Mild to Wild Rafting in Castle Valley: The Chillest Dadventure Chapter Yet
When your "Dadventure" schedule already includes death-defying swings and sunrise balloon flights, you figure it’s time to slow things down with a gentle float down the Colorado River. Smart move. Mild to Wild nailed it. We drifted through Castle Valley like we were in a nature documentary, except with better snacks and zero risk of getting eaten by wildlife. The red rock towers looming over us were absolutely ridiculous — like someone gave Mother Nature a box of Legos and told her to go big. Every bend in the river brought another “whoa” moment. Our guide, Tom, was the MVP of the day. The man knows his stuff. He kept us laughing while dropping nonstop facts about Moab’s geology, the river’s history, and why those giant rock formations look like they were designed by a very ambitious alien. Zero boring lecture vibes — just perfect mix of funny stories and cool info that actually stuck. It was the ideal Dadventure breather: peaceful, scenic, and just floaty enough to make us feel like we earned a nap. No screaming, no white knuckles, just good conversation, epic views, and quality father-daughter time on the water. If you’re in Moab and need a break from the adrenaline stuff, book this trip. Mild to Wild and Tom made it effortless and memorable. 10/10. Would drift again (probably right after the next Moab swing… once my heart rate recovers). 🛶🏞️😂

Chance and KJ were...
Chance and KJ were fantastic! KJ was a great river guide and extremely accommodating. He was super knowledgeable about Moab’s ecosystems and rock formations, and they both had such great insights into the area. The river rafting was fun and easy, and the water felt great when we took a quick dip! Highly recommend booking this experience.

Absolutely great raft trip in every way…
Experienced and thoughtful guides really made this gorgeous raft trip special. We were driven to the launch site and our driver Warren and guide Michelle shared unique information about the area. This includes geography, hiking trail heads, Blue Heron nesting rookery grounds, scenic drives, so helpful. The group was offered the chose to go down the river on Ducky’s or in the raft. We were the only ones that chose the Ducky (a blow up tandem kayak). Michelle gave an informative safety talk which we appreciated. We are boaters our selves and while we are familiar with the Salish Sea in the Pacific NW waters, we are new to river rafting and it is different and important to know these safety items. Nate an other guide took the single Ducky and gave us great instructions before each rapid. (All around Class 1-2.5 ish). The first rapid , first waves was a little intimidating, but we did fine, followed instructions and had a great time. Nate was encouraging and bolstered our paddling with positive feedback. He was always aware of where we were so we felt, well cared for and safe. We did the full day trip, about 12 miles of paddling down river. We would definitely recommend this option if you want a little more adventure a little more splash. By the way we are 68 yrs old, so the Ducky’s are not only for the younger people. Michelle said we may see Blue Heron and it might be fun to count how many we saw, I took her up on the suggestion. My esta-count was 12 Blue heron, 2 Bald Eagles, one was in the nest, and 2 Osprey and we heard many other birds. So beautiful, the Colorado River in this area is surrounded by amazing red rock cliffs, every turn was a feast for the eyes!! Speaking of feasts, lunch was very nice with chips, pasta salad, chicken Caesar Salad wraps, veggies, and lots of snacks to take along. We highly recommend NavTech Expeditions.

Great Day...Great Guide
Really enjoyed the back country tour and all the insight we gained from Ron. The views were simply amazing and it was nice to get away from all the crowds. Ron is very knowledgeable with a low key personality and very accommodating. We deeply enjoyed the day.
