We booked this because of the reviews and it was 100% the right choice. Wilfred was the best guide. Super funny and knowledgeable. The guides played instruments, we had the best ceviche(poisson de le cru), the food was incredible. Snorkeling was amazing! Overall it was just an amazing experience.

For us this was a once in a lifetime experience. Nothing will prepare you for seeing a whale so close and in it’s own environment! We were lucky enough to see a turtle too as a bonus. If you’re not a strong swimmer you may struggle to keep up, I had to tie my wife along, other groups fell behind.

Ivy was an awesome guide. This was the absolute coolest experience. We did the afternoon tour which I’ve heard is harder to see whales, but we were able to see 4! With plenty more blows and tails out of the water too! Ivy knew what was doing and you could tell she just absolutely loves what she does. We went on a not so good weather day. It was pouring rain, but the experience was still amazing!

The rays and sharks are friendly!

An amazing experience to snorkel in warm, shallow water with rays and occasional sharks. Rays seem to like humans and are slickly pettable. Lunch on the island is fun, especially watching the coconut husking and food prep. In general though, these excursion boats are not designed for anyone not fit enough to climb into or off the boat. You do not swim from a beach. And you should be able to swim; no life jackets available.

Mataiva was a great guide! Super sweet and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed this tour! I would not have wanted to hike these. Lol. Beautiful views. We were in the back and the only rough thing was we were taking in all the fumes. We tried to stay a little bit away from the group for that reason. But it’s too be expected with multiple ATVs.

Life changing whale encounter

This experience was challenging, in the best way. The swim and the wait were both taxing, but what a payoff in terms of communing with these majestic creatures. Our guide Joaquin knew just how to position us to be directly on top of a mother and baby whale. Incredible, life changing experience. But please do make sure you are a strong swimmer!

Fantastic tour with...

Fantastic tour with everything you could want-island sightseeing, cultural info and best of all great food. We were on a cruise & picked up near tender port then driven to ferry dock for others on the tour & our 1st stop with fruit. Then on to scenic overlook for breadfruit chips & coconut. Did 3 different snack shops with great variety of food including baguette chow mein sandwiches (yes, you’ll love it!), Poisson cru & Poisson cru chinois & other dishes I can’t name but enjoyed. After those 3 savory dishes on to sweet with lime pie then sorbet. We were told to avoid breakfast & glad I did since this was enough to cover lunch as well. Loved the humor & Tahitian pride. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for something other than usual beach or snorkel.

Really really awesome...

Really really awesome experience. The guide Sebastian along with the captain took great care of us. I was a bit nervous with water at the begining and they helped me adjust the mask till I felt ok enough to continue. The 3 spots we stoped at were all amazingly unique and wonderful. You also get to play with 2 stingrays that seem to be good friends with the tour guide. I would do this tour again in a hearbeat!

A day trip to paradise

I know I’m saying the same thing as the other reviews but they are right. If you only do one excursion during your stay, let it be this. It was truly out of this world. We saw so many sharks, stingrays and even a turtle. Once you entered the boat you immediately felt like a family and the same happened once we reached the motu. The lunch with the sharks and stingrays swimming all around you was magical and I will forever remember this day, the sharks I saw and the love and kindness shown to me by complete strangers. One thing, bring watershoes instead of flipflops!

Great Snorkeling!

The snorkeling was fantastic. (Not as good as Bora Bora though, but still great.) Our guide and captain were both awesome, too. Just note, if you're taking the ferry from Tahiti, the dock they use is on the other side of the island and they don't pick up/drop off from the ferry. So I would only recommend this tour for someone staying on Mo'orea unless you want to make an entire day out of visiting the island (renting a car, etc.).
