An absolute must-do while in Seoul. The class is taught in a 100 year old Geisha residence that has been lovingly restored - the space is so beautiful. Ricky is a phenomenal teacher and chef. My sister in law and I were very excited to learn about Korean cuisine and how to prepare it. I have been to many host-led experiences and without a doubt this was the best class I have taken. It is a small, intimate class with plenty of attention. Ricky is a wonderful host and guides you every step of the way while giving historical significance of each dish. I hope you love the class as much as we did! ❤️

We took Chef Park's cooking class in a beautiful 100-year-old hanok and left with full stomachs and a genuinely great evening behind us. Chef Park is an excellent instructor — funny, knowledgeable, and great at explaining not just the how but the why behind each dish. We made five things: tangpyeongchae (mung bean jelly with pork and vegetables), haemul pajeon, galbi short ribs, fresh kimchi, and Korean potato salad. It's an ambitious menu for one class, but the pacing worked well and everything came out delicious. The setting alone is worth mentioning — eating the meal you just made in a century-old hanok is a nice touch that elevates it beyond a typical cooking class. He also pointed us toward a great fried chicken spot afterward, which turned out to some of the best fried chicken we have ever had! I would recommend this class to any one who is interested in food and cooking.

      Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for a wonderful review! I am glad that you loved the fried chicken place! Hope to see you in the future!

Chef Park was warm, welcoming, and made the experience both fun and educational as she guided us through preparing Royal Seoul cuisine. We especially loved the cultural and historical stories shared throughout the class, which made it even more meaningful. Everything was easy, well organized, and absolutely delicious. Great learning experience

      Jannie_M, Jun 2026
I had booked Royal cooking class to learn something different about the Korean cuisine. Ricky was really good at explaning the history behind the dishes. We made a royal dish with mungbean and vegetables. We then made 4 other dishes. We learned the base sauce for many recepies. I would definitely recommend this cooking class, which also took place in an old Hanok Building.

      Response from Host, Jun 2026

I really appreciate your great review! I also enjoyed the time! Thank you!

Fun time learning some of my favourite Korean dishes

      Moradeyo_A, May 2026
This takes place in a small Hanok near Iksandeong. You arrive and take off your shoes. Ricky who hosted the class is super friendly and knowledgeable. We make a few dishes but we sit down to eat after the first set and then again at the end. Class flies by and you dont realise when the time is done. You are also offered som Korean rice wine (makgeolli) to taste. The hanok is small, but oerfect size for the class of 6.

      Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you so much for a great review and your visit ! I hope you only bring good memories from Korea!

Fun and delicious Korean food experience

      Charles_R, May 2026
This is a wonderful way to experience Korean food and culture. Park was a congenial host and expert chef (and spoke excellent English). He carefully demonstrated the cooking techniques to our small group, explaining why each step was done, and then helped each of us to do the same. This fun learning experience resulted in a delicious meal. Our easy conversation with Park gave us a personal view of Korean culture as he told us about himself and his family.

      Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you so much Charlie! I enjoyed it alot as well!~

      Great Experience!

We had a great time. The small size of the group meant the chef could give individual attention as needed. We especially appreciated the chef explaining the significance of the dishes he taught us to prepare. I had some diet restrictions which he accommodated.

      Response from Host, May 2026

We really appreciate your kind review! Hope you had a great time in Seoul!
