Ian was very helpful and his outgoing upbeat personality made a long drive passable. The city was amazing!!!! It was a long walk from the bus to the center , but it was filled with beautiful sites along the way! Ian's recommendations were perfect! Lunch was outstanding! Every where we walked was more beautiful than the last! Bruges was so beautiful!

Do this trip on your own. Don’t waste your money.

Betty_P, Apr 2026
The guide was in a bad mood and was nasty. The tour was listed as English but it was bilingual so 1/2 the time we were listening to another language, The bus arrived 30 minutes late, but the 30 minutes were not extended to our time in Bruges so we were cheated, The guide almost left my husband and I behind in Bruges because she left several minutes earlier than she said. When I asked her for directions back to the bus she gave us incomplete directions and we had to keep asking locals for directions. We overheard her refuse to help someone with a bathroom issue on the bus. She was cursing on the ride back to Amsterdam as she was sorting out the headphones. As we walked around with her on the one hour optional tour she repeatedly told us she was having a bad day. The city is beautiful, but you can’t enjoy it in 3 hours, Buy a train ticket and see the city at you leisure and without a bad-tempered Tour leader,

Disappointing

Suzanne_P, Apr 2026
I was looking forward to our day in Bruges: a place I have wanted to see since I was a teenager. Unfortunately we missed the tour completely. The meeting place was not clear for someone who is not from Amsterdam. We tried to use our GPS, but it kept making us walk in circles. We later realized that the place we were looking for was in the mall adjacent to the metro/ train station. Once we found the meeting place, there was another couple there who missed their bus, but they were able to reschedule. We were unable to reschedule due to time constraints. Sadly, there was no number to call to ask questions or to ask for help. Viator is an excellent company and we've taken their tours before. My suggestion is to have the group meet in a more common and recognizable location.

Wonderful day trip to beautiful Bruges.

One of the better tours we have done. Fantastic trip to Bruges. Plenty of time to explore the city. Great guide Ian. Very knowledgeable and kind.

Good tour

Great tour and great guide but very poor direction to finding the location to the main office where the tour starts. Was delayed in just finding the place.

Perfect for a day when you need a little bit more rest time but still want to see something new

Trina_M, Apr 2026
This is a good tour if you want to have a quick day trip to Bruges, Belgium and also need time to rest. You have a 3 hour drive to the city from Amsterdam and three hour trip back. In between then, you have a 45 minute to an hour tour of the city. After which you have three hours for yourself. This was a perfect amount of time to explore this tiny little city. I got to try a different foods, write /send postcards, visit different museums, and still managed to fit in good photo ops. I think this tour would go perfectly on a day when you need to rest a little bit but also still wanna see a lot of things in a short period of time.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Trina, Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your day trip to Bruges and found the balance between sightseeing and rest perfect. It’s great that you got to try local foods, visit museums, and capture good photos. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets

Tour cancelled w/o notice

Marilou_B, Dec 2025
It was disappointing because the operator cancelled the tour without us being notified ahead of time. We ended up switching it with another tour that has lesser value than we paid. It was difficult to get in touch with Viator on day of the tour. We could have made plans if proper notification was given.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Marilou, We’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Please note that we did inform our partner and sent a message through the Viator app, but it seems you did not receive it. We kindly advise you to contact the Viator support team so they can assist you further regarding this issue. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets

Short day in Brugge

Karen_K, Oct 2025
Brugge is lovely .I think the tour should start a hour earlier since it takes 3.5 hrs to get there to give you more time to see some of the sights. Tour guide Ian was delightful and knowledgeable.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dear Karen, Thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re happy you enjoyed beautiful Bruges and appreciated Ian’s guidance. Your suggestion about starting earlier is valuable and will be shared with our team. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets

The trip was great, but the guide seemed avoidant

Nicholas_W, Oct 2025
The experience itself was great, and worth the money and likely better than taking a train. The problem I encountered was the guide didn’t seem to want to engage with me for a reason I cannot explain. It appeared to me that he kept his focus on the small groups, which as a businessman I understand, he probably assumed it would lead to bigger tips for the guide. However, as a multimillionaire real estate investor in the Washington area, you assumed wrong that a solo traveler was to be ignored.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dear Nicholas, Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the trip overall and found it worthwhile. We’re sorry the guide interaction didn’t meet expectations and will share your comments with the team for improvement. Kind regards

Cute town!

Bruges

Lynn_H, Oct 2025
It was more of a transportation situation than a tour. The guide was so hard to listen to that we opted out of the hour tour once we got to Bruges. He wasn’t very friendly either-just cordial. No suggestions on what to do during our free time or where to go, just gave us a map.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dear Lynn, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the tour didn’t fully meet your expectations. We’re reviewing the guide experience and communication to make sure guests receive helpful tips and a more engaging visit in Bruges. Kind regards

Very long drive and tour guide was just average. Took tour a few years ago and was not as long. City was great on my own. Meeting place was easy to find.

Very good tour.

Lorraine_T, Sep 2025
A very good tour. Ian the guide and Richard the driver were amazing. Ian was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable - you could tell he loved his job. It is a long bus ride - 3+ hours - but there is plenty of time to enjoy beautiful Bruges.

No frills but worth the trip.

Letitia_D, Sep 2025
This was a good tour. The bus ride was 3 hours. Luka, our tour guide was okay. He really did not give us much information on the trip to Brugge during this 3-hour trip. When we did arrive, we were to have an hour guided tour of Brugge. However, he walked really fast during this tour. This might be due to how crowded it was but nevertheless it was a little disappointing. Brugge, itself was really good for seeing the churches, all the chocolate shoppes, restaurants and shopping. But it was really, really crowded. I would do this tour again because there is so much to see but not enough time to get it all in. The bus was very comfortable, no bathroom break (but one is on the bus if you want to use. There were water, soft drinks and beer available for purchase on board. Please bring snacks if you get hungry and you much purchase your own food in Brugge it is not provided on this tour, pretty much just transportation from Amsterdam to Brugge.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed Bruges despite the crowds and appreciate your understanding about the pace and facilities. Your feedback helps us improve future tours. We hope to see you again for more exploring! Kind regards

Brugge for One

Eileen_F, Sep 2025
Excellent day trip. Ian gave wonderful information about the Netherlands, Belgium, Bruge, and many other things with humor and intelligence in two languages. His restaurant and chocolatier recommendations were helpful. The introductory walking tour was informative and well-paced. If you don’t have some sights planned on your own you might feel like the free time is too much. Do some research. Have a plan.

Bruges is worth the long drive, which flew by because you’re driving through a foreign country—much to see.

Great transportation option to Bruges

Anthony_W, Sep 2025
This tour is basically a very convenient way to do a day trip in Bruges if you aren't driving. The driver did a great job of getting us to Bruges a little ahead of schedule and getting us back 30 minutes early which everyone appreciated. The tour guide was disappointing. He gave us very little information on the way to Bruges. once we arrived in Bruges we were given headsets which was a good idea considering how many of us there were. Then during the 30 minute walk, while racing from the parking lot to the main square he gave us some information in English and then in Spanish. So we were walking fast trying to keep the tour guide in sight dodging cars, bikes, horsedrawn carriages not to mention hordes of people. It was hard to listen at the same time and the guide never stopped to point out any sights. So if you take this tour as a great transportation option to Bruges and not for any information a guide could provide you won't be disappointed. I would give the driver 5 stars and the guide maybe 2 stars.

Day well spent

Tapas_R, Sep 2025
Our day trip to Bruges was fantastic! Everything was perfectly on schedule, with no delays in the bus timings, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We had plenty of time to explore the beautiful town on our own, which was a huge plus. My only minor suggestion for improvement would be the commentary. While our guide was skilled at switching between English and Spanish, it was a bit jarring and hard to follow when they switched languages with every sentence. I'd recommend sticking to one language per sentence or paragraph to make the information easier to absorb. Overall, it was a great tour and I would highly recommend it!

A great one-day trip to Bruges. A long drive, but absolutely worth it. Adrian, our tour leader, was great and very knowledgeable.

Enjoyable Experience

Mark_C, Aug 2025
The trip was punctual, well organized, fact filled and thoroughly enjoyable. Plenty of free time to explore on your own. Ian is a talented guide who is passionate about his work. Pete, our driver, kept us safe and on time. Long ride but worth it. Bring snacks and drinks for the ride.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Dear Mark, Thank you for the thoughtful review! We’re thrilled you had an enjoyable and informative trip. Ian and Pete will be happy to hear your kind words. We agree—Bruges is worth the ride! Kind regards

Great tour

Amazing day trip...

Antara_N, Jul 2025
Mr G is an amazing guide who gave us a lot of historical context and updates about Bruges, the various sites and suggested a place where we could first taste the pralines before buying them. We even ate at a restaurant of his recommendation and it was v good (had a rabbit dish there). The best pictures we took were on our way back as the crowds had thinned n most were exhausted! In the morning, the place is v crowded with everyone trying to secure the best spots for pics and videos. But enjoy the historic places. It's small and compact. Interesting that almost all the restaurants had the same price for the same dish! But the places in the back lanes are less crowded! There is a water fountain close to the choclate museum. You will need lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Because the bus is non-stop to Bruges, they have a toilet on the bus. The canals are v pretty with the flowers, some have swans but most stores look similar, sell almost identical stuff. It's worth an entire day

It’s a 6 hour bus ride around trip. We went there on a Saturday, also one of the hottest days of the year. It was very crowded and burning. The town was beautiful.

Cristin_P, May 2025
This is a really nice option for getting a day trip in to Bruges when staying in Amsterdam. It’s a lot of time on the bus getting to and from the town but it was a good amount of time spent in Bruges itself.

A Fairytale Trip

Priscilla_E, May 2025
Bruges was beautiful! I always wanted to see it, despite the 3-1/2 hr bus ride each way. Our tour guide, G was personable and even came around the bus to ask if we had special questions. When we arrived he guided us through the area, a walk of about a kilometer, to show us how to get to the main square. People who didn’t want to venture off on their own could meet him before departure time. The rest of us had about 3 hrs to explore the gorgeous architecture, canal boat trips and many decadent chocolate shops Our driver, G also, was cautious, prompt and we were comfortable. A great day!

Response from Host, May 2025

Dear Priscilla, Thank you for the amazing review! We’re so pleased to hear that your day trip to Bruges felt like a fairytale. It’s lovely that both the guide and driver made the long journey comfortable and enjoyable, and that you had enough time to explore the beautiful city on your own. We’re glad it was a memorable day for you! Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
