Leisly's Review: A Journey Into the Heart of the Jungle: The Emberá Experience
If you are looking for an escape that feels less like a "tour" and more like a profound cultural connection, a visit to the Emberá community is an absolute must. My recent trip was, quite frankly, the highlight of my visit to Panamá—a perfect blend of raw nature and soulful tradition. Our Guide: Kareem First off, we have to talk about our guide, Kareem. A trip like this lives or dies by the person leading the way, and Kareem was phenomenal. He wasn't just a font of knowledge; he was a bridge between two worlds and he was very sweet, helpful, funny and real. • Insightful: He shared deep historical context that you just won't find in a guidebook. • Attentive: He made sure every person in the group felt comfortable and engaged. • Genuine: His passion for the land and respect for the Emberá people were evident in every story he told. If you can request him, do it! The Waterfall Trek The journey began with a stunning canoe ride, followed by a 5 minute hike to a hidden waterfall. • The Scenery: The lush canopy and the sounds of the tropical birds make you feel like you've stepped back in time. • The Dip: Reaching the falls and diving into the cool, crystal-clear water was the ultimate refreshment. It’s the kind of "natural spa" experience that recharges your battery instantly. Visiting the Emberá Community The true heart of the day was meeting the Emberá people. It is incredibly rare to find a cultural exchange that feels this authentic and welcoming. • The Welcome: From the moment we stepped off the boat, we were greeted with traditional music and genuine smiles. • The Culture: We learned about their intricate basket weaving, stunning beadwork, and the meaning behind their traditional body painting and their amazing dances. • The Meal: We were served a delicious, fresh lunch (the fried tilapia and plantains were perfection!) served in a traditional banana leaf. Why You Should Go Visiting this indigenous community isn’t just about seeing something new; it’s about perspective. The Emberá live with a beautiful simplicity and a deep reverence for the earth that is truly inspiring. Pro Tip: Bring some small bills if you want to purchase their handcrafted art. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and directly supports the village families. This was an unforgettable, eye-opening day. Huge thanks to Kareem for making it so special!

Florence at a quick glance--worth taking on your first day of arrival.
This was our last day in Florence (after having roamed around for 2 nights) and it was still something we needed as there were hidden gems we didn't know about that we discovered on this walking tour, thank to Manual (our tour guide). I highly recommend do it upon arrival to Florence, so you can maximize the places you would discover worth double-clicking on aftee the tour. Enjoy Florence, it is one of the most amazing places in the world.

Amazing Tour!
What an amazing tour! We were so happy we chose this tour. Pick up time was clearly communicated and right on time. There was so much packed into the day-great boat ride with lots of animal sightings, an amazing visit to the locks and we were able to see 2 different ships go through. Fort San Lorenzo was also very neat to see. Lunch was delicious, and we were constantly being offered cold water. We had lots of time at all of the stops and never felt rushed. Our tour guide John was amazing!!I really can’t say enough about how helpful and informative he was, as well as entertaining! He took such good care of us. Loved this tour and 1000% recommend!

Best hands down in Panama
The tour was very informative and also interactive. The tour guide Yassir took the time out to learn our names and also included his heritage and the love that he has for other cultures. #love and truth, I’d definitely take this tour again the next time I’m in Panama with hopes of it being for 6 hours because that’s how good it was.

Panama tours tend to focus on the engineering feat that is the Panama Canal—and for good reason. Learn how the canal changed the landscape of Panama City while touring its key attractions, from the lively Amador Causeway to the historic architecture of Casco Antiguo. Then join the ships on the canal itself, boating to jungle islands that are home to sociable monkeys as well as crocodiles, sloths, iguanas, and other wildlife. Many excursions include rainforest hikes, local food tastings, and visits to indigenous communities, as well.
