Amazing Pastel de Nata Workshop

This was an amazing experience led by Filipa. She was extremely patient teaching everyone and made the class fun and interactive! She explained the history of the pastry and answered any questions. Wonderful experience! Very enjoyable experience . Food we prepared was delicious. A real hands on experience . Went to market first to get the food and while there had delicious bread , cheese and meats. Learned about the different breads. Instructor was delightful . Lot’s of wine!

Our experience started at the market, where Paula walked us through the local stalls, showing us fresh seasonal ingredients, fresh seafood, and traditional produce while sharing fascinating insights into local food culture. Back in the kitchen, the cooking portion was an absolute blast. Paula is a warm, engaging, and knowledgeable guide who made every step of the process enjoyable and easy to follow. We had so much fun preparing the dishes together and learning authentic techniques that we can’t wait to recreate at home. And of course, the best part was eating our delicious meal together! Cooking class in Lisboa..

This was the best cooking class ever…. The staff was amazing and the menu was spectacular.. cheese selection with wine (lots of wine) while we prepared the meal. Followed by soup, cod fritters (my description), rice with shredded duck baked with chorizo slices followed by a delectable dessert topped with plum sauce.. simply delicious!! The group worked well together.. a good time by all!

Wonderful cooking class in Belem, Lisbon.

The cooking class was hands-on and included several courses, finishing up with pastel de nata. Theresa was an excellent teacher and gave history and context for the recipes, which was helpful. The only challenge was she did not get information I put into the Viator reservation about one person in my group not having any alcohol in the food, but she made modifications on the spot which was very appreciated. We have taken cooking classes across the world and this was one of our favorites...and not just because we took home a lot of leftovers, but that didn't hurt. 😀

Katija creates an amazing experience!

This was the most wonderful find while visiting Portugal. Katija was so wonderful in welcoming us into her home. She filled the afternoon with plenty of stories, history of the area and of course delicious meals! Everything about the experience felt extremely welcoming and would love to do it again. I loved the cooking class so much! Such a cool way to get some hands on experience of Portuguese culture. Our host Martha was also incredible! The class was perfect and it was so fun working in pair with our friends. I also loved that the provide you recipe cards at the end so you can just focus on the experience during the class.

We loved it!!

We had the BEST time at this Pastel de Nata baking class! We went on my daughter’s birthday as a group of 6. It was such a fun time! Our host was so engaging and skilled. He made the baking seem super easy and our Pasteis de Nata turned out to be DELICIOUS! The best we had our entire trip!! Well worth the time!

Approachable, delicious fun cooking!

Paula is a most gracious and knowledgeable teacher! I’ve taken many cooking classes and she taught me several tricks I’d never learned before. She caters to what your preferences are regarding protein selection, spices and flavor profiles. I personally enjoyed the 1:1 lesson but could easily recommend having another person . Paula made sure I performed many of the tasks and used the techniques she taught giving me a real sense of competence . She also allowed flexibility within the recipes giving variations I could use at home. The ingredients were all very fresh and obtainable back in the USA. One of the best parts was it was fun! I mean she keeps the joy within the class. She truly loves food and cooking which shows in her teaching. I’m most anxious to make these for friends when I return home. If ever in Lisbon again I’d for sure take another lesson from Paula🩷
