This was an informative and relaxed tour. It was a wonderful way to see the coast and we particularly enjoyed seeing the small villages along the way. Paul is an engaging guide. He is very well informed, uses humour appropriately and talked just the right amount. I would highly recommend this tour, Paul as the guide and this company.

Patrick took us on the tour and he was hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Extremely informative and very funny, would definitely recommend anyone to go on this tour.

Karl was an amazing guide/driver. If you are lucky enough to have him take you on this revile trip you are lucky. This tour is not just for Game of Thrones fans it is just and incredible tour that should not be missed.

We really enjoyed the experience of the tour. The tour guide Patrick was funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. We loved the giants causeway, the game of thrones sights and the whiskey distillery. Highly recommend.

It is brilliant to know you enjoyed your time with us! Thank you for sharing your experience

This was a full day of activities and so worth it. The scenery was gorgeous and the timing for each activity was totally appropriate and never felt rushed at all. The lunch spot was delicious and our driver Kent was funny and really made the day outstanding.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on our day tour!

We took this tour 2 years ago and liked it very much, enough to take it again and share the experience with my sister, we both are big fans of GOT, although I enjoyed it I must say I was greatly disappointed that you removed the visit to the cave and instead added a visit to a whiskey distillery that we knew nothing about nor had anything interest on, it was basically a shop to spend money on whiskey. The time invested in this stop could easily be added to The Dark Hedges stop instead of rushing us to walk to and sprint back to the bus in record time, so upsetting.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience! We are delighted you travelled with us again - The tours itinerary is as advertised.
Please note ; Cushendun Caves are no longer open to the public - This is beyond our control.
We appreciate all feedback! However, we find may people enjoy experiencing the World's Oldest Whiskey Distillery!

Let me start by saying that this tour is fantastic. Every single stop along the way is breathtaking. The coach we used was perfectly clean, and our driver managed to provide a super smooth ride.
Now for the bad. We had the misfortune of our taxi driver dropping us at the wrong location, causing us to miss the tour.
We then asked if we could simply move our tickets to the next day. They told us no and that we needed to pay again. We really wanted to do this tour, so we accepted this, giving them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps there were barely any seats available for the following day.
However, when we showed up the next day, we were surprised to find 20 empty seats. We feel this was poor customer service since we weren't asking for our money back—just a change of date. That is why I am giving them a 1-star rating.

As we previously replied ;
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted you found our tour fantastic, and each location we visit breath taking! Also your positivity regarding our clean coach and brilliant tour guide/driver.
Please Note;
You missed your 8:30am coach departure.
McCombs Coaches are not responsible for this. Instead, personal accountability is required.
Two options were given, so you could meet the coach and complete the day tour with us. However, you decided against both of these and opted to purchase new tickets, for the following day.
It is necessary to state : Tickets are charged at a rate of £35. Priced Per Seat -
This does not vary based on how many passengers are booked to travel.
Terms and Conditions are stated and agreed upon at time of booking -
Date Changes are not possible within 24 hours of your travel date.
Therefore, it is definitely not an option, after the coach has departed.
Staff graced two Premium Seats - On the basis on kind gesture and understanding. It is extremely disappointing to receive your poor feedback, considering this.
Pleased you both enjoyed our tour, regardless!

I don’t really do reviews, but I thought I share this one. This was worth every minutes and $$$… Patrick is an amazing driver and guide. 8 plus hours is a long time, but when is well managed, explained and you’re kept entertained, the time goes by fast.

We appreciate your feedback and delighted you enjoyed our Day Tour!
Nicola_K, Dec 2025
Was an absolutely amazing experience - the guide was constantly talking the whole trip about the things we passed and how we could get there ourselves on the local bus. He had a great sense of humour and we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. The food at Fullerton arms was great - I recommend the sea food chowder. Was a great experience would recommend to my friends!!

Great trip to Giants Causeway. The trip was supposed to be related to Game of Thrones as well. Apart from the dark hedges, there was nothing GoT related. I had been on this trip 9 years ago and then we had a few GoT related things.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thanks for your review. It must be noted ; Carnlough Harbour, The Fullerton Arms for lunch, Dunluce Castle and The Dark Hedges are all included in the tour and feature Game of Thrones. Your driver will have provided all the information on this during their commentary while guiding the tour.

We took this tour last week as Game of Thrones fans hoping to see actual filming locations. Unfortunately, this tour has nothing to do with Game of Thrones at all. Please don’t be misled by the reviews or the tour title. It was simply a Belfast and Giant’s Causeway tour—nothing more. Never, never book this if you’re looking for a true GoT experience.
Some reviews claim they share insider stories from the show—absolutely not. They sell the same tour under two different names, which feels very wrong and completely fraudulent. There is another real GoT tour available on Viator, and that might be the one worth trying.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan please avoid this one. Since the official Studio Tour runs only twice a day, many people look for third-party operators—and tours like this take advantage of that. Very disappointing experience.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
It must be noted - As stated in the tours itinerary, Carnlough Harbour, Dunluce Castle and The Dark Hedges are all featured in the Game of Thrones and sites you visited on our day tour (as well as with multiple others locations).
Your driver will have commentated on which scenes were filmed here and other key information. The Fullerton Arms for lunch and The Dark Hedges also have 'Doors of Thrones' on sites to experience. These are doors made from the fallen trees at The Dark Hedges.
By giving the driver/guide your full attention, this would have been clear and more enjoyable as a Game of Thrones fan.
It is unfortunate you were not totally satisfied. However, you participated in the activity as advertised and purchased.

Our driver/guide Paul was funny, knowledgeable, and a great driver on those narrow NI roads! He told great stories along the way, and kept our busload of people (25 of us) on time. Total tour duration from pick up to final dropoff was just under 10 hours if that helps with your planning (0830 to 1820). We had about 90 minutes of self-guided time at the Giant's Causeway which was enough time to hike the entire trail and back, if you're a medium fast walker. I either didn't know or didn't remember that a visit to Bushmill's distillery was included - great surprise!
A lot of these Causeway tours look the same on paper. I can't tell you about any other ones, but the McComb's itinerary and Paul the driver were really great

There are journeys that transport us, and then there are journeys that transform us. Our day with Karl, wandering through Northern Ireland's mystical landscapes, was unquestionably the latter.
From the moment we left Belfast's bustling energy behind, we entered a different realm entirely – one where ancient stones whisper stories and the very air seems to shimmer with the presence of the land's timeless guardians. Karl understood this sacred quality intuitively. He wasn't merely an Irishman, driver or guide; he was a keeper of stories, a bridge between worlds, moving us through the landscape with humor, reverence and deep knowing.
We began at Carrickfergus Castle, where centuries of history pulse through damp weathered stone. Then onward to the Dark Hedges – that ethereal cathedral of intertwining beech trees where the veil between worlds grows wonderfully thin. Here, if you pause and breathe deeply, you can almost hear the whispers of Ireland's faeries dancing through the misty dappled light.
The magical old forests held us in their ancient embrace – trees that have witnessed centuries, their roots deep in stories we can only sense. We walked quietly through cool, damp countryside where time moves differently, where each breath brings the scent of earth and moss and memory. Cows and sheep grazed peacefully in the many emerald fields, their contentment a teaching in itself, while we stood overlooking dramatic cliffs where the Irish Sea stretches toward infinity.
At Carrickfergus, we explored among the castle's remaining walls – stone guardians that have weathered storms and held space for countless souls before us. There's a particular quietude that lives in these ancient places, a stillness that invites reflection.
Through Ballymoney we traveled, then to Carnlough Harbor where sea and sky merge in perfect harmony. Ballycastle, Ballintoy's dramatic coastal magic, the Giant's Causeway where earth's ancient creativity is rendered in basalt columns... each stop offered its own invitation to stillness, to simply be present with the profound beauty surrounding us. These weren't just destinations. They were portals to peace, chances to reconnect with something older and wiser than ourselves.
Karl honored this energy beautifully. His humor, his detailed knowledge enriched our experience without overwhelming the quiet magic of each place. He knew when to share stories and when to let the land speak for itself. At Bushmills Distillery, we found grounding warmth after our journey through these faerie-blessed landscapes.
What surprised me most was how this journey became a wellspring of inspiration – old as time insights flowing into my being as an author, reminding me of truths I write about but sometimes forget to embody. Here, among these ancient landscapes, I was gifted profound lessons about finding calm amidst the daily stress and worries we carry from our lives. Even on vacation, we often bring our burdens with us. But Ireland's timeless presence – the patient stones, the eternal sea, the forests that have weathered countless storms – whispered a different way of being. These lands have held space for human worry for millennia, and they remain, peaceful and whole.
Throughout the day, Karl went far beyond expectation, creating space for us to truly absorb the calming, peaceful energy that flows through Ireland's countryside like an invisible river. He understood, perhaps without words, that we needed not just to see these places, but to receive their medicine. He kept us safe, honored our pace, and delivered us back to our ship with time to spare – all while maintaining that gentle awareness that makes sacred travel possible.
This is more than a tour. It is an offering, a gift of connection to land that remembers everything and forgives everything. If your soul is calling you to walk where faeries still dance in morning mist, where ancient energies pool in standing stones and seaside cliffs, answer that call. And ask for Karl.
With deep gratitude for a day that fed the spirit as much as it delighted the eyes.

I must of only quickly browsed the intinary before booking, but I am glad it worked out that way because we covered so much. Much more than I expected, which was an added bonus. Our driver (John), who not only gave a brilliant breakdown on historical events and drove us around all day, he was also so kind; made us laugh; and gave us all the best travel advice. Overall, I loved the causeway tour and everything it entailed. Would recommend to others.

Our driver was very informative and funny. Dress warm and always be prepared for rain. There is no shelter. We got stuck in a rain and hail storm for about 15 minutes. There is only one shuttle running to the bottom and back. We walked both directions as it was way faster than wait for the shuttle. Great tour.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review. We agree - it is essential to come prepared for our typical Northern Irish weather!
