Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam. When the pressure in these pockets exceeds the weight of the water above, the steam breaks through in geysers that rocket up to 820 feet (250 meters) high. Don’t worry about getting a shower though, the crater is 1,050 feet (320 meters) deep. At almost a mile (1.6 km) across it’s also the largest active crater in the world. Great animal spotting tour

The tour guide spotted animals that would’ve been impossible for us to find. We saw a sloth from afar, many different types of frogs, and much more. The tour guide gave us interesting facts along the way, such as the type types of sloths that live in Costa Rica. We had a great time and would totally recommend!!

We had an amazing driver named Dennis! He was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and respectful throughout our trip. He gave us a wonderful tour of every city we visited, from the airport to W Costa Rica, and made the journey so much more enjoyable. Excellent Transportation — Smooth, Professional and Friendly! We had an excellent experience with this transportation company. They were extremely professional, punctual, and attentive, and the driving was very smooth. I’m prone to motion sickness and actually became very sick during another excursion in Costa Rica, but with these drivers I had absolutely no motion sickness at all, which I really appreciated. The drivers were also very friendly, talkative, and personable, so the rides were enjoyable and never felt awkward. One thing I wasn’t aware of beforehand is that they also offer excursions and tours. Based on how professional and friendly they were—and especially how smoothly they drove—I would definitely recommend looking into the other tours they offer as well. Overall, excellent service and great drivers. I would absolutely use them again!

Family tour in Manuel Antonio Park

Can be a little busy even if you are with a small group. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable with a good sense of humour. The swim at the end of the tour was great. We wore hiking trousers but I wouldn’t bother next time, shorts are fine. We also caught the local bus which drops you right next to the park and is cheap!

Great airport transfer experience

Got a transfer with Yorlin from Liberia Aiport to La Fortuna. Yorlen was there on time, was a friendly and a safe driver. He took us to a great restaurant for dinner on the way and navigated us on the dark windy and wet roads to La Fortuna with ease. Very professional and we are so glad we had his help instead of driving ourselves after a 6 hour flight!

Exceptional service from start to finish! José, our driver, was fantastic! He picked us up right on time at the airport and was super friendly throughout the entire trip. Day full of fun

This tour was a blast. We started with the waterfall, which was incredible and a decent trek up/down some stairs. The volcano hike was so fun. Our guide was telling us and showing us lots of medicinal plants along the way. We saw 2 sloths, some howler monkeys, and lots of beautiful plants. Hiking through the jungle and getting to see the magma rock and volcano was so cool. Lunch was delicious. We finished with the natural hot springs that the locals love and the guide even had a traditional clay face mask we could put on and then rinse off in the springs. A very relaxing way to end a day of hiking.

Airport Transfer to/from El Mangroove

Very good transportation company. Our driver Daniel met us outside the airport after we secured our bags from baggage claim. He was easy to find and very helpful. We used the same company for our return home. Our flight was delayed over an hour and the driver waited at our resort as we worked through the departure delay and potential flight cancellation. Again excellent experience on the ride back to Liberia airport.

Would use this company again

I used this company when I traveled to la fortuna and from. They were very nice and through my flight delay, they remained in contact with me. The shuttle waited extra time for me and I very much appreciated them for that! If I’d missed the shuttle, I would’ve lost time in La fortuna. They had WiFi (spotty bc most of the drive is remote) and A/C which you can control (like a plane). Little tip: if you have a habit of getting motion sickness, take Dramamine or likewise, and sit towards the front; the drive through the narrow winding roads at higher elevations, was a bit much. (Not complaining bc completely expected that drive :) )
