What are people saying about Merida

This was a fantasy...
This was a fantasy experience and tour of the biosphere here in the Yucatán. I could not imagine coming to this area with such rich biodiversity and not seeing some of it firsthand. We saw Flamingos in flight which is rare. We saw crocodiles, other water foul, and the mangrove forests. Our guide Rodrigo was fantastic and we later took some time on the beach. I highly recommend the tour as it offers something very different than the others.

Excellent tour well worth the price
We booked a tour titled "Uxmal, two Amazing Cenotes & Local Food Tour from Mérida" and our guide for that tour was Jorge. The trip was very enjoyable, informative, and well worth the price thanks, in large part, to our guide, Jorge. Jorge has obviously worked hard to become very knowledgeable about the facts and history of Uxmal and of the Mayan civilization and he clearly has a passion for sharing that knowledge in a way that is very relatable and enjoyable for the members of the tour. I especially appreciated that he made a deliberate effort to avoid questionable and unsupported folklore and focused, instead, on clear and well-documented information. The cenotes were beautiful and Jorge allowed enough time for everyone to enjoy them. The local food tour was a serving of three delicious items made and served in a local village taqueria with a clear explanation of the cultural significance of the food we were having. I would recommend this tour without reservation to anyone interested in the history and culture of the Maya in Yucatan.

Great, small group tour- first group of the day!
Chichen Itza tour from Merida- the guide Delio did a great job making the Maya ruins come alive, he is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic able to answer the most specific questions with joy. The small group size made for an intimate day, I enjoyed meeting everyone on the tour. Getting to Chichen Itza early put us at the front of the line when the gate opened. This gave us ~15 minutes at the El Castillo where we could take photos w/o any other people in the frame. Suggestion- I could have easily spent 2 more hours at Chichen Itza, only having an hour on our own made it feel rushed (we entered at 8am and left at 10:45am).

I was sceptical about how...
I was sceptical about how pink the salt lagoons would be but was pleasantly surprised! The official tour guide at the Las Coloradas Park didn't speak much English, but our tour guide stepped in to help with English translation. He also took loads of photos for everyone on their phones. Personally I feel that the beach stop in the middle could be skipped entirely to shorten the day. Then the boat ride on the river was good fun and we had crocodiles come right up to the boat! A fun day and something a bit different if you already have lots of Mayan site tours booked.
