Itinerary
You're picked up at your hotel in Queenstown at your selected departure time (select hotels only), or you can opt to self-drive to the hangar. On arrival, you are checked in and provided with a window seat aboard the aircraft. Then settle in for a scenic flight to Milford Sound.
The route takes you over the magnificent landscapes of Fiordland National Park, with majestic views of mountain lakes and waterfalls. Listen to your pilot's narration before landing and swapping your plane for a cruise boat to explore Milford Sound. Spend ample time covering the length of the fjord, from Mitre Peak to the Tasman Sea. A picnic lunch is available for purchase before you board the boat.
Upon completion of the cruise, you are flown back to Queenstown on a different flight path along the Southern Alps. When you reach Queenstown you are transferred back to your original departure point.

- You will need to call 1hr 30mins before the departure time you have booked for. If the weather is suitable you will be picked up from your hotel approximately 5 minutes after the call.
- Infants are classed as 11kgs or under. If they are over this weight, they will be classed as a child due to infant seatbelt weight limit restrictions. They will have to be charged a child price on the day if weights and are over the 11kg limit.
- Mitre Peak Cruises are booked subject to availability. On occasion you may be booked onto an alternative cruise company, we will notify you of this when you check in for your experience with us

We originally booked the "take a bus to Milford" trip, but were convinced by fellow travelers to switch to the plane ride, and oh my, was that good advice. Not only is it faster, but flying through the mountains is an amazing experience. My wife and I are both private pilots, so it was even more enjoyable for us. I was convinced that would be the highlight of the trip, until we reached the Sound. Taking a boat through the Sound, seeing the sheer volcanic cliffs dropping into the water, glimpsing the vast Pacific to the west, and then getting to fly home again was a day we won't soon forget.
Top 10 lifetime experience for sure. From the hotel pickup to the very smooth flight with out of this world views to the cruise thru the fjord. This is a must do experience. It is very expensive - but sooo worth it if you can afford it!

Absolutely stunning! Plan to bring a battery pack for your cell phone photos as you will run out of juice after the first fly over! There are no charging ports around on boat or elsewhere. We were blessed with perfect weather and took so many breathtaking videos! Staff was excellent both on boat and plane. Can't say enough about how great this was all around.
Great experience even for a very soon to be 70 yr old. Got really rugged up and enjoyed every minute!

Amazing experience! We had booked the trip on 1st Jan and what an amazing start to the year we had. The flight through the mountains was awesome and the Milford sound cruise was great. We had driven to Milford sound when we visited 14 years ago and in comparison this was so much more convenient - we were back in Queenstown by 3 pm.

Staff were amazing, flight gave us amazing views, professional and very neat aircraft
Boat was great a lot of room to move around
Fabulous day out, seamless from start to finish. Andy our pilot made us feel safe and gave lots of information on the sights on the way there and back. We had beautiful weather which made Milford look completely different from the last time we were here when we took a coach trip in.
Beautiful scenery, educational, and relaxing excursion. Views were stunning. Peaceful. Andy was an excellent pilot.

Definitely go on this experience. My wife and I had an incredible experience. It was well worth it. The flight was very enjoyable with beautiful views of the entire area from Queenstown to Milford Sound. It is impossible to see the views of the area include Glenorchy, the Southern Alps, and the Sound without the flight into Milford Sound. The cruise was also very enjoyable with unbelievable views. Both the flight and the cruise were very comfortable and safe. The tour guides were very informative in both the air and the Sound. We learned much and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Definitely a must do tour from Queenstown!!

The flight both to and from Milford Sound was the most fantastic and memorable part of the experience. The views were stunning from the air.
The Milford Sound cruise itself felt underwhelming. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe it’s because I’m from Michigan in the United States where we have the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. Cruising Lake Superior
will take your breath away.

Best decision I made was to cancel the road trip and switch to fly cruise fly instead of the long drive. The weather changes at a short notice in Milford sound /this trip informs you just before you take off - keep an extra day just in case you have to reschedule due to weather. They will accommodate you. That said, the views are breathtaking and hard to capture the beauty perfectly except in your brain! The cruise was as great as the flight!
Our pilot Andy was a true professional and a very helping individual with a great smile! Loved the experience.
