What are people saying about Mexico City

Highlight of our trip
We had such a wonderful experience with Lorena on our first day in Mexico City! Taking her cooking class was the perfect way to start our trip. Lorena was incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and she did such a great job making the experience both fun and educational. We started with a tour of Mercado Medellín, where we sampled a variety of fresh ingredients, fruits, tortillas, and even some insects! Lorena shared so much interesting history and insight into Mexican ingredients and their connection to the culture, which made the experience feel much more meaningful than just a cooking class. From the market, we went on to prepare a delicious four-course meal together. Lorena patiently guided us through every step of the preparation and cooking while explaining the history and traditions behind the dishes. We loved being able to make the meal ourselves and then sit down and enjoy everything we had prepared, along with our choice of beer, wine, agua Fresca or mezcal. It was an unforgettable experience and such a special introduction to Mexico City. We’re so glad we did this on our first day and would absolutely recommend Lorena’s class to anyone visiting CDMX!

A must-do cultural and FUN experience!
This experience was fantastic. We joined 7 others on a boat as a group of girlfriends. And it was a perfect celebration for 2 hours on a charming boat in the most local, fun way. We had a guac making competition, played games, heard mariachi, and delicious drinks. Cassie and her partner were so thoughtful and decorated the boat for our bday and cancer surviving girlfriends. I would highly recommend both 2Travel Amigas and this experience overall. It’s one for the books! One tip: secure a trip back with your uber driver and make sure you get dropped off at the right arch. It was difficult for us to find the right dropoff stop because of all the potential entrances and boats. Get there early to avoid making the others late. They were all gracious but that was the only mild hiccup in finding the team and group. Overall one of our favorite experiences in Mexico City!

Best tour guide of Roma Norte!
What a way to experience the city of Roma Norte through history and food. Our sweet tour guide, Camila, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and funny. She brought the local history to life and shared fascinating stories about the architecture and the people. She gave us a deeper appreciation for the culture. Gracias Camila! We highly recommend this food tour of Roma Norte!

Hello Historic Centre - Josette gave us the best intro to CDMX!
When they say a guide should feel like you’re walking through a city with a friend, it does with Josette. The moment we met her at Testal, her energy and vibes drew us in for what the rest of our food tour around the historic centre would be like. On a Thursday, it was just my partner and I who were on the tour, so pretty much had Josette as our private tour guide. From reading past reviews, we made sure we came with empty stomachs and we were already full by our 3rd tasting at the famous street food location El Caguamo for their ceviche tostada (my favourite dish on the tour, but I’m biased as ceviche has always been my favourite food). My partner’s favourite was the Corunda and 3 types of mole tostadas at Testal - our 1st tasting. Other call-outs include having wild boar for the first time and the yummy local drinks. I had hibiscus agua Fresca at Testal; clericot at Delicatessan Alexandra Gourmet in the Mercado de San Juan; carajillo at La Mascota and horchata at El Bajio! What was awesome besides the generous servings of food and drinks was seeing her rapport with the market vendors and restaurant staff. This made sense to us because of her infectious energy which made it fun to be a part of each of the different venues. For each venue, we had a mini history lesson on the different foods we tried and the venue itself (one being a former president’s home). The tour got even better when Josette became our photographer at notable places and streets within the historic centre like the Mercado de Artesanías y Curiosidades Mexicanas San Juan and the “sinking” school on our way to La Mascota. Our photos look amazing! Our tour wrapped up with a birthday surprise at El Bajio where Josette so thoughtfully organised a birthday flan for me. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness! If you love copious amounts of food and drinks and a bubbly and energetic guide who loves Mexico and what she does, book this tour with Josette! Thank you so much Josette and hope that our paths cross again (maybe in Sydney or Mexico City again!)
