What are people saying about Northern Ireland

Walking where giants have been...and exploring the countryside on the way.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip out, was wonderful seeing all the different view points on the way up to the giants causeway, Be aware that bad weather, and mist will limit your coastal views, even though we had this, we still enjoyed our day visiting the various locations, which included a couple of Game of Thrones locations which we loved.
One of the things which would make the trip better is wearing the correct footwear.
Hiking boots with non slip grips are the safest bet when walking the causeway, rainy conditions make the stones very hazardous and we saw 2 really bad falls where people have slipped on the terrine, which caused major damage, just be careful if you decide to walk the causeway.
Also it is worth taking the bus up and down to the causeway, which is a £1 each way. Take your national trust membership card with you if you have one as it costs £19 to get into the visitors centre where you can pick up an audio guide, or go on a guided tour which is included on entrance, we did the guided tour and it was worth it. You will gain entrance to the souvenir shop and also the cafe. This tour does not give you access to the visitor centre.
The dark hedges were wonderful, but unfortunately some of the trees have come down in storms over the last couple of years. It is also about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the dark hedges from the car park.
Our driver was great, very knowledgeable and also brilliant at maneuvering the sometimes narrow roads on the way up.
Well worth a trip and we will be returning and hopefully the weather will give us a better view of the surroundings. Definately take a portable charger, as you will need to recharge your phone on the go if using for pictures and videos.
The trip is a long day, but full of wonderful things.

Barry was great! We came into the tour without a ton of background knowledge about the city and the history, and he was an absolute wealth of knowledge and storytelling! We were so grateful to get to go through the city with him, and truly learned so much background and got so much context!

Exception Tour
Our tour was through Odyssey Tours. Amanda (Guide) and John (Driver) were outstanding. I would recommend Odyssey Tours for seeing the Giants Causeway. We had visited the Giants Causeway two years ago as an excursion through the cruise ship we were on. With Odyssey we saw so much more including a trip through the the part of Belfast with the wall. It was very moving. We appreciated seing this side of Belfast. Thank you.

Highly recommend!
Tour left right from the cruise port, very mindful of our timetable for the cruise. Troy was the best guide we’ve had this trip! He’s very professional, informative, and gave us a great tour of Giants Causeway and the coast! A tour from our cruise ship was ridiculously priced and we ran into the other passengers at every stop, so it’s almost identical for a portion of the price. Back in plenty of time for our cruise departure, could have even gone into Belfast for an hour or two before departure had we wanted. Highly recommend!

Giants Causeway
Great trip with very knowledgable and humorous guide.
Nothing was too much trouble and his commentary out of this world.
Trip was very good and Giants Causeway impressive.

NI staycation Days Out
Great experience with one amazing and funny tour guide (Stuart), the dad jokes had us in stitches and thsnk you for the GOT references. We visired Carrickfergus Castle, The Dark Hedges (lunch stop with a discount voucher provided) although a picnic was a very good idea, there is also a fabulous coffee shop. Then on to Dunluce Castle, always worth a visit but nothing like it on a sunny day, picturesque with amazing views. We then finished at Giants Causeway and plenty of timd for a walk, refreshments, dinner etc before home to Belfast (arriving back for around 6pm)

Incredible history walking tour- must do!!
Eugene was a fantastic tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour! It was so informative and peppered with just the right amount of humor to offset the serious subject matter. We loved that Eugene paid respects to so many by naming them specifically and how detailed and thorough the historical content was. Highly recommend this tour if you’re coming to Belfast and want to learn more about Northern Ireland’s history!!

A Ride Worth Taking
The bus tour provides both visual and auditory learning. The drivers are well-informed, drive a scenic route at a leisurely pace, and continually offer pertinent and insightful information.
The two-day availability gives numerous opportunities to visit interesting sites around Belfast without having to use taxis.

Best tour of Giants!!
Phenomenal tour! Great bus with great leg room as described! Driver was very enjoyable and informative. They were right outside our cruise boat for easy pickup and dropoff. Beautiful day and even place to eat was delicious! Giants causeway was stunning! Definitely recommend this tour.

Be prepared to learn a...
Be prepared to learn a great deal of information and to be presented with a very balanced, objective view of all sides of the violent conflict. Our tour guide, Jim, shared the history of The Troubles with compassion and empathy, with a focus on the many ways the conflict impacted victims and survivors to this day. He emphasized the learning and hope we can take from how the society has survived this tragic period.

Kevin - Black Taxi Extraordinaire
Our driver Kevin was very knowledgeable and was very passionate about the city he calls home. He used relatable analogies to help us understand the oppression of people in the North of Ireland and created an atmosphere where we felt comfortable asking questions. His tour was by far the best tour I have ever been apart of, not just in the North of Ireland, but in all of my travels. If I ever return to Belfast, I would love to take this tour again and buy Kevin a pint!

This tour was the highlight of our trip! I cannot recommend it enough. The bus was clean, comfortable, safe and easy to find. Our tour guide Dave was attentive to attendees, incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable, and ensured that we had ample time at each location to explore. The castles included were definitely worth visiting and the highlight was of course the Giants Causeway which included various points of access for differing needs/preferences. I would advise packing your own lunch or being prepared for a pricey meal as our only option seemed to be the Dark Hedges hotel. Overall an amazing experience!
