Not well organised. Not Good Value. Not Honest & Not Recommended

Niall_H, Apr 2026
I arrived 15 minutes early and waited in the rain. It was an open public space, so I was relying on their guide to make himself known to me. He did not and did not approach me because he had been incorrectly informed by the tour operator of the numbers in his group. After the departure time had passed, I called the tour operator one minute after the departure time had passed. They took 10 minutes to respond, admitting that they were trying to contact the guide. finally, after half an hour they messaged again offering sincere apologies and providing an address where I could catch up with the tour. By the time I arrived on the food tour I had missed 40 minutes of a 3-hour tour and missed a couple of the food stops, and I had had to wait for half an hour in the rain, all due to the Operator's error. I mentioned on the phone to them that I felt a partial refund would be appropriate for the part of the tour that I had missed and the inconvenience suffered. Their representative said that they would get back to me about this. When I caught up with the tour the guide was deeply apologetic and did say that he could provide additional dishes at the future stops on the tour, but despite this offer, these dishes never materialised. The tour is advertised as three to three and a half hours, and it should end at the departure point. In reality, it lasted only 2.5 hours (less than 2 hours for me) because the guide left us early, in a cafe about 1.5km from the tour start point. The guide, Louis was a nice enough person, but did not appear to know much about Warsaw, Poland, or the local culture. He was a university student from India who had lived in Poland for less than two years. However, the reason I feel compelled to write this review is that the tour operator did not contact me about a refund as they had promised so I contacted Viator, who investigated. They have now come back to me and said that the tour operator had told them the following: "They've advised that even though you are the only one who is late, they tried to compensate you for the tour for another 2 stops, however, you denied their goodwill offer. " THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE. I was not late - the message in the VIATOR app was sent at 15:01 stating that I had been there for 15 minutes - start time was 15:00. Although I was offered additional dishes, I was not offered additional stops, and nothing was forthcoming - another lie. These people are dishonest and the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I could not recommend this tour to anyone.

Ask for Arif and enjoy the pierogis :)

April_B, Jan 2026
Arif was an excellent tour guide! He’s not native to Poland, which I found to be so helpful because he explained why he chooses to call Warsaw home and what makes the city so great. Plus the food was really yummy!

Scam, shame on Viator and this tour company.

Sujoy_B, Dec 2025
Horrible, tour company. Kept posting on Viator, that they had the tour scheduled, but cancelled. Ruined my day. Avoid

Don't do it

Shelley_H, Sep 2025
We have been a big fan of Viator tour and have taken many food tours when I go to a new city. This was very disappointing this is the same guide that continues to get bad reviews. I’m not sure why I have somebody who is not Polish , has only lived in the country a short time doing something that would be so personal about their city. Additionally the value was absurd. We spent US$190 for two people and I think the total cost for food for the three restaurants was probably under $20. The service at the restaurant was also poor because they didn’t see us as actual customers were probably just idiots that wanted to go on this bogus food tour. The guide head no relationship with the restaurant owners. I appreciated that we experience the equivalent to a fast food restaurant with Polish food. I really would’ve preferred paying $20 for the list of restaurants and making my own decisions once I got there

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our goal with every tour is to provide authentic cultural insight, warm hospitality, and value that goes beyond the cost of the food itself through storytelling, guiding, and connecting our guests to the city’s history and traditions. We are currently reviewing your comments regarding both the guide assignment and the restaurant partnerships, as your experience is not in line with the standards we set for our tours. We work with a team of passionate guides, both local and international, who live in and love the city, but we take seriously your point about ensuring that the guide’s background enhances the authenticity of the experience. Regarding the food and service, we will address this with our partner venues to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and valued as customers. We also continuously monitor our pricing to balance inclusions, guide expertise, and small-group experiences. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to improve. If you would like to discuss this further, please reach out to us directly, and we will be glad to assist you personally.

A Polish food tour is a great way to experience another area of Polish culture

Charlene_N, Sep 2025
Dominic was a great host to take us on a Polish food tour. He is very knowledgeable of the Polish history.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the Polish food tour and learned more about the history. We’d be happy to welcome you back for another experience.

Great Polish food and drink

Jeffrey_F, Aug 2025
Our guide, Dorata, was great! Great personality with interesting stories about Polish history. We tasted many really good traditional Polish food and drink. I highly recommended this tour, and especially, Dorata!

Response from Host, Aug 2025

We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour and the traditional Polish food and drink! We’d love to welcome you back for another experience soon.

Basic Food Tour - Probably Not for Foodies

SusanProkop, Aug 2025
This was a basic introduction to Polish cuisine - mostly pork, cabbage, pierogies, a flavored vodka tasting, frosted donuts. It would have been nice to hear some background about the origins and history of Polish food and its relation to the country's culture and history. But our guide, while a lovely, gracious fellow, had only been in Poland about a year. So he couldn't really impart much detail about the food or background of the restaurants we visited. We also had to walk a very long way to get to 2 of the 5 establishments on the tour. Other food tours we've done were more compact in their route which gave more time to enjoy the food.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed meeting your guide and trying some classic Polish dishes, and we appreciate your suggestions to improve the route and add more background. Your comments help us make future tours even better.

There are far better food tours in Warsaw

Callam_P, Jul 2025
The guide was not helpful at all. He was constantly walking about 10m ahead of the group, didn’t offer any notable facts or history about the food, and replied with short answers. I would recommend they attend another food tour within the city to see what the vibe should be like on these things. It was honestly a quite bizarre experience.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t meet your expectations and will use your comments to improve our tours in the future.

Great Food

Gerry_A, Jun 2025
The food was delicious. I was very disappointed that we did not get cabbage rolls. A lot of walking, 4 hour tour, especially to the last two spots., a 2.2 km walk. I don’t think it was necessary for a donut and a shot of vodka. Only 2 of 10 people drank so that was a waste of time The guide was very knowledgeable.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the food and found the guide knowledgeable, and we appreciate your comments about the tour length and stops.

Walking Food tour

Edward_R, Jun 2025
This was a great way to sample Polish food traditions while also touring the old town. Caesar, our guide, was terrific. He filled us not only with food but also the history of the city itself. We had a great time.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you! We’re so glad you enjoyed sampling Polish food and learning about the history of Warsaw’s old town.

Food tasting tour

Matt_T, Jun 2025
The food was all delicious. Perhaps even more than the food were the discussions about the history and cultural traditions around the food and all the great information shared during the walking tour. Caesar did an excellent job answering questions and provided excellent color commentary throughout the evening. Bring your walking shoes (2-3km) and appetite. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you! We’re delighted you enjoyed the food, history, and cultural insights on the tour, and appreciate your recommendation.

A great way to explore Warsaw through Food!

Shirley_S, May 2025
The food was lovely - so great to be exposed to some authentic foods that one wouldn’t order without his counsel. It was fun and educational and our guide was warm and informative!

Caeser did an amazing job! We tried food from 5 different restaurants. It was all very good and not food that I would have found on my own.

Food Tour with Louis Warsaw

sharon_K, Apr 2025
The food was delicious but the guide was totally disinterested and did nothing to talk to is along the Tour. Had been in Warsaw for less than a year and said was doing it for the money

Might Be Better To Do This On Your Own

Brian_D, Apr 2025
We appeared to have gotten a substitute tour guide at the last minute which may have accounted for some of the disappointment with this tour. I do want to say that I had let them know ahead of time that my daughter was a vegetarian and they were able to accommodate her at each location. The tour was supposed to provide a history of the food that we were sampling, but our guide offered very little information and generally only when asked a question. The tour description says that we would be "learning it's history, culture and all the background for each individual dish that we will try." We learned essentially nothing about the food itself and very little about the establishments in which the food was served. The food itself (I won't give away spoilers on what we sampled) was excellent at the first stop which was a great start, however, the subsequent selections were mediocre. The pictures shown in the Viator booking were in no way representative of what we actually experienced. For the price we paid, we would have been better off finding establishments ourselves and Googling the history of both the establishment and the food. A different tour guide might have helped make it a little more enjoyable, but it wouldn't have changed the food offerings (one of which was just shots at a bar). This was a disappointing use of our time and money.

Really nice tour! I loved it! All the food was amazing, Cezary was really nice and kind ☺️ I really recommend this tour!

Louis was a wonderful...

ANN_C, Mar 2025
Louis was a wonderful guide. He said he just started doing this in the last few months but he was extremely knowledgeable. The food and drinks in the 5 places we went were all good. We let Louis know that we needed to walk slower than he was used to and he slowed down; we only had one other couple on the tour who were glad to walk slowly and talk. Rosa was on the tour as a trainee and she also gave us lots of information. Overall an excellent tour.

Not a great experience

Dan_D, Mar 2025
All the food we had was good. I was disappointed because I knew more about Polish food and culture than our guide. Our guide was so kind and sweet but she had only lived in Poland a very short time and didn’t know anything about Polish food or culture. It was a disappointment for how much the tour cost. I have done food tours around the world in many different countries and unfortunately this was one of the worst :(

Fantastic food tour in a beautiful city!

Murray_L, Feb 2025
Fantastic foods across a stunning range of restaurants in a city steeped with history. My wife and I highly recommend - the tourist made so much better by Cesar’s love of his city. He is incredibly knowledgable and offers many insights into Polish food

Shawn was great! Very knowledgeable about the history of old town. He took me to places I would never have discovered

Enjoyed the tour

Carol_C, Sep 2024
We got to sample many traditional polish dishes. Cesar was happy to answer all our questions and was knowledgeable on polish foods and history. We did have a long walk of 3 km to our fourth restaurant.

Great night to make new friends

Bonnie_W, Jul 2024
The conversations were amazing and instant friendships were made. The teacher was kind and patient with all the side conversations and very knowledgeable about the practice of making the perogis. The shots of various types of homemade liquor were great and a lovely addition to the night.

Excellent

Lois_R, May 2024
The food, the guide was fantastic-learned so much also about the history. Small venues we ate at. Would highly recommend.

Pretty good but might not be for everyone

denisosterreich, Apr 2024
I thought it was very an interesting and wonderful experience to have experienced the food/drinks at five different restaurants. However, the distance from the third to fourth place was somewhat far, and that walking distance may not be suitable for some older folks.

Eh - I wouldnt do it again!

Pamela_L, Sep 2023
The tour lasted less than 3 hours. I am not sure why the tour wasnt cancelled because I was the only participant. And the host did not seem too interested. I learned very little about food in general in Poland or about the 2 dishes we had, or the vodka at the end. Both dishes were good.

Don’t bother

Fiona_H, Jul 2023
Very disappointing. Only visited 3 food locations. Two with two food options (food quality was good) and the third was two shots of infused vodka, no food. The guide was not very forthcoming with information and the overall experience was rather dull and definitely not value for money

A great tour of Warsaw's old town and its food

Michael_V, Jul 2023
Cezar contacted me when I was unable to find him in the plaza, which was very welcome. The most memorable part was the food and his easygoing attitude. His insight into the area's history was very welcome. I also lucked out that the other member of the tour group was great to hang out with. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to explore the area, Polish cuisine, and its history, and doesn't want to spend a full six hour day doing so. Great experience.

Excellent food walking tour
