Water shoes a must and good balance. It was like being on a treasure hunt digging through jewels looking for the most unique to take home. And the guides could explain what you had whether it was pieces of pottery or glass. One of our group found a piece of pottery dating back to something like the 1500's with writing on it. Super neat.

A glass from the past…

This was a wonderful experience. My wife was a little worried about kayaking across the water with moderate winds and waves. The guide aat in the back of the tandem and shuttled her over while I took his single. She felt safe with that setup. He was incredibly helpful in identifying the various items we found. There is tons of sea glass, particularly green, which kind of makes it a fun challenge looking for the other colors. Keep an eye out and you might see a crab or two. The guide also had good recommendations for a local breakfast (Eduardo‘s Savaneta) and lunch.(Kamino’s Kitchen).

This is a quick Kayak trip across an inlet. The tour guides provided accomodations to visitors that needed assistance to cross the inlet. The tour guide Eriko was very knowledgeable about all the types of glass and ceramics that could be found on the island include a diagram of his finds. The tour guide Alex had a great personality and he helped everyone feel comfortable kayaking. The island has many great peices of glass so you wont leave empty handed. I would highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely the best professional guides who took great care of 4 ladies who are not experienced kayaks? Turned out to be easier than we expected. You don't have to be physically fit to do this activity. Fun digging through all the glass. I would highly recommend this tour.

I’ve never found or even searched for sea glass before, but I think it’s my new beach hobby. Erickson was such a kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming tour guide. He even made sure I had a taxi to pick me up following the conclusion of the tour. 10/10 experience!

Treasure hunt

Kayak part is easy and very short. There is so much sea glass. Mostly amber, green and white. Finding blue or red is like finding treasure.

The best guides!

This was so much fun! We did the sea glass island for our excursion for our Aruba stop on our cruise. There was a time difference and the guides were super flexible when I let them know! Do not be intimidated by the kayaking, it’s not far at all! We had our three kids with us and it was very manageable and the guides will tow if needed! 😊 The island is covered in sea glass, and the guides provided ziploc bags to collect and even told us to make sure we had no coral or shells and to wash all of the sand off before returning to the cruise ship to avoid having ours confiscated! The guides even found some rare colors of sea glass while we were out and gave them to us! 1000/10 recommend if you’re in Aruba! These guys were awesome!

It was awesome. Ericho was great. He gave us information on what to look for and he had a great sense of humor! Would definitely recommend this tour. The kayaking is easy and even a novice can do it. However, I would say you definitely need water shoes.

Sea Glass hunt

We really enjoyed the brief kayak trip to the barrier island to find plentiful sea glass. Ericko explained what to look for and gave us a bag and rake to start our hunt. There were plenty of green, brown and clear with small flecks of blue. We felt like we have enough time for the search and it was great fun. We came from a cruise ship, so were a little challenged to find the starting point, but just need to have the cab call Ericko for verification to avoid that.

The sea glass experience was wonderful but the taxi person charged us $120 to get to meeting point and back. It took maybe 15-20 minutes to get there.

The rate mentioned sounds like a pre-booked private transportation service, which can be significantly more expensive. Regular taxis available at hotels and the cruise terminal are typically much more affordable for this short drive. Eddie was an excellent host! He made it fun, super informative and took great care of us! Even rescued a flip flop! Tons of sea glass…never seen anything like it. I could have spent the whole day there. Wear water shoes to get to part of the island.

A class with glass!

An awesome unique experience with a wealth of glass. The Kayak was a first for us and it was windy so a little anxiety, but the guide towed us which was best for us seniors! The glide in the water was only 5 min. across and once there, there is so much glass to take as you wish, so planned to make jewelry and mosaics of our treasures. If you get tired, there is room in the shade to relax. Our day was gorgeous. We even saw a tiny turtle and crab. Perfect adventure for kids to seniors. Highly recommended!
