Be prepared to be amazed and chill out like a kid again. The paddle across the water to the island is just the beginning. Sea glass everywhere. Our guides were very understanding and we appreciated being picked up at our hotel.

Sea Glass kayaking was excellent. We choose to kayak out to the island, rather than taking the boat. Kayaking was very easy, and we saw turtles! On the island, the sea glass was easy to find. We found a lot of different colors. Kayaking back to the mainland was easy, and we saw more turtles.

    Great experience with a local

This was a wonderful experience. Our guide set us up, gave us great instructions and brought us to a wonderful little island full.of sea glass. He gave us the history of the sea glass and let us meander on our own. The guide was wonderful. Highly recommend!

    Good fun

    Eldon_C, Mar 2026
The guides were nice and helpful, and sea glass island was good, but I wish there was more kayaking involved in the trip.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed kayaking out to Sea Glass Island and that you got to spot turtles along the way—that’s always such a special bonus! 🐢✨ It’s great to know you found plenty of sea glass in different colors and had a smooth, enjoyable paddle both ways. We truly appreciate you choosing to adventure with us and hope to welcome you back again soon!

    So much sea glass!

    Wendy_P, Mar 2026
We arrived on a cruise ship and found that the public bus system would be more complicated than we had planned so we found someone to take us (one way) to the tour meeting place ($30). The guide was on time and took six of us to the sea glass island in a boat (raining hard and windy though 4 of us were willing to paddle the kayaks). There was a TON of sea glass! Mostly shades of green, brown and white. The guide didnt explain the history of the island and why there was so much glass. All in all, the tour was as described

Our guide Curly was very helpful and gave us valuable information on how the island came about, I am a big sea glass collector and enjoyed it very much.

    Slow start but good experience.

    Jennifer_H, Mar 2026
This was a good tour. The guides were late following some car problems. It was a touch disconcerting at the time. However once they arrived it was efficient and we were launched and to the small barrier island. The entire island beach was mostly glass. Hand rakes and sandwich bags were provided. Most of the glass was green or clear but you could also find some red and blue. Even with the late start we had the full time on the island and nothing was skipped to make up time. Overall it was a nice outing and I enjoyed spending time by the water.

Worst Viator trip I’ve ever booked!

    Agnes_K, Mar 2026
Four of us were picked up by Rich, in a dirty Nissan truck, fenders off, no horn…. Etc. He motioned us over and had nothing to identify himself as our guide. He sped from ship to sea (about a 25 min ride,) in 15 min! He passed cars continually and drove at 87mph cutting across roundabouts on the bumpy no driving part. This was on a main road with traffic and roundabouts. No seatbelts worked in the back.. It was supposed to be in glass bottom sea kayaks. But instead we got in a dingy that barely started. We ended up on a very small island covered in small tumbled glass. He claims it was an old bottling plant dump site, but not sure he wasn’t going to break the bottles from the floor board of the truck! He left us and we collected glass. He finally came back and we asked him to take us back early. When we got in the dingy, he started the engine and it caught on fire. After a few splashes of seawater he put the fire out and we made it back to his truck. On the very fast ride back he regaled us with stories of his parents being drag racers and so he has it in his genes! Then the story of his motorcycle in high school that the police took due to his speeding! But of course, he hopped the fence of the impound lot and stole it back, I’m leaving out lots of details, but I definitely would not recommend this trip and am disappointed that Viator offered it and took our money!!!!!

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We take guest safety and experiences very seriously, so we would like to clarify a few points mentioned in this review. The tour did operate as scheduled and the same guide has safely conducted many of these tours without issue. Transportation to the departure location is a short drive and our drivers follow local road regulations. Our vehicles and equipment are routinely used for our tours and are maintained for normal operation. Regarding the boat, it did not catch fire. At one point the engine briefly stalled during start-up, which can occasionally happen with small marine engines, but it was immediately restarted and the tour continued safely without any fire or damage. Sea Glass Island is a well-known location in Aruba where guests explore and collect sea glass that has naturally tumbled over many years. Many visitors enjoy the unique experience and the history of the area. We regret that the tour did not meet your expectations and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.

Relaxing kayak out to the island where you are told how it came about and given a rake to "treasure hunt " the glass of your choice.

    Amazing tour !!

Rich and curly are the coolest!! Me and my partner had a wonderful time collecting rare blues and reds, even coming across an old medicine vile!! Really cool finds! 😊

    Waste of money

    ANTHONY_R, Feb 2026
We’re on the island for 20 minutes and he said the other group wanted to go back and he told us we had to go back with him. He has a bottle of water when we confronted the service at the end of it. The person told us it was up to us to stay there or not we’re in the middle of an island on an island with no communications $200 down the drain for 20 minutes on a sea glass island

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

This is a duplicate review of the same tour and situation you previously posted about. As already explained, the tour was not ended early by us, and you were not forced to leave. Guests are always welcome to remain on the island and continue exploring. We have addressed these claims before and stand by our original response.

    I love sea glass!!

    Pirates treasure beach Glass Island

    Cari_J, Feb 2026
Glass beach Aruba… While this may be a land lover’s dream to find treasure on the beach, this trip is not for the faint of heart. If you’re flexible and you can go with the flow, and rough a little, this is the trip for you! You get To get right down into the sand and dig for treasure. Confusing tho, the information about what was included with this trip. I think that list should’ve been under what to bring. There is no restroom on the little island so make sure you go before you go. I was fortunate to be able to go over with a group that didn’t want to kayak so we took a small boat over. It was a tight fit, but we all made it. 😎🏴‍☠️

    Good time!

    Michelle_S, Feb 2026
This was a fun and unique experience. Our driver Rich was knowledgeable and professional. He had a cute little dog Tyson with him that kept us company throughout the ride. Short kayak ride to the island, plenty of sea glass to dig up.

    I would not book this...

    Sarah_L, Feb 2026
I would not book this tour again. Ever. We were picked up in a filthy van that honestly felt unsafe. The life jackets and kayak were also dirty. We ended up going in a boat instead of the kayaks because the kayak was muddy and disgusting. The "seaglass island" is basically an old garbage dump. I was extremely disappointed. This tour cost over 350 canadian if u include transportation. No thank you!

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Hi Sarah, We’re truly surprised to read your review, as none of these concerns were mentioned during or immediately after your tour. First, our vehicles are working tour vans that operate in Aruba’s natural terrain daily. They are not luxury transfers, but they are safe, licensed, and inspected. If at any point you felt uncomfortable, you could have brought it to our attention on the spot — you did not. Regarding the kayaks and life jackets: this is an ocean excursion. Equipment is used in saltwater and natural shoreline areas. At no time is any guest provided unsafe equipment. The option to go by boat was offered strictly as a courtesy and convenience, not because anything was “disgusting.” You accepted that option voluntarily. As for Seaglass Island — it is a natural shoreline area where sea glass washes up due to historic activity decades ago. This is clearly described in our listing and is exactly why guests book the experience. Many visitors appreciate the unique history and the opportunity to collect authentic sea glass. Your total reflected transportation, guide service, equipment, and the experience itself — all of which were delivered as described. We stand by the experience provided and the many guests who leave satisfied and informed about what this tour entails. Wishing you the best moving forward.

A great way to spend an afternoon

    Christine_S, Feb 2026
What a great way to spend an afternoon. The directions to the meeting place were very clear and simple. The tour guys were friendly, helpful and informative. The kayaks were easy to paddle and a short trip to the island where we found plenty of sea glass. Mostly green, brown and white but we did manage to find a few small blue pieces. I didn’t see any turtles but I did see fish through the glass bottom kayak. If you’re looking to do something a little different from off roading, I would suggest doing this.

    Gregg_L, Jan 2026
Absolutely terrible. Broken down van, boat with a hole in it and engine that died every 30 sec. Almost all glass is green so just get some Henekin, drink it , and smash the bottles. Much more enjoyable.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

We respectfully disagree with this review. The vehicle and vessel used were operational and met safety standards, and the tour was completed successfully. Inflatable boats often have visible patches as part of normal maintenance and do not indicate damage or risk. Sea glass naturally varies in color, with green being the most common worldwide. We stand by our equipment, our guides, and the experience we provide.

    Kayaking is a small part...

    Lisa_B, Jan 2026
Kayaking is a small part of the trip. We spent most of the time on the island looking for sea glass. It's almost completely covered in it but the fun lies in trying to find a blue, red, or unusual one. There are no lockers to keep your stuff so pack small and in something waterproof. They did allow us to put our bag on the motor boat. We made a mistake of our pick up point and by the time we realized it, it would take 10 minutes to walk but it would have only taken 4 minutes for the driver. The phone number was off the hook and even with the concierge's help, we couldn't contact anyone. The messages through Viator wasn't to the driver. We were able to reschedule to two days later but even that day, the driver was 20 minutes late. We finally got a message to hang on but it was worrisome. The drive was pleasant across the island and the trip was fun.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re glad you enjoyed the island, the abundance of sea glass, and the overall experience—finding those rare blue or red pieces really is part of the fun. We also appreciate you sharing helpful tips for future guests about packing light and using waterproof bags. We’re sorry for the communication challenges around pickup and the delay you experienced. While we’re happy we were able to reschedule your tour and that you ultimately enjoyed the drive and excursion, we understand how stressful those moments can be and appreciate your patience. Your feedback helps us identify where we can improve coordination and communication. Thank you again for joining us, and we’re glad the trip itself turned out to be a fun and memorable experience.

    Set expectations ahead.

    Jordan_K, Jan 2026
While we enjoyed going to the island to find sea glass, our guide was not proactive in sharing details about the island. He was very friendly . The kayaking is about 10 minutes to the island so essentially you are paying to kayak go 20 minutes. We do get lots of sea glass and that was fun but not sure it was worth $200 just to pick up sea glass.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re glad you enjoyed the island and had fun finding sea glass, and we appreciate your kind words about our guide’s friendliness. Our excursions are designed to focus on the experience of reaching a remote island, exploring it at a relaxed pace, and enjoying a guided outing rather than a lengthy kayaking workout. That said, we understand that expectations can vary, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the level of information shared. We’ll certainly take this into consideration as we continue to improve our tours.

    Rough waters when we went...

    Caitlin_M, Jan 2026
Rough waters when we went to kayak over. Requires strength against the tide. Abundance of beautiful sea glass once we arrived. Tour guides were super friendly and helpful. Would be a 5 star review however our tour guide took a bunch of family photos for us and said he would send them (therefore we did not take our own photos) but he never sent them. Very disappointing!

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the sea glass, the island, and our friendly guides, even with the challenging water conditions that day. Regarding the photos, our guides are always glad to help guests by taking pictures as a courtesy; however, photography and photo delivery are not a guaranteed part of the tour. If you had reached out to our office, we would have been more than happy to contact the guide and try to help get the photos to you. We’re sorry this wasn’t communicated sooner and that it affected your overall impression. We truly appreciate your comments and always encourage guests to bring their own cameras and to contact us directly with any concerns so we have the chance to assist.

    Yay for seaglass!!!!

    Sara_B, Jan 2026
Pretty awesome. The kayak ride was cool- it was a little choppy that day- advise to bring a water proof bag it did end up raining on us a couple of times. They do give you a sandwich sized ziplock bag- I brought a gallon sized bag out me and wangle to fill it up. Cruise ship gave me a hard time at first but airport did not. Just showed them it was non living items collected.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for the awesome review! We’re glad you enjoyed the kayak ride—even with a little chop and surprise rain mixed in 🌊😊 Great tip about bringing a waterproof bag; conditions can definitely change out on the water. We’re happy to hear everything worked out with transporting your sea glass as well. Thanks for sharing your experience, and we hope to see you again on another adventure!

    Our guide Richard was...

    Ann_N, Jan 2026
Our guide Richard was incredible. Very knowledgeable about the area and talked about points of interest on the ride to and from the kayak starting point. During the excursion he made sure we were ok and described things along the way to the island. He was very courteous and polite and did not rush us in any way We look forward to taking another excursion with this company

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear how incredible Richard was and how much you enjoyed learning about the area along the way. He truly loves what he does, and we’re glad his knowledge, attentiveness, and relaxed approach made your excursion even more special. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to him. We look forward to welcoming you back for another adventure soon!

    Ingenious

    Ross_G, Jan 2026
Old clunky kayaks, out to an island littered with glass. Sea glass?? I highly doubt it as surrounding beaches are bare. A very good gimic. I applaud the ingenuity in turning it into a business. Superficially a great afternoon. Smells suspiciously like a dump though...

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We appreciate all feedback, even when it’s critical. We’d like to clarify that the glass found on the island is authentic sea glass, shaped over time by natural wave action. The area is not a public swimming beach, which is why the surrounding shorelines you may have seen are bare, while this particular location continues to collect material due to currents and wind patterns. Our kayaks are intentionally sturdy and utilitarian rather than new or lightweight, as they are chosen for stability and safety in varying conditions. While they may appear “clunky,” they serve their purpose reliably. As for the smell you mentioned, the island is a natural area affected by tidal changes, seaweed, and organic material — not a dump. We understand that natural environments can sometimes be misinterpreted, especially by visitors unfamiliar with them. We respect that the experience may not have aligned fully with your expectations, but we stand behind the authenticity of what we offer and the care we take in operating responsibly. Thank you again for your visit and for sharing your thoughts.

    Nice family outing

Alex was friendly and a nice night out. Lots of clear, green and brown/orange glass. Saw a turtle swimming.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so happy to hear that Alex helped make it a friendly and enjoyable night out. Finding so much clear, green, and brown/orange sea glass is always exciting—and spotting a turtle swimming is definitely a special bonus! 🐢✨ We hope to welcome you back again for another great adventure.

    We enjoyed the trip, but...

    Christine_D, Jan 2026
We enjoyed the trip, but it was a bit unorganized for our group. The kayak portion was too short and only took about 15 minutes and the glass bottom kayaks are very difficult to see through- my husband didn’t even get one and was only given a regular kayak. We did collect some cool pieces of sea glass, but I probably wouldn’t do this one again.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad you were able to enjoy the trip overall and find some cool pieces of sea glass. We’re sorry to hear that the experience felt unorganized and that the kayak portion felt too short—your feedback about the glass-bottom kayaks and the equipment mix-up is especially helpful and something we’ll be addressing with our team. While we’re disappointed we didn’t fully meet your expectations this time, we truly appreciate your honest review and hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the future.

Might be the worst “tour” we’ve ever done!

    Kylie_H, Jan 2026
This is not a tour! It’s a small island with fake seaglass dumped from a recycling plant.. There’s no guidance or help. The kayaking is less than 10 min! Do your self a favor and book something else! We were done and waiting for the driver after 45 min! Wasted all day driving there and waiting around!

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

This experience is a visit to Sea Glass Island, a destination specifically enjoyed by sea glass enthusiasts who come to dig, explore, and enjoy their finds at their own pace. The tour duration is approximately two hours, and even including transportation, guests typically spend no more than three hours total. The kayaking portion is intentionally short and gentle, designed for accessibility rather than an intense or technical paddle. Guests seeking a longer or more physically demanding kayaking experience may prefer one of our other excursions that include extended paddling and snorkeling. We strive to clearly describe the nature of this experience in advance so guests can choose the tour that best matches their expectations. We appreciate all feedback and encourage travelers to review tour details carefully before booking.

    I’d do it again!

    Wendy_L, Jan 2026
Alex is aways. Please always tip him he loves his job and deserves it. You get wet. It’s fun and you can get as much glass as you want.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you so much for the kind words! Alex will be thrilled to hear this — he truly loves what he does and enjoys sharing the experience with our guests. We’re glad you had fun, didn’t mind getting a little wet, and enjoyed collecting sea glass. We appreciate you joining us and hope to see you again!
