Itinerary

The greatest benefit of this tour is visiting the Colosseum under cover of darkness, when the crowds have gone home and summer temperatures drop. The tour is also tailored to you and a small group, providing an intimate exploration of one of Italy’s most popular attractions.

Meet your group and guide at a tour office on Via Frangipani near the Colosseo metro station, where you enjoy a slice of pizza and glass of wine. Then, enter the Colosseum nearby with special after-hours access and explore underground areas that are usually off-limits to the general public.

After about 1.5 hours exploring the Colosseum, head to the Via dei Fori Imperiali, an imperial street that runs from Piazza Venezia straight to the Colosseum. Walk in the footsteps of emperors and gladiators and finish the tour back at the Colosseum.

The Ancient Rome tour involves Steps and a lot of walking on un-even path especially in the Roman Forum . We highly suggest flat confortable shoes. This tour is not suitable for any person with recent surgeries, with disabilities and for people in wheelchairs due to the street level , up street level and steps.

Guide was awesome, everything about this tour was amazing. They could upgrade their radios as they got staticy if you were too far from guide.

We did not enter the collesium for almost 2 hours of our starting time. Instead we walked around the area for two hours tour various other ruins. We didn’t enter the collesium until 10 pm, tour ended after 11 but ended with a waste of time movie.

Hello, Please note that you booked the Colosseum at Night After-Hours Tour and as written in the tour description this is a night tour of the Colosseum that begins with an aperitif at our office, continues onto Via dei Fori Imperiali to visit Ancient Rome and only after that you enter the Colosseum. This is the tour you booked and this is the tour we delivered.

This tour was a highlight of our time in Rome. Matteo was did a great job of touring our group that included children, around the Roman Forums area before leading us to the Colosseum where another excellent guide toured us throughout the inside and underground of the Colosseum. The guides were well prepared and excellent in their presentations. Highly recommended!

Colosseum at Night-Priceless

Our tour guide was AWESOME!!! She did an excellent job of making the history exciting and interesting with lots of silly and trivial facts. She used a tablet at the ruin sites to show what the buildings would have looked like completed. I was very excited when she stayed with us in the Colosseum and continued the tour. I had my two kids with me (13 and 16) the three of us spent the next night at dinner telling our traveling group all the fun facts we learned. Only drawback was we did the tour the night before we left Rome and I highly recommend doing it in the beginning. She helped to tie in information to other sites to form a clearer picture.

The timing mentioned on the ad is off. The check in was not until 7:45; 90 min walking tour was badly done, the info provided could have been covered in 30 minutes. We arrived at the Colosseum after 9:45 and the second part of the tour lasted 75 minutes. Different guide for that part which was great

The night tour was good but the first part of our trip before the Colosseum went on a to long, our guide took too long to cover a short distance and lost the interest of the group as well as arriving at the Colosseum later than expected. Once we got to the Colosseum with a different guide it was informative and very good. The best time of the day to see the place, no crowds, great photo opportunities and not too hot.

Die Sehenswuerdigkeiten Forum Romanum und Kolosseum nachts stimmungsvoll beleuchtet betrachten zu koennen, war ein Hammererlebnis! Man hatte ein ganz anderes Feeling in den halb dunklen Gaengen des Kolosseums umherzuwandern. An manchen Waenden waren kleine Filmchen oder Schattenspielchen, die uns noch mehr in den Bann gezogen haben.
