Eugenes Guided Walking Tour Was Great. Interesting & Informative. Being A Local & Growing Up During The Troubles He Was Able To Give Real Insight On This Subject. & Cheers ! Eugene I Had A Very Tasty Sunday Lunch At The Whites Bar In Belfast City Centre. One Of His Places To Visit Mentions.
Andrew_K, Jul 2026
Eugene was very informative. He answered questions easily. Spoke clearly. At times humorous. Would do this again.

Mylie was absolutely fantastic. We had an amazing tour and learned all about the troubles. In addition to visiting specific sites where significant events happened, our guide was able to interject personal stories of people she knew who had a direct or indirect experience related to this significant time in history. Because the tour was so good I think I need to come back to Belfast again and spend more time.

It’s very interesting and informative — a great way to get an overview of The Troubles. Jim was our guide and he was superb. .

Fantastic introduction to the history of Belfast. Our guide Anne was very knowledgeable and gave a great insight into the history Ireland

Ann was a wonderful guide. We were given a neutral view of the troubles as well as her own personal stories about what she remembers from growing up during them. She told stories of people that lost their lives and the ones who survived. She really helped you understand how it felt to live through the violence and uncertainty while carrying on with as normal a life as possible. If you enjoy history and hearing it from people who lived it call DC tours and ask to take a walk with Anne! (You'll also get some of her mum's recipes!!)

Awesome introduction to the Northern Ireland turmoil of the 70s. Raising was amazing as she clearly explained some of the most significant happenings during that time. Sometimes relaying it from the stand point of someone who was there even as a small child. Don't hesitate to book this great walk.

Our guide, Mylie, did an excellent job! So interesting and informative. Her passion really added a personal perspective to the tour. Would highly recommend!

Roisin gives a well balanced experience regarding The Troubles in Belfast. She is very articulate and is a great advocate to understand the past while looking forward to the future!!

Really informative great pace. Easy to listen to and our tour guide Jim was very knowledgeable. Fantastic despite the rain
Renee_K, Jun 2026
Is rained almost the whole tour which was unfortunate for us because the tour guide - in her kindness - tried to keep us in sheltered areas as much as possible.
The tour information was very good containing both facts as well as personal stories.
Easy walk.

This walking tour was excellent. Very informative, engaging, and well organized. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared many interesting facts and local insights that made the experience enjoyable. I learned a lot and appreciated the chance to see the area from different perspectives. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.

This was a fascinating tour with in depth details of the history of violence in Belfast specifically addressing the Troubles between 1969 - 1998. Eugene was very interesting and knowledgeable about this subject. The walking distance for the 2.5 hour tour was not too long over flat surfaces and Eugene was always aware of the group’s safety on the streets. Highly recommended tour.

This was honestly one of the best walking tours I’ve ever done. The tour covers the Troubles with a clear, balanced approach, and Roy was an exceptional guide — incredibly knowledgeable and able to explain everything in a way that felt engaging and easy to follow. You also get to see a lot of the city as you go, which makes the experience even richer.
I left with a much deeper understanding of Belfast and a real respect for the city and its people. It genuinely added to how much I loved my time there. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast.

We had our tour of the Troubles with Mylie, and it was absolutely fantastic. She has her PhD in Irish history, and brought clarity, passion and compassion to really complex subject matter. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about Belfast's recent history.
Elizabeth_C, May 2026
Chris was a wonderful guide. Very well thought out tour with an open mind to such a sad subject. Definitely recommend if you would like to hear some somber stories of the troubles. Time well spent.
Alan_L, May 2026
Full of first hand account knowledge which brought the tour to life. Amusing anecdotes interspersed with grim facts and figures associated with the “Troubles”. It was delivered sensitively and impartially.
Jennifer_B, May 2026
Chris is so lovely and knowledgeable! He gave great perspective on both sides and told the story of this dark time in Belfast’s history with such empathy, as well as hope. Highly recommend!
Caroline_B, May 2026
Very well done by a very knowledgable and passionate guide. He knows his material and presents with feeling and flair.Thankypj

Excellent history and overview of the Troubles. Tommy was a fabulous guide who went into a lot of depth. What was especially appreciated is how he talked about those who died by name. It was moving and troubling but ended on hope for peace.
Jon_C, May 2026
It's a great tour, talking about the history of the troubles and some of the key moments. It's not a boring history lesson though - it's done in a way that makes it both engaging and interesting. It's 2.5hrs so wear comfy shoes and take a jacket - the weather changes often in Belfast.
Maxine_K, May 2026
I came to Belfast specifically to learn about The Troubles, largely because I realised how little I truly understood and wanted to challenge my own ignorance. I also have a friend with Irish heritage, which made it feel even more important to take the time to learn.
This tour was genuinely one of the most powerful and memorable experiences I’ve ever had and I haven't stopped gabbering on about it to anyone that will listen since I came back home.
Our guide, Mylie, was absolutely exceptional. This was not just a history lesson, it was storytelling at its very best. She brought the people, places and events to life in a way that was deeply moving, respectful and unforgettable.
What stood out most was how personal the tour felt. Mylie did not reduce the history to statistics or simply say “three people died here” or “100 people died there”. She gave names, backgrounds and human stories to the people who lost their lives. That made the history feel real in a way I had not expected.
The headset system also made the whole experience feel very intimate, almost like having a personal storyteller sat on your shoulder as you walk the streets. Because of Belfast’s healing process, there are fewer visible memorials in the city centre, but our guide made sure those stories, those names were still heard and remembered.
I came away realising how much I had not known, and how important it is to listen properly to the stories behind the history. I grew up in London and was once very close to a related incident as a child, so I thought I had some awareness of this period, but this tour gave me a much deeper and more human understanding.
It was thoughtful, emotional, educational and beautifully delivered. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who wants to understand Belfast, it's future, The Troubles and the people whose lives were changed forever.

Our tour guide Ann was very knowledgeable about The Troubles. We learned quite a bit about those times of conflict. Our tour was great and would recommend it.
Margaret_J, Apr 2026
Roisin, our guide, was super informative. We learned so much about Northern Ireland's history as we walked. We saw a large part of the central city.
Wendy_D, Apr 2026
A guided walking tour through areas where actual events of The Troubles occurred created an experiential way to understand the conflicts and devastation. Not only were issues of The Troubles explained, but also the events that preceded the 1960's helped participants better understand why The Troubles began. Miley's vast knowledge of Ireland's history was incredible!
Anthony_M, Apr 2026
What a fantastic walking tour that covers The Troubles and political history of Northern Ireland - detailed, yet accessible with a lot of packed in. I consider myself a history buff but still learned a tonne. What makes it unmissable however are the real human stories and wonderful guide Mylie.
Yusuf_E, Apr 2026
It is a great walking tour to learn about the city and its history regarding conflicts of the past and general history of Northern Ireland.
SIAN_B, Apr 2026
Really informative talk . As a first time visitor to Belfast I realised how little I knew about the troubles and history of the city .
Chris imparted ,sometimes difficult information, with impartiality and compassion.
