Our tour guide Christos was wonderful. He made the whole trip very personalized and comfortable. We highly recommend getting the private tour. Meteora is stunning and well worth the trip.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear that Christos made your tour personalized and comfortable. Meteora truly is a breathtaking destination, and we're happy you found the private tour worthwhile. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in the future!
Our guide was wonderful. He showed us as much as possible in the time we had, was full of information , and got us to our bus right on time .
Excellent tour from Meteora Thrones. Chris was an amazing guide and he dropped us at a local spot for an amazing lunch. Train was cancelled due to track issues and the tour agency worked swiftly to find transport for us that fit our needs. I would highly suggest this tour. It is very unique, with the monasteries sitting high above on huge rock formations. You won’t see this in many places.
Christos was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable of the monasteries and the surrounding area. In our 4 hour window we were able to visit 3 of the 6 monasteries, more than enough, the rest we were satisfied with just seeing from viewpoints which Christos knew the best places for optimal viewing. Be prepared for the number of steps to visit, our first had 300 each way, 2nd had 200 each way, and last had 165 each way. The other most popular one closed on Mondays would have had significantly more. We were exhausted after the steps and the heat of the day, reaching 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Perhaps Sept would be a better time to visit according to Christos. Our private tour was so much better than the large tour buses, and we had much more info and I think we got to see more than if we had been on a large motor coach. I also suggest that if you want to do this tour from a cruise ship, consider doing from one of the ports closer to the area. We were only going to be in Athens this time visiting, our trip was 5 hours each way from Athens by train and bus, with 4 hours to visit the monasteries and surrounding UNESCO site.
This was a day I will remember all my life! While it was a five hour bus ride each way, the marvel and beauty of the monasteries was worth it. The sheer feat of architecture was breathtaking and the natural rock formations unparalleled. This is a must see when traveling to Greece. To miss this is like going to Arizona and not seeing the Grand Canyon!!!
This was one of the highlights of our Greece trip. Oue tour guide was Christos (sp) he met us at the train station when our train arrived. We immediately set off to tour the 3 monasteries they were absolutely breath taking. Christos took us to see all six but due to time limitations we could only see 3. He then took us to a restaurant in the center of Meteora. This was a perfect ending in Meteora.
The good, bad and ugly of the tour:
1. Fantastic views of the monasteries.
2. The bad, makes for a long day, 4 plus hours on train bothe ways but well worth it.
There really was no ugly. Advice would be to book 1st class on train.
Enjoyed seeing the sights at Meteora. Our private car/guide/driver was excellent and well worth the price. First class train seat was lovely, but the return train arrived after 12 AM in Athens due to rail problems.
