Vienna is the only major city in the world to grow wine within its city limits. Around 80% of the grape varieties grown are white wines, with Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc being the most common. The Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC is the oldest 'wine variety' in Vienna. It is a wine in which the grapes of different grape varieties that grow in the same vineyard are harvested and processed at the same time. The speciality of a Gemischter Satz is therefore the subtle interplay of different grape varieties. The special thing about this tour is that you visit the best wineries in Vienna that serve their own wine. It gives you the opportunity to taste the Viennese Gemischter Satz from different winegrowers and vineyards in all its variations and quality grades, as regional wine, local wine and Riedenwein, on the spot. On this tour, you will taste these excellent Viennese wines with typical winery dishes such as bread spreads, roast pork and apple strudel for dessert.
