Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Belfast and soak up the scenery on the drive through the Glens of Antrim. After a short stop for photos at Carrickfergus Castle, continue along the rugged Antrim Coast to reach the first stop of the day – the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
Brave a walk across the historic rope bridge (March-Oct only; extra cost), which passes 100ft (30m) over the Atlantic Ocean and connects the coastal cliffs of Northern Ireland to Carrick-a-Rede Island.
Next, enjoy free time to explore the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage site. Snap photos of the extraordinary natural wonder as you clamber over its unusual basalt columns and look out over the windswept coast. Be sure to ask your guide how the Giant’s Causeway got its name too – Irish mythology tells stories of a giant named Finn MacCool.
After strolling along the Giant’s Causeway, stop for lunch at one of the coastal restaurants (own expense), before starting the journey back to Belfast. Along the way, stop to roam the ruins of the seafront Dunluce Castle, and hear how the medieval castle was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
After an action-packed day, end your tour back in central Belfast.

Excellent tour. We stopped at every planned stop even if it rained! I especially appreciated that each stop was timed short enough so we didn’t get bored at any one place. Our driver and guide did an excellent job and was quite the story teller and very gracious with everyone even though he did two jobs in one!!

Dave was an excellent driver and tour guide. You really come around and see all the spots mentioned with enough time to visit every place properly.

Fab Sunday well spent as a family, where for once, someone else was doing the driving! Mark was our driver and guide for the day and from the moment we approached the bus, we knew we had chosen the right one! He was very pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable and highly entertaining throughout the trip, whilst remaining professional. We had the same group of late comers at our stops and he was very calm and patient, although we wished they could be left behind LOL Our little one was very excited throughout the trip and we all had a fantastic time and would not mind coming back and also recommending! We wanted a relaxing day from a normal work/school week and this delivered. We were also very lucky as the weather was fabulous!

Really fun trip. Our guide Brian answered every question we asked. Every stop was interesting and worthwhile. Our guide and driver were great at communicating. Highly recommend

Dave, our driver and guide was amazing. Everything was timed well to include plenty of time at Dark Hedges and Giants Causeway. Wouldn't describe the coach as luxury; the mobile phone charging points didn't work. Apart from that, it was a great full day's adventure.

funny and knowledgeable tour guide, great sites, awesome time! tour guide really made the experience!

This was an amazing trip! Troy was a great driver who provided loads of information and made the journey entertaining. We had many stops at some lovely castles and a great lunch spot. The giants causeway was breathtaking, it was a nice sunny day and the waves were massive, making for the most stunning landscape. Wed highly recommend this trip to everyone!

Great tour, all as decribed and value for money as full day out. Plenty of time at Carrick Fergus Castle, Dark Hedges, Dunluce Castle and Giant's Causeway. Dave, our driver, was very funny, but informative and kept us entertained and on schedule. Would definetly recommend as saw so much.

We picked this specific bus trip because the amount of time at the Giant’s Causeway is 2 hours and we were able visit inside both Dunluce and Carrickfergus Castles, plus take the Dark Hedges walk,
And Dave was a really good and funny guide/driver.

It was really a nice experience.
Our Driver Tour Guide Dave made the tour even more interesting and funny from the time we left until we return to belfast.

We enjoyed this trip a lot. David was awesome and kept things on time and moving. It was so appreciated that we moved along so we were able to have ample time in each spot and arrive back on time.
Be prepared to pay extra (not a lot though) for both castles. Lunch was lovely.

Great tour. Well worth the price. The driver Dave was knowledgeable and hilarious at the same time. We were thinking about doing the drive ourselves but decided this would be more relaxing.
Tracy_B, Oct 2025
Great day from start to finish! Our driver was Troy he was funny and kept you informed of where we were going from each place ! Our trip was Giant Causeway etc! Would definitely recommend it great value for money !

Storm Amy provided a lot of rain and wind, but our tour director/driver Hugh was brilliant. He provided an interesting discussion of the history, culture, and geography of the region we traveled through. Despite the rain, there were enough sunny opportunities to appreciate the magnificent scenery. And, while the National Trust had limited access to some of the sites because of the weather, Hugh made sure we at least saw everything on our itinerary except one castle. At the end of the day, experiencing the Giants Causeway in extremely windy conditions was an adventure in and of itself.

This is a long day but we're able to see interesting sights and countryside. Trip was made by the commentary and humour of our driver David who was excellent.red route to the causeway is not that difficult but is quite long. Great views tho
Michelle_W, Oct 2025
This was a terrific tour and great value- Dave kept us entertained throughout the day, including Game of Thrones highlights and even clips on the bus. He told us exactly what to expect. Each stop was worthwhile- highly recommend!
Jeff_V, Sep 2025
Excellent one day tour of the Giant's Causeway and the Antrim coast, with numerous interesting stops and views from the coach. The highlight of the tour though was the commentary from Dave, the coach driver and guide, with his stories and anecdotes throughout. Dave controlled the coach full of passengers perfectly, ensuring that we always returned from the stops on time and the 9 hour tour was never boring
Barb_B, Sep 2025
Long day but very informative. Dave was our guide/driver and he kept the day fun and interesting. Enough time at each stop to experience the sights.
Marta_C, Sep 2025

Amanda_Y, Sep 2025

Fra_J, Sep 2025
Brilliant tour and even better coach driver, very informative and as much as he knew his knowledge his patter was better
Kerri_H, Sep 2025
We were thrilled with all of the stops especially Giants Causeway. Be prepared to pay additional for the castles and the lunch if you chose to enjoy them - but these experiences are incredible and well worth the small fee. Our driver David was awesome. He gave us great information and many laughs. The day flew by so fast!
Patricia_W, Sep 2025
Be prepred for some major elevation changes as you hike the Giants causeway. If you have any mobikity challenges, look for an onsite bus to take you fown to the water level. Our driver, Dave, was great, funny, knowlegeable and made the day very fun!
Russell_W, Sep 2025
As other reviewers have said, this is more that just a tour. City Tours Belfast clearly put a lot of importance on hiring the best drivers for this kind of work. We had Hugh - who was an absolute legend. He kept the entire tour entertained with stories, wit and humour throughout.
The tour itself was brilliant, we got authentic Northern Irish weather (so it rained), but that was all part of the experience.
Highly recommended and if you can get a tour with Hugh, you're in for a treat.

It's a long day but stunning coastline and a great way to get a flavour of what NI has to offer? Great commentary from Dave, our driver
Zoe_H, Sep 2025
Hugh was so amusing and entertaining whilst driving, the multitasking king! We got to take the scenic route of the coastline which was so beautiful.
Lisa_N, Aug 2025
An amazing day out. We saw so many sites and the tour guide was great fun. It was great to have someone take care of the driving and allowed a stress free day. The discount tickets for entry and food were a great addition.
Maxwell_W, Aug 2025
This experience was the highlight of my trip to Belfast! Dave is an incredible tour guide filled with knowledge and hysterical jokes. From Carrickfergus Castle to the Giant’s Causeway every hour was spent laughing, learning, and creating memories! Great tour!
Julia_C, Aug 2025
This tour was really good, the whole experience was perfect. The tour guide Dave was great and knowledgeable, he kept us on schedule and we got to spend enough time on each place, did not feel rushed and that is important to me the bus was comfortable.
Nora_F, Aug 2025
