Itinerary
Book your chosen tour option and meet your guide in central Athens. Then, set off on your Athens sightseeing tour by luxury air-conditioned coach.
Hear insightful commentary from your guide, and pass top Athens attractions including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Greek Parliament building, and Presidential Palace, the home of Greece’s royals until the monarchy ended in 1974.
See the Panathenaic Stadium, the venue of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Then, drive along Panepistimiou Avenue to snap photos of the National Library and one of Greece’s most revered orthodox churches.
After your coach tour, see two Athens’ historical treasures on foot. View the exterior of the Temple of Olympian Zeus — a gigantic, semi-ruined edifice completed in the 2nd century AD—as your guide explains its turbulent history.
Continue to Athens’ showpiece: the Acropolis. Stroll up to the UNESCO-listed site that served as the ancient citadel, and tour the buildings as you hear how they reflected Athens’ prosperity in the 5th century BC.
Admire the magnificent Parthenon, and see monuments including the Propylaea gateway and stunning Temple of Athena Nike. After time to explore the rest of the site independently, return to your coach and end your tour back at the start point.
Morning Tour plus Acropolis Museum: Make the most of your time at the Acropolis by upgrading the morning tour to include entry to the Athens Acropolis Museum, one of the world’s top museums.
Show your entrance ticket and explore independently. Walk around the spectacular Parthenon Hall to ogle the incredible sculptures of the Parthenon frieze, and roam the other galleries to view more than 4,000 other ancient objects.
Your ticket lets you spend as long as you wish inside the museum.

The tour was exceptionally informative and the best that I have done. I have done several Athens tours and of the Acropolis over the years but Dora from Chat tours was a mine of information with a lovely light hearted as well as extremely detailed commentary.
Dorothea_S, Oct 2025
Excellent tour. Our guide was very good and made sure everyone was safe and her directions were clear. There was plenty of free time for photos.
Belinda_B, Oct 2025
Loved our guide. The tour was great. We got to see the highlights of the Acropolis and we had plenty of free time to explore on our own.
Janice_L, Oct 2025
Fascinating, informative, and efficient! Athens has so much history and our tour guide was great at knowing everything about the Acropolis and each historical point with a little humor. She also didn’t drag on too long with any subject and kept things going at a good pace. Highly recommend!
Carlos_P, Oct 2025
Great tour highly recommended. The tour guide explained everything, very detailed. Excellent explanation of the city.
Nicholas_H, Sep 2025
Good half day tour to go around Athens and see the Acropolis with a very knowledgeable guide. Price might be a little high for just a few hours and a big bus to go up to the Acropolis.
Dawn_C, Sep 2025
Great time. Hit all the major points. It's very croweded this time of the year and walking around can be a challenge but would do it again.
Brian_K, Aug 2025
Excellent tour guide and very informative. It was worth it to see the museum as well. Going on another tour tomorrow.
Shannon_C, Aug 2025
Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with an elderly participant. The tour took us to the top of the acropolis where was learned about the Parthenon. We then went on a bus tour of the city to see more sights. The tour finished in the museum which was really good.
Audrie_C, Aug 2025
Excellent, action packed, well versed tour guide. Hotel pick up and drop off a major perk. We enjoyed it greatly
Samantha_M, Aug 2025
I highly recommend the half day tour in the morning,, including the Acropolis and Parthenon entry. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient, allowing us to take pictures along the way. She made the whole experience fantastic.
Nancy_R, Jul 2025
I felt this was too expressive for only the acropolis and not museum would had been cheaper to buy on my own.
William_K, Jun 2025
We would recommend rearranging this tour so that you go to the Acropolis first before it gets too hot and too crowded. Although the tour started early (about 8:30 am), after a quick tour of the city and then the Museum (which was wonderful and so worthwhile doing), we didn't end up at the Acropolis until about Noon. By that time, it was in the 90's and so crowded it was a stop and go traffic jam of people trying to climb to the top. It was a miserable experience. In addition, the tour ran longer than expected and sometime after 1:00 we had to leave the tour and take a taxi back to our hotel and to the cruise ship to make our departure time.

Dear William,
We are thanking your your feedback.
Acropolis during high season is always crowed and unfortunately we can't avoid it.
Also as per our advertised itinerary you booked and paid 5 hours tour with Acropolis and museum.
The tour always starts at 08:30 and ends 13:30 always depending on traffic.
Warm regards
Hara

HARA A. Lucarelli - Booking
The above individual worked tirelessly to get us tickets into Acropolis after we missed the tour. Bravo! Very much appreciated. We had a delightful time touring at our slow pace.
FYI: when map tells you 15 minute walk time, make it 30. Give yourself time to get lost. Between jet lag, old age, and fatigue we missed the tour. Probably a blessing as we took out time doing that serious Alpine climb to the top.
Lucy_W, Jun 2025
Lots of walking and steps to get to the structure. Even though I called and spoke to someone live prior to booking to explain my health concerns I was misled as to the walking/climbing required. I was not able to complete the tour. Unable to get close to the museum.
Response from Host, Jun 2025

Nancy and driver Nico were great. We went to Acropolis first🙏. Very hot, very crowded and strenuous walking! So very glad the rest of the trip was on the bus!❤️
Lacey_A, Jun 2025
Dora was great - really knowledgeable, emphatic and passionate about Acropolis & Greek history in general. The tour had good pace & timing. We had enough free time to go around the Acropolis and museum at our own pace.
For instructions, they can be a bit repetitive but I understand why. A lot of people in the tour probably got lost or was late in the past. So they repeat the instructions multiple times. To be fair, you will remember it till after the tour :)
Highly recommend this tour to do a quick tour of Athens!
Raymonde_A, Jun 2025
How busy the acropolis is book in morning.Very interesting guide was good would had like more interaction with city people and smaller group.
Gabrielle_N, Jun 2025
Very informative. Great guide. Learnt so much. Amazing buildings to see. And the tour of the city was great too.
Stephen_W, May 2025
Wonderful company to use, very knowledgeable and have a considerable about of information.
This is a walking tour, you will walk, but you will see things not seen in a car.
Daniel_B, May 2025
If you are uncomfortable with crowds or have mobility issues , do not do this tour. If you are fairly healthy, and have a flexible and accommodating attitude, this tour is not to be missed. So much history to be wowed by!
We had Dora as our guide and she is no nonsense. That is not meant as a criticism. It has to be a major challenge to manage the safety, welfare and enjoyment of a whole bus load of assorted tourists. Dora was firm, informative and seemingly everywhere.
The Acropolis and Parthenon were so impressive. Make sure if you go, you are physically capable, wear comfortable, non-slip shoes and bring plenty of water. If you go on a sunny day, bring a hat or umbrella.
If I were to do this again, I would strongly consider a small group tour.
Liz_A, May 2025
Amazing! We had one full day to explore Athens before our itinerary took us to the Greek Islands. There was no way we would have seen this much of the city and learned of its history and culture on our own. A wonderful day! Thank you! Our guide was a knowledgeable local female who was funny, charming and absolutely made this a highlight of our trip to Greece!
Marian_M, May 2025
There is a lot of driving around and the tour guide is not good at keeping the group together. Too many at one time for her to handle
Response from Host, May 2025

Please know that all our guides are experienced professionals who manage multiple groups daily, even in challenging conditions. We appreciate your comments and will continue working hard to improve every guest's experience. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Warm regards,
Hara

Our tour guide was wonderful, she was very thorough and detail oriented. At the same time, she gave us plenty of time to take pictures. She was easily to follow and understand. In addition, the headsets were very loud and clear. I will say the Acropolis is quite the hike so wear comfortable shoes with friction because there’s a bunch of slippery areas.
Tracy_W, Apr 2025
The tour guide was outstanding; she knew so much history and information it made the tour fantastic!! She answered questions and really pointed out important things.
Thank you!!
Tracy

Excellent for a visit to the Acropolis & the beautiful city of Athens! We had a very comfortable bus with water provided. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable & kind.
Andrew_M, Mar 2025
Guided tour provided more information that we would of been able to get by ourselves. Also helped get us in and to the right areas.
Lauren_S, Oct 2024
Vicki was amazing! Very knowledgeable, especially about the engineering and architecture of the Parthenon. Kept us moving at a relaxing pace but covered so much on a short time. Highly recommend if you want information not realized when looking at the Parthenon.
Marsha_O, Oct 2024
We were given way too much information once inside the acropolis. I felt it could be pared down so we have more time to explore.
Jennifer_T, Oct 2024
Excellent tour! Vickie was an amazing tour guide. She was knowledgeable and told us many interesting facts about Athens and the Acropolis! Everyone having a headset to hear her was perfect because these sites are very busy with many groups.
