A professional Tour Guide from Continental City Tours will come pick your family up at the time your tour reservation at a hotel/restaurant/museum within the Washington D.C. National Mall/Downtown or the Arlington VA area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about your pick up location and we are happy to verify on our end as sometimes the online system does not have all hotels listed or says it is outside the radius when it isn't- please just message/text us directly the address and we can confirm or recommend the nearest point. The reason for the pick up radius is to maximize your 4 hour tour time to dedicate to the tour itinerary/memorials and history. Your guide is the driver- he/she will remain in the vehicle and explain the history, significance, and more during your tour as you drive by many important buildings such as the National Archives, FBI Headquarters, Air and Space Museum and so much more! Your family will be able to step down and walk on the external grounds of the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, explore and walk throughout the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and so much more! We are more than happy to make changes/modifications to Memorials/Monuments during your tour. If you are driving or have a car, please send us a message so we can provide you an address to park your car for free either within D.C. (weekends) or near The Pentagon (weekdays), your guide would be able pick you up and take you back to your car at the end of the tour. Thank-you. We appreciate your support!
Itinerary
Your day begins with pickup from your centrally located Washington DC or Arlington, VA hotel.
Begin your tour at the President's Church and walk to the front of the White House. Then, from teh US Capitol, take in panoramic views of the National Mall.
After passing the Washington Monument, your next stop is the World War II Memorial, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Two contrasting monuments are next: the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial.
Your next stop is the Arlington National Cemetery, the country’s largest military cemetery. Your tour includes a visit to John F. Kennedy's grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and you can also see the Changing of the Guard if you make a request beforehand.
U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial are the final two stops before your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

The tour was outstanding, and our tour guide was exceptional. She was so knowledgable, and went out of her way to make sure we were able to complete most of the itinerary, even though DC was crowded and some streets were closed due to Memorial Day weekend. Highly recommend!

Driving DC can be difficult - especially when you don't know where you are going! This wonderful experience allowed our family to enjoy the monuments without the stress of trying walk miles and miles or catch the metro over and over again when we don't know which bus ends up where!
We also learned a lot from Fiona, our guide. She was kind and made the experience a family friendly and fun time. We were able to see all of the sites we wanted to see.

We went for a 4 hour guided private tour as we were first timers in DC. This tour helped in getting a lay of the land but came at a price. Nick tried to accommodate our requests but felt that the tour was very rushed. We were also late to add to our poor planning, thanks to our aviation friends. This is a decent option to try out but if you have time and some research already done, this option is passable.

Private Car is the best way to see DC. Jessica was in touch with us prior to our pick-up at our Hotel. She drove around DC for an overview, then we stopped at various Memorials. At the Vietnam Memorial, we were able to have extra time which is what we wanted. Jessica was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. This is her family's business, and her pride in it shows. I highly recommend this company. It was the Highlight of our trip.

We were traveling with my dad who was in a wheelchair so decided to do a private tour of the monuments. All of the group tours would have been too rushed getting him in and out of the van or bus. This also allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at the monuments, we were really interested in. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She made sure to make it very easy for my dad by parking close when it was time to be picked up from one location to the next. I would highly recommend this option for touring the monuments!

This is a family run business and it felt as if we were a part of their family getting a tour of DC. They allowed us to stop or bypass locations we had already seen and Jessica was very knowledgeable of the history of DC and connected it to the larger history of America. She offered suggestions for places we hadn't been or for when we come back. I would recommend this tour as the first thing you do if you have no idea what you want to do.
