No Wonder David Has Fantastic Legs Under That Kilt!

I had a great experience. David did a great job keeping us together, and making sure we all could hear him. He gave a lot of history, not just of the castle, but of Edinburgh itself. He is a fantastic speaker, and I enjoyed him very much. Just a heads up, though, this tour is a lot of walking…uphill. Some pretty steep. I expected to be walking a lot, it is a walking tour after all, just not uphill. This is true of the city, too, lots of uphill walking. No wonder David has fantastic legs!

Ricky was a fantastic guide! He took us to the biggest sights along the Royal Mile and in Edinburgh Castle, all while (generally) avoiding crowds and telling great stories about the history of Edinburgh. It’s a great way to get into Edinburgh Castle if tickets fill up.

We had an amazing time on our 3-day Isle of Skye tour! Every part of the trip was well organized, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. From the dramatic landscapes to the charming stops along the way, it truly felt like something out of a dream. Our guide, Sam, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable with great stories and local insights. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to take everything in. This tour was the highlight of our trip, and we’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Scotland. We loved every minute of it!

Excellent well planned and executed trip

It’s a very well planned day with regular stops for photos, food toilets. It was beautiful itinerary with spectacular scenery. Our tour guide/ driver Phil was very informative as we drove through different areas providing information about geography and historical significance of the areas. It was a a 11 hour day but the breaks we had getting off the bus made it very tolerable.

We had a tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the history of the Edinburgh Castle and Scottish history in general. He gave an excellent tour and an excellent talk. Plus he was also accommodating to my husband's need to sit down at times and sit close so he could hear the talk. I don't know about the other tour guides—I suppose all are at least competent—but ours was outstanding and I would recommend this tour to anyone, young or old.

Lochness and Glencoe Highlands Tour Pros - 7 minibuses were booked but well organised from start at bus station, very good and knowledgeable driver Andy, van has USB charger, clean, good airconditioning, modern, views were exceptional, Lochness and Glencoe Highlands enough for this trip but stopped at other major spots for photos, and toilets!! Beautiful 21 degrees C temperature at the highlands when we were there. Cons- it is a 12 hr tour so be aware, arrived at Loch ness around 12 noon, toilets are next to pertrol station, long queues, we only had a few minutes to get to queue for lochness tour at 1 pm, eat own food we took with us otherwise no time to eat in restaurant, then run to toilet after 1 hr tour, to be abck at 2pm in minbus, a bit rushed but i guess its the only way to fit activities in busy Lochness

A long day but worth the effort

You really cant come to Scotland and not see the highlands and Loch Ness, but if you arent planning to stay there then a long day trip out of Glascow or Edinburgh is your only option and this is a long day - 10 + hours. But the effort was worth it. The highlands are spectacular and Loch Ness is stunning and far bigger than I had imagined. The boat cruise is a must if you have made the effort to get there. We had two hours for our stop at Loch Ness which was enough time to walk around get lunch and do to the cruise. We had 4 other stops along the way including the lovely lottle village of Falkirk. Our driver (Peter) was great he added a lot of history to the journey and had a great sense of humour which eased the tedium of the time on the bus. A long day for sure, but the highlights were worth it.

Memorable Scotland Day Trip

Overall, I had a very good experience and really enjoyed the trip. Pros: The tour was well organised and took us to beautiful and suitable places. The journey was long (over 12 hours and more than 420 km), but it was worth it. Our driver, Alan, was very friendly, experienced, and provided useful explanations about the places and Scotland history. Cons: The lunch break was too short. If you choose to join a boat tour or any activity, there is almost no time left for lunch. I understand that this is a one-day trip, so time is limited. However, it would be better if there was slightly more time to explore and enjoy each stop.

Great fun & interesting tour

What a fab, interesting and fun way to see another side of Edinburgh..well worth seeing! Jordan our tour guide was very entertaining & knowledgeable making it both informative and entertaining at the same time! Just something worth noting..the meeting point is opposite the Deacon Brodies Tavern which I wish we had known as it’s not mentioned when you make the booking!
