This class is designed to teach how to cook Korean dishes with ingredients and seasonings that are easy to find overseas. You will experience the whole process of making dishes with your own pan and knife. Have any food restrictions? Whether you’re vegan, don’t eat pork, or don’t drink alcohol, we’ve got you covered. Traveling alone or with your family? Everyone is welcome.

In our class, you will enjoy six real Korean dishes and some traditional desserts, giving you a true taste of Korea. The class takes place in a studio that mixes old Korean style with modern looks. You will hear interesting stories about Korean food and culture. Also, we will walk through hidden alleys—secret places even many locals don’t know—where you can learn special stories and get small gifts to take home.

This hands-on experience invites you into a quiet traditional workshop, where you will learn the meaning and history of Korean seals and carve one that is uniquely yours. This workshop offered in a small group, allowing for personal attention at every step. I will guide you carefully through the carving process, even if you have no prior experience. Your finished seal can be used as a personal signature or kept as a meaningful souvenir from Korea. Welcome to the traditional Korean bookbinding class, the only chance in Seoul you can experience the real traditional Korean bookbinding. We will use Hanji. Hanji is the traditional Korean paper used to make Annals of the Joseon Dynasty that is listed on UNESCO Memory of the World. Joseon royal family and Korean Confucian scholars and intellectuals would use it when writing diaries or taking notes. The cover will be made by beautiful and classy silk weaved Korean traditional pattern. Dozens of colorful threads and silk are available. As the final touch, a No-ri-gae, traditional Korean knot is tied on the book. You can make it and take it home right away!

Hwiho Craft is a traditional craft experience workshop in Korea, where you can immerse yourself in the art of mother-of-pearl craftsmanship. Through this experience, you will learn the techniques behind working with mother-of-pearl, a unique material made from thinly processed seashells that display vibrant colors. These natural hues possess a sophisticated beauty that can’t be replicated artificially. At our workshop, you will have the opportunity to create a variety of items, such as keychains, hair accessories, compact mirrors, and accessory boxes, all using mother-of-pearl. You can express a wide range of designs, from traditional Korean patterns to personal initials. Korean alcohol is a lot more than just a green bottle of soju, which is diluted ethanol with artificial sweetener. Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (filtered clear rice wine) and So-ju (distilled spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we can also taste other types too. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894). This luxurious alcohol had caused cult following, but the making was so resource(rice)-heavy that production had to stop during famines. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family. In the heart of Seoul, gain a quick and clear understanding of Korea’s traditional rice wine, makgeolli, through a brief yet insightful introduction. Guided by the owner—a professional brewer and certified sommelier—you’ll taste freshly brewed makgeolli while learning about its flavor, history, and cultural significance.

The instructor is a professional chef with an educational background and 7 years of experience in Korean cuisine. (Working michelin guide one star restaurant and Korean consulat in the USA as a Chef) Class will begin with a demonstration followed by the hands on portion. During the demonstration, you will have some tea or soda, prepared by Chef with high quality ingredients from multiple Korean farms. By the end of the class, you will learn how to cook traditional Korean food from scratch. The space is also perfect for taking photos during and after class, and you will be able to have your food in studio or take it to go. The studio is easily accessible to Gyeongbokgung Palace and the traditional market. I look forward to meeting everyone!
