We ended up having to switch our date because of circumstances that were out of our control and Viator was so accommodating. Our chef Pedro was amazing. He was very welcoming and patient. His instructions were easy to follow and he gave us great advice and demonstrated excellent techniques. I would recommend this experience to all!

Miguel was a great culinary instructor! He easily managed a group of 12 and taught us how to make several traditional Portuguese dishes that we got to enjoy at the end of the class. Highly recommend if you like Portuguese cuisine and want to be able to make some classics at home.

This cooking class experience was everything and more than we were expecting. Our teacher, Beatriz did such an amazing job guiding us through the menu (Cod Fish Dish, Pork Dish, Rice Dish, Egg Dish, and Dessert!) and helping the group produce an amazing meal!! My friends and I loved this class and Beatriz, as she was very friendly and personable! 100% would recommend to anyone looking to immerse yourself in Portuguese culture through food! They even sang Happy Birthday, which was a nice and welcome surprise. I can’t say enough good things!

Great menu and instructions. Would like to have the opportunity to prepare more dishes. Group was great although a few food restrictions impacted the experience. Instructor was very accommodating.

Good experience, OK food, but felt misled by menu.

First I will say the the class building and staff were wonderful! It was very clean and well organized. The lady who led our class kept things moving in a very enjoyable timely manner that made the time fly by! I gave 3 starts because I was disappointed with the actual menu vs what was listed as a sample menu on the website. This trip with my sister is very special and we won't get to do something like this again. There were many classes to choose from and we chose this specific class carefully based on the Sample Menu which listed 3 starters: Caldo-verde, Pica-pau, Amêijoa à Bulhão Pato (Clams Bulhão Pato Style); several Main Dishes: Bacalhau à Brás (Codfish Brás Style), Pataniscas de Bacalhau (Codfish Fritters), Carne de Porco com Amêijoas (Pork meat with Clams), Migas com Entrecosto (Pork Ribs with Migas); and several Desserts: Pastel de Nata, Arroz Doce (Rice Pudding), and Torta de laranja (Orange Roll). I assumed we would be making all that food. We made a different appetizer altogether (friend deviled eggs). We did make 3 main dishes: Migas com Entrecosto (Pork Ribs with Migas). Beans & Rice, and a cod dish (Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá). The fish was already cooked so we just flaked it. Although that saved time I wanted to learn how to cook fish (another reason I chose this class) but didn't get to. For dessert we made the famous Pastel de Nata. The cooking process was well organized and very enjoyable, but I was very disappointed not to make one of the appetizers listed. I'm not a fan of eggs and would have chosen a different class knowing that was our appetizer. When I'm paying so much for a class I research the details expecting to get what I read on the description. Our teacher told us the pork is normally marinated overnight and then cooked. I understand why - it was very tough once cooked. I enjoy Pastel de Nata but was very excited to make the other desserts listed. If I ever get another chance to do this type of class I will ask more questions about the specific menu. Or perhaps the description can be more clear about what food is being made. Overall, I recommend taking a cooking class in Lisbon and if the specific dishes listed are not important to you then take THIS CLASS!

    Cooking with Bea!

    Anita_J, May 2026
It’s very interactive with the other guests! Bea was fantastic, the prep was simple/easy, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. The sound with another class going on made it very difficult to hear when we were sitting at the table. Some simple sound proofing on the divided ‘wall’ would help tremendously.

    Great fun!

This is a very fun cooking class. Miguel was our instructor. He did an amazing job and helped the class have fun. Highly recommend this class.

Do it for the plot and pics!

    Claudia_J, Apr 2026
I really enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend it! The kitchen is modern, clean, and well-organized. When you arrive to the class, the ingredients are all portioned out (cooking show style) for you to work in pairs. There were solo traveler. We all vibed and they had just as much fun as everyone else. Miguel, our instructor was friendly and kind. We made 4 dishes and pastel de nata. The food was flavorful and fun to make. One traditional dish (Bacalhau à Brás) was rehydrated dried, salted cod with potatoes, onions, and boiled eggs. Um…not a combination I have to have ever again. But, it’s better than is sounds and we had so much fun with everyone. The other guests drank a ton of wine and they kept everyone’s glass full. I don’t drink, but the mango juice was yummy. I do wish they reminded people to wash their hands more. If you are a germaphobe, beware. You are eating food your classmates prepare. I washed my hands at least 5-7 times. Some people washed just once. A simple sign with handwashing suggestions would help. But, still, it deserves my 5⭐️ because these are very “me” issues. Book it! Do it for the plot and pics!

Surprise cooking experience for our friend

    Barbara_T, Apr 2026
We organised the experience as a surprise for a friend. Our host Theresa was most welcoming and made it a special occasion singing happy birthday as we arrived! We all loved the cooking experience and would definitely do it again.

    Wonderful Experience!

    Grayson_S, Dec 2025
Stress-free, easy going and fun cooking class, Pedro our instructor was amazing, he taught how to cook traditional Portugese meals in a way we won’t forget, extremely knowledgable guy! Would recommend this for anyone new to Portugese food, also would recommend checking with the company to ensure which location you are at as there are two different locations, Viator gave us the address for the location we weren’t supposed to be at, it was no biggie though just be mindful!

    Wonderful afternoon

We absolutely loved our time and would recommend it to anyone who enjoy cooking, eating and knowing more about Portuguese cuisine.

A Delicious and Authentic Taste of Lisbon

    Maranda_M, Dec 2025
This Lisbon cooking class was a fantastic experience. I was able to try truly authentic dishes that I likely never would have tasted outside of the class, and every dish was delicious. I really enjoyed the communal atmosphere and connecting with others during the experience. Learning about Lisbon’s history and how it relates to the dishes we prepared added an extra layer that made the class even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to enjoy great food while gaining a deeper appreciation for Lisbon’s culture.

We did an 11am lunch class with my husband and adult son and daughter. The facility was clean, modern and inviting. Our chef/teacher Beatriz was engaging and personable—sharing insights about the food and culture and personalized it with amusing stories about her family and life. We learned a lot, had fun and enjoyed the fruits of our labor. Highly recommend!
