Amazing experience!

My partner and I had the absolute privilege of having Carlos as our shuttle guide driver. Carlos was excited to tell us all about the culture and beauties of Guatemala. As first-time visitors, we had zero idea what we were doing and Carlos recommended us many restaurants and activities, also let us stop for food and scenic pictures as our travel day was long and we were starving. He also proceeded to set us up with a friend of his to help finish off the rest of our transport so it was super easy for us to get to our hotel. Amazing experience.

Wow ! Unforgettable journey

Wow, This is a spectacular trip. The guides were very helpful, professional and eager to make the experience a super memorable one. This is no cake walk. Be prepared to push yourself. The tour organizer provides pretty much all the specific support you need so don’t over pack. Remember you are carrying everything all the way up and all the way down. Bring warming layers, maybe some electrolyte tabs or powder and small backpack packable snack. Also recommend a light sturdy pair of hiking/trekking boots. The rewards for your work on this one is worth it! Enjoy

Great experience! Easy pickup by Guy- great drive to and back from meeting spot. He gave us a ton of information about local and regional experiences. Local guide and cow dogs were amazing. The driver met us right by outside the airport. He was in touch with me the day prior to confirm our flight information and destination. When we arrived he had a sign with my name up so we could locate him. Our flight landed at 10:00 pm and we were headed to antigua. On our way there he asked if we wanted him to stop at a convenience store since everything in antigua might be closed. We happily accepted the offer.Edgar was great!

This was a must do...

This was a must do experience in Antigua! I have never driven an ATV and it was very easy and so fun. Our guide was awesome and was very informative. Stopped at Cerro de la Cruz and then drove through Antigua to Jocotenango to visit Finca La Azotea. Had a great tour learning about how coffee beans are grown, processed, and roasted. Then, we got to try their three different roasts. Additionally, we went to their chocolate factory and got a lesson on how cacao beans are processed to make chocolate. Our guide was great and took pictures and videos of us! 10/10 experience and would totally do it again the next time I visit!

Best Excursion of the Trip – A Joyful, Shared ExperienceI

I went into this cooking class expecting to learn specific recipes (a teaspoon of this, a half cup of that), but what I actually took away was far more valuable. I learned how much Guatemalans value food and meals as deeply shared experiences. In that sense, it was one of the most insightful and memorable lessons of our entire vacation.There were 12 of us “students,” and the chef was brilliant connecting with each of us. With his warm personality, humor, and perfectly timed pours of wine, he turned the evening into a lively, festive gathering. We all became his sous chefs around a large, beautifully arranged prep table filled with ingredients for an appetizer, soup, entrée, and dessert. Everyone pitched in with prep tasks—mine included chopping vegetables and then making the fresh tortilla dough. (Somehow the chef sensed I’d been experimenting passionately with pizza dough at home for months—talk about a magical touch!)The real highlight was the group dynamic. Complete strangers quickly felt like old friends. We laughed, talked nonstop, and connected in a way that only happens when people are cooking, eating, and sharing wine together.The evening was pure joy from start to finish. I may not have walked away with new technical cooking skills, but I gained a genuine appreciation for the Guatemalan approach to food as something communal and celebratory. Easily the most entertaining and heartfelt 4 hours we spent on any excursion. Highly recommended!

Moderately strenuous hike...

Moderately strenuous hike for first 1-1.5 hours up the volcano but with beautiful views and frequent stops. Our guide Ervin was amazing and taught us a lot about the history of the volcano and its recent eruptions as well as the local plants and their intricacies. There is an option for horseback ride up the mountain as well. Well worth it for the views of the volcano as well as the pizza and marshmallowsz

Fantastic Tour and ATV Experience - LOVE Hobbitenango

Our tour guide, Erick, was wonderful! We really enjoyed the entire tour. Erick was very good and particular about how to drive the ATV. We felt very safe with all the street crossings and on the return ride in the dark. The stops were perfect! We loved Hobbitenango, a truly spectacular experience and great sunset spot. Also we appreciated Erick sharing more about his Mayan group and the local histories. I would definitely recommend this tour!
