We provide pick ups in Moorea, from most major resorts, airbnb, lodges, small hotels located on the north side of the island between Te Fare Mihi and the ferry dock from the north coast only. If you are located outside this zone, please notify when booking and we will propose a meeting location that you can meet us at with your rental car or taxi. We can also arrange pick up from cruise-ship tender docks on Moorea from Opunohu bay or Pao Pao Bay tender docks. We do pick up from cruise ship docks. Upon booking please provide your cruise ship name and tender dock name. If you are staying in Tahiti and are only visiting Moorea for the day, all extras costs for transportation from Tahiti (included ferry) will be at client's own expense. When traveling from Tahiti to Moorea to join the tour, please take the 8:00am Fast ferry and we will pick you up at the Moorea terminal at 9:00am

We did a Street Food tour today on Moorea- pickup at 8:30a and we were finished around 1:30p. We tasted fresh pineapple, roasted chestnuts (Mope)and cold coconut cubes while taking in a gorgeous view. We learned that ‘Snack’ places have the ‘locals’ favorites and there is a munging of three cultures in the choices (Polynesian, French and Chinese) - so we had a chow mein baguette- better than the one in Bora Bora. We finally got to try fried bread fruit, and it was amazing, somewhat like a french fry. And our favorite by far was the Poissan Cru Tuna-
Even Doug liked this raw fish in coconut milk and lime. We made about five stops and our last was the icing on the cake, the Rotui Juice Factory for fresh juices, and of course, the original Mai Thai from Tahiti. We will share more in our Moorea youtube episode GoTravelLife65, but can highly recommend this Tour.
At most of the stops, you are given plenty of time to order something on your own if you wish for something different than what is served on the tour or you want ‘more’

Our guide grew up on the island and was trained in culinary - could not ask for a better way to understand what life was like on the island and how different countries had influenced the cuisine we experienced. Food selections were excellent and things I would probably have not encountered, even being somewhat adventurous in trying new things. The tour also allowed for a little time here and there to gather souvenirs- food related or otherwise- which was appreciated because we had taken the ferry over from Papeete for the day. Highly recommend and one of the best food tours we have done in various cities.
Do not eat prior as there's going to be several stops. The portion sizes vary depending upon the venue.
Amazing food tour at Moorea with our guide (Hamate - sorry for the spelling). The tour is well-thought, the itinerary flows well and the food we had was very representative of the island. Our guide was highly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about it. He was happy to answer any questions we had and took time to explain in details how and why a dish was famous. I’d really recommend booking this tour to learn more about French Polynesia food.

Great experience from beginning to end. Learn a lot from our knowledgeable guide on Tahitian diverse food culture! We really enjoyed discovering and tasting all the different dishes at each stop we visited. This was a lot of fun.
The Moorea Street Food Tour was absolutely fabulous. We had already been on the island 2 days and had driven around looking for food, with little success, other than a grocery store, and hadn’t seen the places we toured. The food was varied, from snacks to cold and hot entrees and dessert. Recommendations were also made for other snacks and restaurants. The owner even made himself available for questions during our stay. A MUST DO activity, of course best early in your stay. Also, I have mobility issues and they were very accommodating and helped find places for me to sit.
It was well worth the price. H was a great tour guide. Because of this tour we were able to save so much money and knew just where to get food
The tour was worth every penny. We got to taste all the authentic flavors of French Polynesia. The tour guide took us to all hidden food places that no tourist would typically know where to find. We wouldn’t get the opportunity to try all the flavors of French Polynesia without this guide. I highly recommend
Wow what can I even say! I was the only English speaker of the group (besides 2 folks who knew a little English) and the host did everything he could to ensure I'd have the same experience as they did. He translated everything, came to me for 1-on-1 sessions for any Questions I had, and he made sure I wasnt uncomfortable with being the only one who couldnt speak French.
Solo traveling to Moorea, first time out of the USA, and this was the first excursion on my list. It was so great, that I havent found any other tours to top it. We tried local foods, tourist foods, were given "budget friendly" options to try after the tour, and we even were briefly shown around the island
I cant stop talking about this. I'm not usually much of a "foodie" when traveling but this sure turned me into one!
Made a was a wonderful guide who loved explaining the history and culture of French Polynesia through food! We tried things that we would not have otherwise thought to try.
We highly recommend this tour and especially to do it early in your trip. There were so many small places and unknown dishes we never would have ordered but loved. The fresh fruit with plum powder was a highlight, as was the poisson cru (of course!) and the guava pie. We enjoyed the Pacific, French and Chinese influences and I don’t think we were disappointed in a single bite.
Our host, Mareva, was kind, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her homeland and its cuisine. We learnt a lot about the many cultural influences on food here and how French Polynesia became such a melting pot of foods and people. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore, chat and learn new things. It was the perfect amount of food for us, too - we were full but not uncomfortably so and could still go snorkelling straight after the tour.
Mareva also went out of her way to give us tips such as the best places to snorkel, where the best places are to shop, where the supermarkets are and when to go. She was also kind enough to try to book us on a snorkelling tour the next day, and although she wasn’t able to she did give us three names to follow up and we successfully booked one. All in all, a wonderful and delicious day.
This is a must do in Moorea and the earlier in your trip the better. We did this tour day 3 of our tour and now have four quaint little eating haunts, great traditional cuisine we would have never tried and really gotten into Polynesian snack culture. Our host was incredible and knowledgeable and numerous and the tour group bonded over chats about food and life and holidays. One not to miss!
The perfect way to see the north part of Moorea! Heimata was a knowledgeable tour guide and took us to the best places around town! I definitely would recommend this food tour if you’re in Moorea :)
This is a must for the beginning of your stay on Moorea! H, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and made the experience as interesting as it was delicious! He also had many recommendations for places to see, things to do & of course, where to eat (which is why it’s good to go early in your stay!). These tours fill up fast so book early (like months). We really got to know the other 6 people in our group too, which was a bonus! Definitely book this tour if you want to learn more about how food and culture are interconnected!

This was a wonderful foodie tour! Not only did we find out about how the food was influenced by different cultures over the years we got a tour of the island! We had 16 tastings! H gave us great information about hiking! H dropped us off at the trailhead for Magic Mountain! It was a great touri would highly recommend this tour. Thank you H we enjoyed our day and hike.
Depends on guide. Ours was GREAT. The food did not appeal me but my wife loved it. A lot of sushi/sahimi.
We so enjoyed this food tour, Heymata took us to the local spots you’d not know to stop at. Tried many new things and left with some new favorites. He was accommodating of my dietary preferences which is challenging in a group setting but was no issue with him! We would absolutely do this tour again and recommend to anyone coming to Moorea

Foodie tourism should be done - highlighting and encouraging the existing local tastes, unique cuisine, and popular though casual outlets. Comfortable transport, great views, and knowledgeable chef-led foodie tour. What more could one ask for?

The street food tour was one of the best experiences we had on our trip! Our guide, H, had a clear passion for both food, local culture, and community. We ate a great sampling of dishes, learned how other cultures influenced their cuisines, and enjoyed conversation with him and the others on our tour. Don’t sleep on this one!! (Also gave great non-tourist trap options to eat out outside our hotel which we appreciated)
Heimata is such a wonderful ambassador for the island. The food was amazing and I really enjoyed learning more about the mix of cultures that influenced the food today.
