We enjoyed the combination of activities , in fact surprised by how informative the chocolate museum was. Uxmal was of course the highlight, but Kabah was a close second. It was excellent that we were able to climb up among the structures. Lunch was very good. There were choices on each course. Mauricio was a super guide.

It’s an excellent way to see two important Mayan sites and the height of the Puuc style, UXMAL and KABAH; our guide Pedro was excellent, very knowledgeable and impressively guiding in both English and Spanish. The lunch was really tasty and the museum of chocolate very interesting - highly recommend the cold/fredo chocolate drink at the cafe.

This tour is very balanced. We started with a visit to Kabah which is a phenomenal place, way smaller than Uxmal but also significantly less crowded which I really appreciated. Uxmal is just a stunning place and worth every penny. So much story in there, so many details to appreciate. You really need to go back if you want to really absorve the place. Our tour guide Raul did a monumental job explaining the big picture with the limited time we had. He was great, always in great spirit, showed a tremendous amount of knowledge about mayan history and the conversations were really engaging. He definitely was fundamental for this great experience. The chocolate museum was a good way to end the day, learned some interesting facts about the mayan connection with cocoa and we could taste some of it as well. Our driver Jorge was also great and made sure we arrived in time! The food at the restaurant was ok, I would recommend the guacamole over the lime soup. Overall this is a great tour and I 100% recommend it. I am actually planning to book a tour to Chichen Itza and hope the team is as good as this one!

meh. this felt like hunger games

    malaysiansongbird, Feb 2026
driver was punctual and guide was fluent in spanish and english. sadly as the only non spanish speaker, i definitely missed out on the inside jokes and most explanations felt like a “lost in translation” (turn left more intensity) moment. google translate was helpful when there was signal. the worst part of the trip was being starved until 2pm. granted thet this is mexico and a late lunch is more of a norm. we all mentioned we were famished but the guide just nodded and i think he just wanted to complete the travel itin. honestly, considering the other mexicans tourists also felt starved; and that we started at 8am with no complentary snacks and no water, this felt more like torture. fortunately i always travel with food and water, as should you if you decide to embark on this tour. the chocolate museum was meh; it was very sad to see the caged animals in close proximity, the chocolate drinking ceremony was the highlight but that only took 10 mins. overall meh.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very glad to hear that you found the driver punctual and the guide fluent in both Spanish and English. Our guides always do their best to communicate clearly with all travelers, and we’re sorry if at any point something felt lost in translation. We continuously work on making sure all explanations are clear and inclusive for everyone in the group. Regarding lunchtime, the itinerary — including the approximate lunch time — is clearly specified on the booking page prior to confirmation. We also send recommendations in advance suggesting that guests bring water and light snacks, as this is a full-day tour that begins at 8:00 am. Many travelers appreciate this information to plan accordingly. All stops included in the experience, including the Chocolate Museum, are detailed before booking so guests can choose the tour that best matches their interests. The museum is also a registered UMA (Wildlife Management Unit) dedicated to the care and protection of rescued animals, which is an important part of its mission. We understand that every traveler has different expectations and preferences. Nevertheless, we truly appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving the experience for future guests.

    Kara_K, Feb 2026
Jorge and Annie (sp?) were great guides, it was a friendly group, and the sites were beautiful. Navigating the steep stone stairs was at times hard. If you have mobility issues Kabah may not be possible. The bus was also extremely cramped, especially in the back. If you're tall or larger I recommend getting picked up at the headquarters/first pickup and getting there early to sit towards the front. On one of the bumpier stretches of road I smacked my head.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the sites and the guidance from Jorge and Annie. We also appreciate your comments about accessibility and comfort, as they help us improve and better inform our guests.

    Beautiful, fascinating and exhausting.

    Dawn_C, Jan 2026
Uxmal is big, lots of walking and a fair amount of climbing, but it's beautiful and fascinating. Pedro was a wonderful guide, very considerate and accomodating. Choco-Story was a little different than I had anticipated, but all for the better. The lunch we had was as expected for a tour group. It tasted good but was barely warm. Don't choose the pok chuk, it was tasty but dry and tough as a piece of shoe leather. I'm 70 and not in great shape so physically it overwhelmed me a bit, but I would definitely endorse going.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience. We’re glad you found Uxmal fascinating and that Pedro took great care of you throughout the tour. We appreciate your honest feedback about the lunch and the physical demands, as it helps future travelers prepare. We’re happy to hear you would still recommend the experience and hope to welcome you again. 😊

This tour to Uxmal and Kabah was very good -- much better than our earlier tour to Chichen Itza. We had plenty of time to visit the ruins and our guide Pedro gave us succinct, clear explanations in both English and Spanish at both sets of ruins. Lunch was good. The chocolate place was a self-guided tour, not quite what we expected. Nonetheless, it was interesting and we got to see some Jaguars! All in all, it was a good day.

Our tour guide Raul was incredibly knowledgeable the historic informaton we received was on point. The tour was beautiful, we skip the lines and ate at a nice local restaurant that is included in the tour. Overall a great experiene I always book all my tours with Viator they always work with local agencies that are top notch around the world. I've used them in Rome, Greece, Mexico and Colombia.

    The tour is in fact...

    Frederic_A, Dec 2025
The tour is in fact great. The only problem is the fact that it is suppose to be bilingual, which means you need to want half of the time during the explanations. That is is theory because since most of our Group was speaking in Spanish, the guide spoke a lot more in Spanish than English during the first visit. So , My wifi, who does not understand Spanish at all, missed most of the informations. When she asked the guide to speak more in English, she was really rude and did not admit she was speaking more in speaking. The way she treats my wifi in front of the Group was very unprofessionnal. She then spoke more in English and we were able ton understand everything for the 2 last visits. I send a privtae message to the company . It seems they don't really care since i received and answer written with Chatgpt. I would note book with this company again.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate it. We would like to respectfully clarify a few points for transparency. The tour you booked is indeed bilingual, and as clearly stated on our website at the time of reservation, guests speaking Spanish and English travel together in the same vehicle. During this tour, there were several English-speaking guests on board who were able to follow the explanations and did not express any concerns. Our guide provided explanations in both languages throughout the day, adapting to the group dynamics, which is standard practice on bilingual tours. That said, we regret to hear that your wife felt uncomfortable during the first visit. That is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and we take comments about professionalism very seriously. Regarding your private message, we would like to clarify that the response you received was written personally by our team. We strive to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with all our guests, and we regret if the tone did not meet your expectations. We are glad that the last two visits were fully understandable and enjoyable for you. Your feedback has been shared internally, as it helps us continue improving our service. We appreciate your visit and wish you all the best in your future travels.

    Phenomenal Experience!!!!

    David_C, Nov 2025
My wife and I took the Uxmal/Kabah tour with Diego (driver) and Anel (tour guide), and we had an amazing experience! Anel is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging—she brings the history, context, and stories behind these archaeological sites to life. The food was excellent, and the weather was perfect for this type of adventure. One thing we really appreciate about Colibrí Tours is how well they design their day trips. Whether you’re looking for a quick outing or you only have a few days to explore, they make sure you get the most value for your time and money. Highly recommended! It’s quickly becoming a bi-weekly activity for my wife and me. A quick tip: bring cash, a hat, and comfortable shoes—you won’t regret it!

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 We're thrilled to hear that you had an amazing experience with Diego and Anel — we’ll be sure to share your kind words with them. Thank you also for sharing those helpful tips for future travelers. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next adventure! 🙌✨

Thumbs up! Leave it to the end!

The site at Uxmal Kabah is the best archeological site available through these tours. It is not as crowded as the other sites and you get plenty of time to explore on your own. The lunch is acceptable, not great culinary experience but we have to eat to continue the visits.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your feedback! 🌟 We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed Uxmal and Kabah — they’re truly special sites, and it’s great that you had plenty of time to explore without the crowds. We appreciate your honest comment about the lunch; while it’s meant to be a practical stop to keep the day going, we’re always looking for ways to improve. Thanks for traveling with us!

What a well organized tour. Our guide Saul was amazing!! The knowledge that was given at the sites we visited was very helpful. It’s great they speak in Spanish and English. The van was very nice and comfortable. Saul kept us abreast every step of the way of what was to take place next. I must say lunch was incredible. Usually on tours like this you get no lunch and if you do it’s very minimal. We had an appetizer, main course and dessert. It was a full day so be ready to do a lot of walking and climbing up stairs. I will say at Uxmal there are two fees. One must be paid in pesos and the other can be pesos or card. Overall I am happy I booked with them and I would do it again. They were very professional and kind.

    Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you for your detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you had such a positive experience and that Saul made the tour enjoyable and informative. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again on another adventure!

Thanks to Annel our guide and Luis our driver for allowing us to visit Uxmal and Kabah. Uxmal archeological site is a must-see. Kabah is also impressive, both sites are very close but kind of different, so Kabah is a good complement to Uxmal. Thanks again to Annel for answering all our questions taking care of organizing everything for us.

Good tour to see Ismael and Kabah in a day

    Janice_M, Sep 2025
Good tour to see Uxmal and Kabah in one day. Both sites were beautiful and I highly recommend. The tour also included the Chocolate Museum at the end, which was Ok. I got to see spider monkeys, a leopard, and taste the Mayan hot chocolate at the museum. The tour guide did not seem very knowledgeable about the sites. He did walk us through the beginning of each, said very little about the architecture or history, and gave us time at the end to explore. Lunch at Halach Huinic was delicious.

    Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience with such honesty and detail! 🧡 We're glad to hear you enjoyed the beauty of Uxmal and Kabah, as well as the visit to the Chocolate Museum—seeing spider monkeys, a leopard, and tasting Mayan chocolate sounds like a very special end to the day 🍫🐒🐆 We also appreciate your feedback about the guide. We greatly value this type of feedback, as it helps us improve the quality of our explanations and ensure every visitor has an enriching experience in every way. And how wonderful it was that lunch at Halach Huinic was delicious—we love that the local cuisine was also part of the enjoyment! 🌮✨

    Fascinating History

We had a really good time on this tour! We enjoyed learning all about the Mayans and exploring the incredible sites at Uxmal and Kabah—such fascinating history. The Chocolate Museum was a fun addition, and we especially enjoyed seeing the animals there, including monkeys, jaguars, and other native species we hadn’t expected. Overall, it was a fun and memorable day, and we’re glad we had the chance to experience it.
