Ideal trip for individuals visiting Milan for a few days, looking for a reasonably priced day trip that hits the top sites around lake Como and Lugano. This is a small fairly intimate group tour by train (first class tickets included). You meet your guide and group at Milan Centrale Station. The guide will provide you with a crash course on the area and stops on the tour during the approx 40 min trip to Como (city). In Como the guide will give you recommendations for sites to visit in the city then allow you 60-90 minutes to explore the city and sites of interest. You will meet at the harbor then take a boat tour which will stop at 4-5 sites/towns along lake Como. Depending on the group consensus and if the group decides to disembark at a site/town, the boat tour can run from 40-60 minutes. The guide will highlight the major villas and towns along the lake and provide you with as much details as needed. On return to Como city you are given approx 90 minutes for lunch (with excellent recs from the guide) and additional exploration. Back on the train for a 20-30 minute trip to Lugano. Lugano is amazingingly beautiful, a must see/must visit. Again the guide gives you a primer on the town and recs for sites to see. You then get approximately 2hrs to explore this incredibly beautiful lakeside town with a Monte Carlo feel. You then take the train directly back to Milan Centrale, which takes just over an hour. Although our tour was planned to start around 9am, transport in italy, from the train to the lake como boat tour, are unpredictable. I believe we left Milan Centrale sometime after 10am and I was back in Milan before 5pm. Our guide Kyra was not only knowledgeable but was great at getting us the promised experiences despite the unreliable transportation. She is like a celebrity, knows the train conductors, guys running the boat tours.
