Best sights on a bad day

We happened to be in Belfast in a bad day! There was much unrest in the city so it greatly affected the course of our intended journey. Our driver and guide Stephen was fabulous, got us to the castle, the giants causeway and rope bridge before making the decision that is was in our best interest to head back to the ship. He was very concerned with our safety and well being during the entire trip and kept us informed as to what was happening and how sorry he was.

A good trip you don't have much time.

If you're fortunate enough to get Gary for your driver and tour guide then you're in for a jolly time. His information and sense of humour made this trip so much more enjoyable. Gary gave us the tip that when going into the visiting centre they will charge you to go down to see the causeway, when in actual fact it's free to visit if you walk through the short tunnel. The cost of our trip is mainly for the transport there and back and obviously for the knowledge of the driver.

This GOT Studio Tour was definitely on my bucket list and I’m so happy I had the chance to check this experience off! A personal highlight was sitting on the Iron Throne for a little photoshoot! YAY!! The travel distance on the tour bus was easy, approximately 45 minutes to Banbridge in Northern Ireland. The unexpected highlight was our tour guide “Bud”!! He was so great throughout our voyage sharing tidbits of Irish History and even sharing some Irish songs that served as a soundtrack for the remainder of my time in Ireland. He was even so thoughtful to surprise and sing Happy Birthday to one of the tour attendees. He resonated PURE JOY and I was so grateful we had the opportunity to have him as our guide to Westeros! 😉❄️💜

Paul is the most amazing tour guide we have ever met. What enchanting storytelling he does! He is so knowledgeable about history, geography, culture, and current affairs. The way he connected the past to the present took us back to times we never got to live through or witness, yet we deeply felt every moment as he described them. Even my boys (12 and 14), who are usually not good listeners, were completely intrigued and listened attentively throughout. Best tour ever! I learned so much about the troubles. I never expected to be moved by the struggles and the pain that are still very much a part of life today. It was amazing to hear the stories from someone who has lived through the times and continues to educate people so that we never forget. We (as a society in whole) tend to choose to forget and/or ignore pains that aren't our own. During this tour we got to briefly experience those pains but also the hope of the healing of a whole nation.

If you are on the cruise that lands in Belfast, and want to go on the Game of Thrones studio tour, this tour is for you. The cruise shuttle off loads very close to where you are picked up for the Game of Thrones tour which very nice. The studio tour itself is a self tour with plenty of time for you to finish it. You are picked up after the tour and taken back to the location you were picked up, which again is close to the cruise shuttle pick up. I would highly recommend this tour.
