Our guide was also the owner of Segway on Q. He was friendly and told us the background stories of our stops. He always looked out for the group and made sure everyone was safe. Felt confident after our training pre-ride. Segway was so fun and the tour was a great time. Would reco for anyone in Queenstown!

The One Mile Powerhouse Car Park, near 130 Lake Esplanade. At the end of the Lake Esplanade take the 3rd exit off the roundabout. Go up the dirt road into the car park area to meet your guide who will be there 5 minutes before your booking time. In google maps enter 'One Mile Powerhouse'.

Itinerary

Get an introduction to New Zealand’s "adventure capital" on a 1- or 2-hour Segway tour of Queenstown.

After your guide demonstrates how to operate the Segway and outfits you with a helmet, take some time to practice steering and powering the easy controls. Once you’re comfortable, you’ll set off to explore Queenstown, following your guide in a small group toward Lake Wakatipu.

Stop at one or two scenic spots for photo ops and continue your 1-hour tour along the bay, or if you've selected a 2-hour tour, continue to cover more sights.

1-hour tour: Enjoy a basic overview of Queenstown and its stunning surroundings with a spin around Queenstown Bay, an inlet on Lake Wakatipu. Take in outstanding views of the Remarkables, Cecil Peak, and Walter Peak looming just above the resort town as you ride from Earnslaw Park past St. Omer Park, Marine Parade, and the Queenstown Gardens.

2-hour tour: Put your skills to the test with another hour of fun on your eco-friendly Segway. Enjoy commentary from your guide as you cruise along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu before you venture out of Queenstown. You’ll glide up a hill or two—certainly more fun on a Segway than on foot—and ride through Queenstown Gardens to see botanical exhibits on display.

Such a fun way to see Queenstown. We are 60 and have no problem using the segways. It’s was a fun morning. It was just a shame we didn’t have more time to do a longer Segway tour. The one hour tour was great. Kevin speaks Chinese and English. We were very impressed and everyone in the group had a really fun morning.

Kevin, our guide made our Segway Queenstown tour feel so effortless and genuinely enjoyable. From the very beginning, he was kind, patient, and explained everything so clearly that we felt completely at ease. We also had some time to practice first, which really helped build confidence. The Segway itself was surprisingly very stable, so even as beginners we felt safe and comfortable. It was such a beautiful way to explore Queenstown and cover so much without feeling rushed, including the stunning Queenstown Gardens. Kevin made sure we felt comfortable throughout and took us through some really lovely spots. Truly a memorable experience, and we’re so grateful to Kevin for making it so special by taking photos along the way :)

Great way to explore Queenstown

A Segway tour, especially when you first get to a new location, is a great way to get the lay of the land, see a large part of the city, learn interesting facts and have a fun time doing it. Kevin checked all these boxes! He spent the right amount of time getting everyone comfortable on the Segway in a quiet location before taking us off on our ride. He stressed safety throughout and even those who have never been on a Segway before truly enjoyed the ride. I highly recommend!

Fun experience for the family!

After a quick introduction and practice, we were on our way to explore Queenstown and trails. Kevin was a patient teacher and great guide. It was fun learning something new and then zipping along the walkways and trails. Every so often, Kevin shared an interesting or entertaining historical information. I enjoyed the varied terrain (sidewalk, dirt trails and grass). Trust the segway and lean forward!

Kevin was a fabulous guide and really took the time to train us on how to use the segway to be sure we were safe to operate it. It was so beautiful to ride along the Whakatipu Lake and see the beauty . Kevin gave us some history of Queenstown along the way and we even played a hole of disc golf at the Queenstown gardens!! I would highly recommend this tour even if you never rode a Segway. It’s so much fun!!!

My guess would be with the word "glimpse" and the fact that you only booked the 1hr Bay Ride option. Our 2hr Queenstown Tour is what I recommend customers select for the full experience.
