Tour was slow paced. While the guide was passionate about the subject, her delivery was tangential and often included inaccuracies. Most interesting component was visiting the museum at the former Jewish Theater turned deportation location. All in all, I would recommend other uses of this time in Amsterdam.

Great Tour

Drew_P, May 2026
James was EXCELLENT! Very knowledgable on the topic! He made you feel like you lived through it did an excellent job!

Scarlet was a great tour guide.

Richard_T, May 2026
The tour covered a lot of ground in the two hours. Scarlett, our guide did an excellent job of educating us about what the Jewish community of Amsterdam had to go through during WW II.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for your kind review! We're glad Scarlett helped bring this important history to life and that you found the tour informative and impactful. We appreciate you joining us.

WW 11 tour

Kathryn_S, Apr 2026
Enjoyed our tour guide and got lucky enough to the only 2 in our tour. Covered all the main areas. Only downside was that our ticket said tour time was 12:30, had to contact the company and the said the tour was actually started at 12:45. The guide showed up exactly at the start time. Good of the WW 11 and Jewish history. Very little on Anne Frank. Glad we did it. Learned lots.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thanks for your review! Sorry about the timing confusion, but glad you still enjoyed the tour overall.

Great tour.

James was fun, well versed in the history and made the tour remarkable. Our favorite tour of our trip to Amsterdam.

Thanks so much! Awesome to hear it was your favorite tour of the trip.

Wonderful, knowledgable tour

laurie_N, Mar 2026
Aaron was a very pleasant tour guide. He was very knowledgable and accommodating. We took a private tour bc of mobility limitations and he was perfect in adjusting his pace for us. He also listened to both of my kids questions and answered them with knowledge and respect. The company was also great with communication, from the moment I booked to the time of the tour. Highly recommend the company and Aaron, specifically.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you so much! We're glad Aaron could adjust the pace and make it a great experience for you and your family.

I wouldn't know because the tour guide did not show up. We waited for 30 minutes after scheduled start time.

Great Tour

andrew_p, Apr 2025
James was extremely knowledgeable, giving us the relevant historical information and some modern perspective as well. The tour was just the right length and it left my wife and I discussing what we learned well after.

Everyone should go on this tour

Lisa_A, Jan 2025
James was knowledgeable and passionate about the education given on this tour. While the tour is a somber remembrance of evil and hate, I believe it is important to remember what happened

The tour ended up being the higlight of our short stay in Amsterdam. Our guide was engaging and shared stories that made the history come alive. A must-do when visiting Amsterdam.

Good tour guide but bad and false advertising

Debora_A, Oct 2024
The tour guide was excellent but I was disappointed in the advertising of the tour. It said Anne Frank AND World War 2 I thought it included the Frank House. I was too late to get tickets and the boat left the next day

Great tour but it said ANNE FRANK in title which is very misleading

Gregory_R, Aug 2024
Both Josha and and the tour were great, however we were under the impression that the Anne Franke house was included, based on how the title read. Anne Franke house IS NOT included in this tour.

Passionate about history

Cheryl_B, Jul 2024
We had a wonderful tour with Keese. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about all things WWII and the Anne Frank story. Keese made it personal with stories of his own family’s history. Definitely ask for Keese if you choose the tour.

Educational and mindful

Ivania_P, Jan 2024
Everything was memorable. However, for those with young children, keep in mind is a “walk tour” ( its a long walk… LONG for some kids) my 8 and 10 year were exhausted, by the time we arrived to the Anne Frank museum, they were very tired. Other than that, its a amazing tour , lots of historic moments and places.

Enlightening trip

Guadalupe_S, Jul 2023
Our guides knowledge of this history we were surprised on how incomplete the history of the ww2 years is and how much more needs to be found and documented.

Anne Frank and WW 2 tour

Laurie_A, Jul 2023
What a knowledgable young man! He knew so many nooks and crannies of Amsterdam’s historic WW 2 sites and Jewish history!

Great informative walking tour

ted_p, May 2023
Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to communicate his knowledge with us. He really knew his local Jewish history especially during the 1930’s & WWII. He had a passion for it all!

Good but short.

Margaret_D, Apr 2023
I gave this tour 3 stars but will recommend it. It's important, I believe to see this part of Amsterdam. Masha gave just the two of us a tour, which I hadn't expected. We saw important aspects of the Jewish area and she shared the history of Amsterdam as it pertained to the Jews living in this area and the markers now present to remember all who were lost. It's a beautiful and important remembrance. However, I think we could have done the entire tour in 1 hour. As it was we ended early. In the afternoon we took one of the Free Dam tours and the guide was born/raised/university educated in Amsterdam. He provided some details that could very well have been done in the morning....and should have....like a picture of the area on a map, etc.

Well worth it

Marc_K, Apr 2023
Misha was an excellent tour guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable, a pleasure to walk the city with, and flexible in the timing and itinerary or the tour. We learned a lot.

Amazing

Carol_H, Oct 2022
Our tour guide was Irish with a brogue accent and so down to earth. He spoke to is like he had known us forever. He had a great overall knowledge of history beyond even the tour he was giving. His stories of the past and how the Jews were forced to live brought the history alive for me and taught me a few things I was unaware of.

Very interesting and entertaining

Liam_G, Sep 2022
Booked this tour last minute since another tour operator canceled on us. I am very happy we were able to join the tour with such a short window of time left. The tour was extremely interesting with a fantastic guide.

The guide was lovely and a very good speaker !

Barbara_M, Jan 2022
The guide Peter was very friendly and patient. He gave very detailed explanations about Anne Frank and the surrounding area. He knows a lot and explains everything in a way that is very easy to understand. Would definitely recommend for anyone who has an interest in history.
