The tour was excellent....

The tour was excellent. We couldn’t get tickets to the castle because they were sold out. Thru the tour, we got entrance tickets as well as a 1.5 hours tour. The tour guide spoke clearly and was very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

Your tour guide makes the experience come to life, and Davy was absolutely amazing. By the end of the tour he knew all of our names and made it interactive. He was funny and put context around what was going on at the time which really brought the history to life.

Great way to see the upper part of the Royal Mile and learn about various places and some history on Edinburgh. After an introduction to the castle, got to tour the exhibits on our own.. Nice snack shop to eat at before touring all of the exhibits. a separate detailed tour of the castle can be obtained at the visitor center.,

Don’t pass this up!

MUCH better than I expected! The Castle’s general admission tickets were sold out on the only day I could visit so, in desperation, I booked this tour because it included admission. I wasn’t expecting much more from the tour than to learn the layout of the Castle but, to my delight, Melanie Boyd was an amazing tour guide and host. I consider myself a history buff but I learned quite a bit from her tour, even more so because her stories were delivered with a warm yet wicked sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it (or any of Melanie’s tours) to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

A wonderful day trip

This 13 hour tour was amazing! Our tour guide/ driver was excellent and told great stories and shared so much knowledge with us! It really felt like a personal experience even though our tour probably had 30+ people. It was truly a wonderful experience full of beautiful scenery and plenty of picturesque moments

Loved St. Andrews

This was a great way to see several places just outside Edinburgh. We loved St. Andrew’s, but personally could have done without the fishing village and had more time at St. Andrews. Did enjoy Falkland however. Our driver Dave provided detailed and informative commentary. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Fun, informative, educational day

What a fantastic day. We got to see, hear about and experience so much of Scotland. Be aware you have an early start and a long day to fit in so much. Paul was a fantastic guide and driver. We couldn’t have asked for better. He imparted so much knowledge and introduced us to some amazing music. I definitely recommend!

Excellent comfy choice

We had the most amazing time with Andrew, the smartest and funniest tour guide ever met. The itinerary was very much as described in the Tour details. We visited so many beautiful places and stayed at a wonderful local B&B in Portree. We took the trip in mid-July, which was perfect for us as we don’t enjoy extremely cold weather. Most of the journey was by minibus, with plenty of scenic stops and convenient breaks along the way. Everyone in the group was friendly and kind, and the entire experience was truly unforgettable. We also learned so much throughout the tour. The Isle of Skye is simply magical—its nature and beauty are unlike anything we have ever seen.

It was fascinating learning about the history of the Edinburgh bridge vaults. The tour guide was informative and engaging while walking the group through dark and damp corridors. Even though the long history of the vaults is generally depressing, I found the experience very worthwhile.
