We had such a great experience on the Sea Glass Island tour! Our guide, Alex, was wonderful - he was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so fun. We found tons of beautiful sea glass and had a lot of fun searching for it (rakes provided!). Alex picked us up right at our hotel and dropped us off afterward, and bottled water was provided to keep us cool. It was also just a short, easy boat ride from the dock over to the island. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable outing in Aruba!

JR and his crew were absolutely amazing! JR was easy to reach on the phone and was extremely accommodating. He gave us a lot of information and recommendations about the island. The entire team was extremely friendly and I would absolutely recommend this company to take care of you on your Seaglass hunting day!!!
Alissa_S, Mar 2026
It was great! Bring water bottles and wear sunscreen. They provided collection bags and metal rakes to dig with.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the great review!
We’re so glad you had a great time and appreciate the helpful tips—bringing water and sunscreen is definitely the way to go! ☀️💧
Happy to hear the collection bags and rakes made your sea glass hunt even more fun. We hope you found some beautiful pieces!
Thanks again for joining us, and we’d love to have you back anytime!

Thank you so much for your amazing review!
We’re thrilled to hear you had such a great experience and that Richard took excellent care of you—he’ll be so happy to hear this! 3 bags full of sea glass is incredible! 💎🌊 We love that you were able to collect so many beautiful pieces and truly enjoy the island.
Thank you for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!
Kay_V, Mar 2026
You are going to get very wet on your ride out only a rubber raft brings you out. You side on the sides
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your feedback. The ride to the island is done by rubber raft, so getting wet is expected as part of the experience. This is an adventurous, nature-based tour rather than a luxury boat excursion, and we aim to make that clear in our description. We appreciate you joining us and sharing your thoughts.
AnnM_M, Mar 2026
this company was late picking us up from the meet up location after we arrived 30 minutes early and had to call 3 times before someone actually picked us up though it was NOT a marked transport vehicle....it was a dirty black broken down truck with no A/C and the driver did not have any of our information. We reluctantly went with him, but really felt unsafe. When we got there they put us in an inflatable boat with an engine that kept dying out. 3 times the engine went out!!! the same thing happened on way back. The only good thing that happened is that we did get some beautiful sea glass, but i would hesitate to use this company again!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your feedback. However, several points in this review are inaccurate and require clarification.
First, our driver arrived to the pickup location and had the guest names for the reservation. Transportation vehicles used for tours in Aruba are not always branded, but they are authorized to transport guests. Our drivers also communicate directly with guests if there are any delays.
The tour itself did operate as scheduled and guests were successfully transported to and from Sea Glass Island. At no point was there any unsafe situation during the tour. Small marine engines can occasionally require restarting, but this does not mean the boat is unsafe or “broken down.” The boat completed the tour without incident and safely returned all guests.
We also want to note that despite the claims made in this review, the guests did complete the experience and were able to enjoy collecting sea glass on the island.
While we always appreciate feedback, we cannot support statements that misrepresent the safety or operation of the tour. Our team runs this experience regularly for many satisfied guests.

We had a great time on sea glass island. Our guide Curly was awesome. He picked us up at our resort and from that moment on was very attentive and FUN!!!! Found alot of green glass along with a few pieces of red and blue. Would definitely do this tour again.
Lynda_H, Feb 2026
I like picking up shells and pretty stones in other countries. So I thought this would be fun and I was right. We had a quick trip over on a dinghy. Some people kayaked over. The island is covered with seaglass. I enjoyed searching for the more rare blue and red stones. It’s just something that I like to do. I will put the glass in a tiny jar on the booksh.
Marie_N, Feb 2026
We were excited to visit Sea Glass Island, as I love to comb the beach for these treasures. Sea Glass Island was created when a recycling facility was destroyed by a hurricane, and all of the sea glass ended up on a little spit of land not far from the main land. We opted for the "boat tour", which consisted of a blow-up dingy that was hardly sea-worthy. It was filled with water, and barely made the crossing. We never felt in danger, but we did get wet! Once we arrived on the "island" we were given trowels and a plastic bag to collect sea glass. For 90 minutes, we dug, scraped and discovered lots of sea glass...but nothing extraordinary. It was nice to be out on the water, and our tour guide was great. A good way to spend a couple of hours off the beach, but not a memorable trip.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Marie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We’d like to clarify that this is not marketed as a luxury excursion. The Seaglass Island experience is a rustic, nature-based outing designed for guests who enjoy hands-on exploring. The transfer vessel is a small local dinghy used specifically for the short crossing — it is sea-worthy, operated by experienced captains, and intended for practical transport, not luxury cruising. Getting a little wet can happen depending on wind and tide conditions, as this is open ocean water.
Seaglass Island itself is exactly what it’s described to be: a shoreline area where sea glass accumulated over time due to historic hurricane activity. The experience involves digging, scraping, and searching — which many guests find relaxing and rewarding. It’s about the thrill of discovery rather than curated or staged finds.
We’re glad you enjoyed being out on the water and that you found your guide to be great — we truly appreciate that acknowledgment.
For travelers seeking a high-end or luxury-style excursion, we always recommend reviewing tour details carefully to ensure it matches expectations. Our goal is to provide an authentic, local, hands-on experience — and that is what is delivered.
Wishing you the best in your future travels.
Jennifer_L, Feb 2026
Enjoyed every minute of our trip to this small but unique island! Closed toe shoes reccomended, but so fun!
Jill_F, Feb 2026
Beautiful island, wonderful staff, tons of small pieces of sea glass and some great special finds! Be ready to dig climb on the rocks.
Carrie_E, Feb 2026
Sea glass literally all over!!!! Mostly green and brown. Tiny blue pieces. Did find pottery pieces. The tour guide found some teal and purple and gave us each two small pieces. The van to get there is older minivan, boat is inflatable with motor, could be upgraded but the guys couldn’t be nicer or more informative and super funny. We actually missed our time bc of time difference and we didn’t have clearance to get off ship yet and they called and texted and easily moved us to the next slot. Loved the experience! They had little shovels to help dig baggies and bottled water.
Paul_M, Feb 2026
Really enjoyed ourselves. Alex and Richie were our guides. Both were very helpful and explained everything. They were great. Even though we did not find anything rare or unusual, we still came home with a lot of sea glass. Just FYI, it is about a 25-30 drive south to that location. Overall, we did have a great time.
Cheryl_M, Feb 2026
We were picked up for the tour on time at our hotel. After picking up one other couple we travelled to the boat launch. We were amazed at how much sea glass there is! Our driver and guide Alex was excellent. This is a locally owned and operated business. If you want a bigger corporate type tour with a fancy boat and transportation this tour is not for you. If you are anxious about boating and water travel then this tour may not be for you as the boat used for the short trip to the island is a small inflatable craft with a 20 horsepower outboard motor. BUT if you want an authentic island experience and want to meet and visit with some friendly, informative and likeable local guides then this is the tour for you. We had a great time!
Estelle_J, Jan 2026
Very disappointing. Was supposed to be picked up at 8am, tour was a "no show" after waiting for an hour. We did call tour operator and was told the driver showed us as picked up. Viator was so helpful in getting us a refund.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’d like to clarify that this review is a duplicate of an earlier post and that our records do not reflect an hour-long wait at the pickup location. The driver was present and the pickup was logged accordingly.
We understand how frustrating transportation issues can feel, and we’re glad Viator was able to assist you. We always aim to provide clear communication and timely service and appreciate the opportunity to address concerns when they arise.
Sharon_E, Jan 2026
Picked us up right by the ship. A small boat ride to the island. Alex was awesome it's a ton of beach glass. Had a blast😃
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for the great review! We’re so glad pickup was easy, you enjoyed the boat ride, and had a blast finding all that beach glass 😃 Alex will be happy to hear this—hope to see you again soon! 🌊
Christine_K, Jan 2026
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! Guide showed up 15 mins late( half hour if you include the 15 mins prior of us being there) . Never introduced himself, no apologies for being late. While waiting, we noticed that the dingy was in poor shape and needed to be inflated. Patches everywhere, no handles to hold on to along one whole side. Had to wait another 10 mins for boat to get inflated, and at this point, my friend and I did not feel safe about going on the boat. 2 other ladies that were also going felt they had no choice since it was their last day there and said, " well, we are good swimmers if it sinks!" Wasn't worth it for us to take that risk though. So, if you seriously want to take the risk, go ahead. And Viator is of no help, although pleasant enough to deal with. Had to wait a few days before hearing that I wouldn't get a refund. Claiming that the " boat was ready to go", " totally safe" and " pictures on their site show the shape of the boat" NOT to all of these answers! Took some pictures of the boat there to compare to theirs and it is NOT the same!! See MY pictures and be warned! You want a Wonderful guide and Great and Safe experience, book with Sea Glass Tours Aruba with Maurice and Silke, very sweet couple and professional.
Scott_L, Jan 2026
What’s so unfortunate is we’re a nice and reasonable family that just wanted what we paid for, but, instead, we were grossly mistreated by both this sea glass company AND Viator. On the day of our excursion, we were told to be at the meeting spot at 8:45am. We were there at the dock on time waiting along with some lovely ladies watching EVERY other ON TIME company (4 or 5) greet us, pass us by, and feel sorry for us, as they headed to their excursion. NINETY minutes later (this is only supposed to be a 2.5 hr. excursion), after I had to find ways to contact this company and then Viator because no one could figure out a way to contact “Alex” (who wasn’t answering the phone), someone finally shows up. This is our vacation! Any reasonable person would be upset, frustrated and at least expect some kind of apology/discount/refund. Nope. Somehow, because we FINALLY got to our destination (along with those lovely ladies who were irate as well), they thought they “came through.” Like many of you reading this, we had other plans scheduled (maximizing vacation time) so we couldn’t stay for the entire excursion because we had other plans. So, in reality, an excursion that asked us to arrive at 8:45am and return to the same spot at 11:30am, started for us at 10:15am and my family only had an hour and 15 minutes (exactly half of the time we paid for).
In case that wasn’t bad enough, Viator made it worse. We have been loyal to Viator ever since we learned about them. We book everything we do through Viator. But, boy, did I learn once again, you don’t learn about a company when things go right, you see who they are when things go “wrong” and you’re just asking for accountability, decency, and respect.
Following their “review” (I’m not sure what there is to review when a tour is 90 minutes late on a 2.5 hr tour), they we “gracious” enough to give us a 10% discount.
Are you kidding me? 10%? Viator is either being lied to by the Sea Glass company about the timeline of the events OR Viator isn’t accountable to the businesses that they post on THEIR website and represent.
Viator’s pathetic mismanagement/customer service of a “Sea Glass” excursion is a lesson learned. I hope anyone who uses them remembers that they will not be the first to be mistreated or unappreciated if something goes “wrong.”
I will not be using Viator again. I work too hard. My hard earned money will be spent with companies that appreciate that along with my loyalty.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
We must clarify the facts, as this account is inaccurate and has been posted multiple times.
You were not at the designated meeting location listed in your confirmation. Our team was en route and attempting to reach you when you chose to board a different tour bus unrelated to our excursion. Once a guest leaves the agreed meeting point and joins another operator, we cannot proceed as scheduled.
Delays caused by guests being at the wrong location are outside of our control and do not constitute a service failure. Despite this, the tour still operated once contact was re-established.
We also note that the use of the word “pathetic” is inappropriate and violates Viator’s review guidelines, which require respectful and non-abusive language. Our staff remained professional throughout the interaction.
Clear instructions were provided in advance, and guests are responsible for arriving at the correct location. We stand by our team and the handling of this situation.

This was a quiet day away from the hussle and bussle of Palm Beach. Quiet side of the island. The sea glass beach is a narrow strip of land that collects the glass.. an island but really more of a oversized sand bar. More sea glass than you know what to do with. The van that gets you there is a circa 1990's van that did break down a few times - but we were on island time - so no worries. And Alex the driver was able to "fix" each time. Also the boat that takes you to the island has a slow leak so it needs to be inflated a bit before you go in it. Overall we loved the time collecting sea glass. For the price however, the trnasportation (both van and boat) are primitive at best! If you are a worrier....this may not be for you. If you like a "back roads, no frills, local feel" then this is for you.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your thoughtful review and for spending the day with us! We’re glad you enjoyed the peaceful, off-the-beaten-path side of the island and had such a great time collecting sea glass. That relaxed, local feel is exactly what many of our guests love most.
We appreciate your feedback regarding transportation. While our setup is intentionally simple to access this remote area, safety is always a priority, and our team ensures all equipment and vehicles are monitored and handled appropriately. We’re happy to hear Alex was able to keep everything running smoothly.
Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back for another laid-back island adventure!
Sailawayhappy, Jan 2026
Provider was over half hour late so we stood in meeting location wondering if they were coming. We decided to move on and then they called saying they were there. I told him we had moved on after waiting over an hour from time we were told to be there. He rudely said “that’s not how it works!” He was yelling at me! My vacation time is valuable too!
I met another couple in the same situation and we decided to fold and go. It only got worse! They combined two trips so late to pick us up and then circled around busy downtown area twice to pick up people for the 2PM trip! Tons of time in a crowded van nowhere near our destination. When we finally got there it was crazy. Dingy needed air, so clearly they were not prepared for us, went to get battery and we stood there while they inflated the dingy! Worse yet, the dingy needed air while we were under way, battery sitting in an inch of water in dingy, pumping air into dingy! Oldest dingy I have ever been in for sure! Sea Glass Island, ok, sea glass but totally overrated, heard they bring the sea glass in and dump on island as there is little sea glass in the waters around it! Totally not worth $130! Just in our van they had over $1000 for that tour, they need to replace that dingy! Skip this until they get that message!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We take feedback seriously, and we’d like to address several points to clarify what occurred.
First, leaving the designated pickup location is not acceptable. When a guest is scheduled for pickup, it is their responsibility to remain at the agreed meeting point. Our driver was already en route, traffic delays were communicated, and we answered and returned all calls during that time. Choosing to leave the pickup location and board another tour, then expecting a refund, is simply not how guided tours operate. That is why our staff stated, clearly and firmly, that this was not how it works.
Second, this is not a private tour. As clearly stated at booking, this is a shared group excursion, which means multiple pickups are standard. Downtown traffic—especially in a busy cruise port area—is beyond our control, and circling to collect other confirmed guests is part of the tour logistics. If a private experience is required, that must be requested and booked as such.
Regarding equipment: yes, the dinghy required additional air, and we acknowledge that it should have been fully prepared earlier. For that reason, we are already in the process of replacing it. However, implying neglect or unsafe practices is inaccurate. Safety is always our priority, and the equipment was functional and monitored throughout.
As for the sea glass, we categorically deny the claim that glass is “dumped” on the island. The sea glass is naturally deposited there due to currents and tides. While opinions may differ on whether the experience is “worth it,” spreading misinformation is not fair to our business or future guests.
Finally, we are a locally owned, family-run business. While constructive criticism is welcome, dismissive comments about our operation or equipment cross from feedback into disrespect. We work hard to provide a genuine experience and transparent communication.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective, and we wish you the best in your future travels.
Kathy_P, Jan 2026
Alex was great. Only issue we didn’t get notified before pic up that boat was broken and we had tu kayak. As we took off the text came thru. Overall great if you are a sea glass junkie like us
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re really glad to hear that you had a great experience overall and that Alex took good care of you — especially since you’re true sea glass enthusiasts 😊
We do sincerely apologize for the late notification regarding the boat issue. You’re absolutely right that this should have been communicated before pickup, and we understand how that could be frustrating. Your feedback helps us improve our communication so we can avoid this in the future.
We truly appreciate your understanding and are happy to hear that, despite the change, you still enjoyed the experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon — hopefully under perfect conditions next time!
Nori_V, Jan 2026
It was nice, most of the glass is brown and dark green. I think they scattered the glass from a recycling center. But we had a good time anyway
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your review—we’re glad to hear you had a good time overall.
We’d like to gently clarify one point: scattering glass from a recycling center would not produce sea glass. Sea glass forms naturally over many years, as discarded glass is broken by waves and then tumbled, smoothed, and frosted by saltwater, sand, and constant ocean motion. This natural process is what gives sea glass its distinctive texture and rounded edges and cannot be replicated by simply placing glass in one location.
The predominance of brown and green pieces is typical worldwide, as these colors historically came from beverage bottles, which were most commonly used decades ago. Over time, Aruba’s coastal conditions created the sea glass found on the island today.
We appreciate you joining the tour and are happy you still enjoyed the experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Joe_C, Dec 2025
No I love Aruba sign to meet. Just email when off the boat and find them somewhere?
Cheesy ride on a little boat that wouldnt stay running, ride to a little island. Not a beach. Not able to get in this water. Lots of glass for sure.
We were ready to go in 30 minutes. We waited 1 hrs 20 minutes for someone to pick us up. Victor met us down by not sending someone promptly.
Then Viator operator tried to blame me for not meeting them at 12. Couldn't find them. But no excuse to leave us stranded at the return pick up point. Finally a guy who was off work came and got us. He blasted the people too thst they dint know what they are doing. Don't take this tour. If you do you heard it here.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you for your message. We would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your tour and transportation.
On the day of your booking, other guests from your cruise arrived on time at the confirmed meeting point and were picked up as scheduled. The pickup time was clearly communicated and confirmed on the day of your booking.
Our records show that your group responded more than one hour after the scheduled pickup time. During that period, our team attempted to contact you using the phone number provided through Viator, but no response was received. Due to the presence of other guests who needed to be transported to the tour, our drivers could not wait an extended period, as doing so would negatively impact the experience of others.
Because of this delay, we made the decision to find an alternative way to accommodate your group and arranged for a different driver to assist you once available. This was done as a courtesy, despite the circumstances.
While being stranded is a serious concern, having a clearly marked meeting point with a pinpoint location on a main street that is easy to locate—and not being present at that location—is considered a no-show. Our team cannot wait an hour past the scheduled meeting time, as this would unfairly disrupt other guests’ tours.
We would also like to reiterate that Sea Glass Island is not a beach. It has never been advertised as a luxury destination for swimming or sunbathing. This tour is specifically designed for sea glass enthusiasts who enjoy digging for natural treasures in a rugged environment. It is often enjoyed by families and guests who share this interest.
Lastly, referring to the boat ride as “cheesy” is a rude and inappropriate choice of words toward the crew, who work hard to provide a safe and authentic experience.
We appreciate feedback, but it is important that reviews accurately reflect the nature of the tour and the facts surrounding the experience.
Leslie_T, Dec 2025
It is worth the trip if you enjoy sea glass. The guides were very hospitable. The boat ride was quick and very nice
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re happy to hear you felt the trip was worth it and that you enjoyed the sea glass experience.
We’re also glad our guides made you feel welcome and that you liked the quick, pleasant boat ride. It’s a great outing for sea glass lovers, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Pete_S, Dec 2025
Very simple and fun experience. Nothing fancy but just a few hours of exploring and digging for some unique pcs of glass, shells and stones.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the experience and appreciated it for what it is—simple, relaxed, and fun.
A few hours of exploring and digging for unique pieces of sea glass, shells, and stones is exactly what this trip is all about. We’re happy you had a good time and hope to welcome you back again in the future!
Nancy_R, Nov 2025
The guides were amazing! Alex was very informative. They picked us up at our resort with information all the way to the other side of the island.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for the great review! We’re so happy to hear that our guides made such a strong impression and that Alex was especially informative.
We’re glad you enjoyed the resort pickup and learning more about the island along the way—it’s always nice when the experience starts well before reaching the water. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again in the future!
John_T, Nov 2025
Very fun unique experience. Guides were great. The pick up van was old but got us there. The boat over only takes about five minutes. The takes and baggies were helpful for collecting glass. Mostly saw white, green and brown glass.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed this fun and unique experience and that our guides made it a great one.
We appreciate your note about the pickup van—it may not be fancy, but we’re happy it got you there safely. We’re also glad you found the rakes and baggies helpful for collecting sea glass. And you’re absolutely right—white, green, and brown are the most common colors, which makes finding rarer pieces part of the excitement.
Thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again in the future!
DARM_V, Nov 2025
Love the zodiac boat ride to the island and the fun of collecting cool glass fragments from the shores. JR was a great coordinator for the day and loved the stories behind how the glass island came to be. He was considerate during the onboarding into the boats and on the shore. The price was steeper than some of the other comparable excursions we did like the UTV or catamaran.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you loved the zodiac boat ride and the fun of collecting unique sea glass along the shore—it really does feel like a treasure hunt.
We’re happy to hear that JR made the day run smoothly and that you enjoyed learning about the history behind Sea Glass Island. His attentiveness during boarding and onshore is something we truly value.
We also appreciate your honest note about pricing. This experience is priced to reflect the exclusive access, small-group format, and hands-on guidance, which makes it quite different from larger excursions like UTV or catamaran tours. That said, we completely understand that value is personal and varies by interest.
Thank you again for joining us and for your thoughtful feedback—we hope to welcome you back again in the future!
