It is informative well delivered and generally very very good. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting.
I particularly liked the ear pieces so you could hear her at all times and it allowed the guide to talk as you walked.
This tour was like taking a class on The Troubles. So much incredible information packed into 2 and a half hours! Mylie did an amazing job blending history and real life stories that we were brought to tears more than once.
Mylie was simply superb! Mylie's knowledge of the subject matter and her clearly evident love of Belfast, its past and its future, warmed the heart on such a thought provoking and at times upsetting tour. I like to think I'm a bit of an amateur historian of Ireland but Mylie's initial introductory talk that covered 850 years of Irish history was the best I've ever heard. Mylie dealt with the more tragic episodes of the walk with both sensitivity and real emotion that really struck home in its effectiveness.
Be prepared for a really in depth history of ‘the troubles’, fascinating and informative… oh, and take an umbrella / wet weather gear… weather can change quickly
Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Belfast! Mylie was an incredible tour guide, going through so much history in such a short space of time and making sure the tour was accessible for all. We were really lucky to have her as our guide! The tour covered some deep topics and managed to convey Belfast’s history from a neutral viewpoint, and the passion for telling the stories of Belfast and its people was evident in all aspects of the tour.
The walking tour by Mylie (Im sorry if i have misspelled the name) was an emotionally stirring experience. She is a phenomenal storyteller with a heartfelt, authentic approach to sharing a difficult conversation about the troubles. I have already recommended the tour and her specifically to other tourists. Amazingly valuable experience.
James told the story of The Troubles with so much knowledge and enthusiasm. He managed to intermingle with a few humorous antidotes to lighten it up.
Excellent walking tour of Belfast. Great way to understand the “troubles” but also see a revitalized city with an exciting future. Guide was unbiased and very knowledgeable. She personalized many of the events over past 60 years. Highly recommended!
The tour was wonderful. I thought it would be a ghost tour but it was a political tour. Still really terrific tour and information. Mylie did a great job.
Miley was an amazing guide. So full of knowledge and compassion for all the people involved in this tragic time.
This is an extremely good overview of the history of Ireland and Belfast. Well organised and easy to understand. Our guide Rory was exceptional.
Very informative tour. Several stop while the guide talks about the history of The Troubles. James was a great guide!
It goes at an easy pace and our guide Mylie was a fountain of information and did not favor either side of the conflict but came away with a much better understanding of it
Anne was an excellent guide and we learned so much about the history of Belfast and the troubles. Would recommed.
Eugene was a fantastic tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour! It was so informative and peppered with just the right amount of humor to offset the serious subject matter. We loved that Eugene paid respects to so many by naming them specifically and how detailed and thorough the historical content was. Highly recommend this tour if you’re coming to Belfast and want to learn more about Northern Ireland’s history!!
If you enjoy history, this is a phenomenal tour! Jim was amazing!! He was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and considerate of the entire group! This was a fantastic tour
Eugene was a great guide at leading us through the city, answering questions, and telling stories with emotion and clarity. It was a great tour to see quite a few different spots, hear tales from throughout the troubles and be finished before lunch! I'm not much of a walker and found it manageable.
Very informative tour. Anne was an excellent guide. Mixed historical facts with personal insights growing up through the troubles. Unbiased reflections that gave a deep insight to the past, present and future hopes.
cannot recommend this walking tour enough! If you want to get a true feel for Belfast, this is the absolute best way to do it.Our guide Ann was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about their hometown. Instead of a scripted, robotic lecture, the storytelling felt deeply personal and authentic. They seamlessly wove together fascinating historical facts about the troubles. The walking pace was very comfortable, and we were taken through hidden corners, historic alleyways and past beautiful architecture that we would have completely missed on our own.
This walking tour was fantastic. Very engaging and we learned a ton about this period of history. Coordination was simple and the tour was in the heart of the city.
Eugenes Guided Walking Tour Was Great. Interesting & Informative. Being A Local & Growing Up During The Troubles He Was Able To Give Real Insight On This Subject. & Cheers ! Eugene I Had A Very Tasty Sunday Lunch At The Whites Bar In Belfast City Centre. One Of His Places To Visit Mentions.
Eugene was very informative. He answered questions easily. Spoke clearly. At times humorous. Would do this again.
It s very interesting! It s fun! Roryknows an awfyl lot about the history of Ireland and Belfast and tells it with great enthusiasm.
Mylie was absolutely fantastic. We had an amazing tour and learned all about the troubles. In addition to visiting specific sites where significant events happened, our guide was able to interject personal stories of people she knew who had a direct or indirect experience related to this significant time in history. Because the tour was so good I think I need to come back to Belfast again and spend more time.
It’s very interesting and informative — a great way to get an overview of The Troubles. Jim was our guide and he was superb. .
Fantastic introduction to the history of Belfast. Our guide Anne was very knowledgeable and gave a great insight into the history Ireland
Ann was a wonderful guide. We were given a neutral view of the troubles as well as her own personal stories about what she remembers from growing up during them. She told stories of people that lost their lives and the ones who survived. She really helped you understand how it felt to live through the violence and uncertainty while carrying on with as normal a life as possible. If you enjoy history and hearing it from people who lived it call DC tours and ask to take a walk with Anne! (You'll also get some of her mum's recipes!!)
Awesome introduction to the Northern Ireland turmoil of the 70s. Raising was amazing as she clearly explained some of the most significant happenings during that time. Sometimes relaying it from the stand point of someone who was there even as a small child. Don't hesitate to book this great walk.
Our guide, Mylie, did an excellent job! So interesting and informative. Her passion really added a personal perspective to the tour. Would highly recommend!
Roisin gives a well balanced experience regarding The Troubles in Belfast. She is very articulate and is a great advocate to understand the past while looking forward to the future!!
