Segway was the perfect way to cover a lot of ground in Warsaw

I did the old city and new city tours and am so happy I did. With only a weekend in Warsaw, the Segway tour was the perfect way to cover a lot of ground and help get oriented to the city. Alex was the guide for both and was great. He ensured everyone was comfortable using the Segway and kept checking in on everyone during the tour. He shared a lot of good information about the city’s history and he encouraged us to ask any questions. He also gave some tips on where to try some traditional food. This tour is a must if you are spending time in Warsaw. Every aspect of the day was well-executed from the early morning pick-up to being met on the station platform on our return to Warsaw and transfered home. Our guide for Auschvitz and Birkenau was the best. She was extremely informative and did an excellent job in setting the context around these tragic sites. The tour operator kept us well-informed on all aspects of the tour including the opportunity to take later/earlier trains. Krakow is delightful and having some time to explore the old city before heading back to Warsaw was an added bonus.

Wolf's Lair is a must see!

The trip to visit Wolf’s Lair from Warsaw was certainly a long day but absolutely worthwhile. Martin, our guide, practically has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Nazi occupation of Poland during WW2 and of the Soviet Union’s communist subjugation after that. He certainly has broader historical expertise as well. Wolf’s Lair is fascinating – a lot happened there that is difficult to capture in a short tour. But, it offers representative examples of the Nazi regime’s strength, vernabilities, as well as its flaws. Be sure to indicate which optional activity you want when you book the trip. It wasn’t clear when or how to do this so we only saw Wolf’s Lair and had a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

Great experience with Konrad...learned a lot and saw everything

Konrad was a great tour guide for our time in Warsaw. He picked us up from our hotel and spent three + hours with him as shared his wealth of information as well as the current situation in Poland from his perspective There were several stops and he kept ensuring the content and flow was good for us. He was also kind enough to drop us off at another location that we wanted to go to and adjusted our itinerary to end up at our desired location at the end of the tour.

A very special evening

This was amazing, I saw a few people wipe away a tear or two. There were only about 20 people in the room. You could hear a pin drop in between tunes. It was a pretty stunning performance, actually. A nice little touch of a glass of honey wine in the interval. It's around an hour duration, leaving you time to enjoy the Old Town afterwards.

Do not miss this part of Poland and this special guide!

The castle was huge and in great condition for touring! It will feel like you step back into medieval times. Gdansk was more beautiful than Copenhagen. So much history to learn about and wonderful stores and restaurants. It is a must see city in Poland. So beautiful. Our guide Wojtek made the trip so special. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and he answered all our questions and made our tour so much fun. He also has a Volvo S80 (for home village tours), S90 and a Mercedes V-class for touring. We did not do a home tour, but if you want him to research your heritage he goes above and beyond to learn about your family members who used to live in Poland- he even walks around the small towns your family member lived in, knocking on doors and talking to local townspeople to get more information about your loved ones.

Excellent Wolf's Lair and Treblinka Day Tour

Two essential WWII historical sights were the basis for this excellent full day tour. Anna, my wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable driver-guide, communicated very well before the tour so I knew exactly what to expect. She picked me up promptly at my hotel in Old Town Warsaw and told me so much about Treblinka during our drive there. Once we arrived she took me on a super good, informative and detailed tour of Treblinka. I knew very little about the history of the camp, so Anna taught me a lot. Touring Treblinka which, at that time, was the first concentration camp I had ever been to, was a powerful, moving experience. Anna then drove me to Hitler's Wolf's Lair which was creepy, disturbing, dark, fascinating, and essential viewing for anybody who is genuinely interested in WWII history. Anna had another guide who was an absolute expert in the history and background of the Wolf's Lair, and she walked me around the entire site for almost two hours. I learned a LOT. While I was aware of the assassination attempt against Hitler which happened here (see the Tom Cruise movie Valkyrie) they both filled me in on so much more. Well worth seeing. Anna was a terrific guide and driver. Highly recommended tour.

Pierogi perfection

If you want to make a perfect pierogi, go to this class. Hands on experience making this delicious food. Ive made them before but I think I overcomplicated things. These were absolutely delicious, and the recipe was very simple. The tips and timing were very helpful. Great class.
