Jorge was an excellent guide and extremely knowledgeable about Mayan history.
The second denote was amazing.

This was a really good tour, made excellent by our very knowledgeable tour guide Jorge. He had a great passion and shared lots of interesting information on not just the history of Uxmal but also of the local fauna and flora.
It was nice to share lunch with him and to pick his brains further, and he was happy to indulge our curiosities.
Then it was off to the Cenotes, which were both amazing in their own way. The first was not covered and had lots of fish in the crystal clear water. Jorge again was able to inform us of the local wildlife. The second one was more inside a cave, which was spectacular.
It was very hot on this day, so I would recommend bringing lots of water (although there are opportunities to purchase more on the day). Also, the facilities at the cenotes were very basic and not as 'polished' as the facilities at other cenotes. However, this is to be expected when going to such rural areas anywhere and didn't detract at all from the experience.

Tour was great and really well organised. Jorge was very friendly, knowledge and has a great sense of humour - he made our day!

This experience is a must. Jorge, the tour guide, made Mayan history come alive and helped make this an unforgettable vacation. He also was so organized, efficient, communicative, and full of humour and knowledge.
Wonderful day exploring, eating, and swimming.

This was a highlight of my trip to Mexico, Jorge, our driver and guide went over and above to ensure we had an unforgettable day in the Yucatan, treating us like family.
Jorge is incredibly knowledgeable about history and wildlife (and in fact anything). He brought the ruins of Uxmal to life, teaching us how to read the symbols and carvings of each building, telling the story that led to the downfall of the Mayan empire. Jorge's storytelling was evidence-based which the whole group enjoyed, focussing on facts and avoiding unsubstantiated claims that we heard other guides repeating. For this reason the tour feels like you are being led around by a true expert (because you are!).
Uxmal itself is much quieter than other well-known sites and offers lots of shaded areas under trees to allow some respite from the sun. This makes for a more intimate and relaxing experience.
We were then taken for a traditional Mayan lunch which I was very pleased wasn't at a touristy themed venue, but a very real small family restaurant. The food was delicious and healthy and we really enjoyed the two traditional drinks offered with it, an ice hibiscus tea and a barley drink (a bit like horchata if you've tried that). Again Jorge told us the story of the relevance of the ingredients used and how far their use dated back.
Next we visited two Cenotes to cool down. The first was I think our favourite out of the 4 we visited during our whole trip. The water was crystal clear, it wasn't too busy and the walls of the Cenote were teaming with wildlife. Life jackets were provided at both, don't hesitate to get in or you will regret it for the rest of your life!
Taking this trip is a no brainer, you could certainly get to Uxmal cheaper by yourself, but you would miss out on the story of the site and on meeting a truly inspirational character (Jorge). The transport was very comfortable and air conditioned and his driving made for a relaxing journey.

An early (7.30) start for a fantastic day with all morning at Uxmal. Light lunch (Mayan tacos) at family restaurant (clean toilets!). Bring swim gear for the ceynote (steep stairs). Back Mérida around 4.15
Great guide and driver Jorge really brings Mayan world to life at amazing Uxmal (as good as Palenque & Chichén Itzá but different landscape and style). Transport really comfortable w ten of us on 16 seater van.

We booked a tour titled "Uxmal, two Amazing Cenotes & Local Food Tour from Mérida" and our guide for that tour was Jorge.
The trip was very enjoyable, informative, and well worth the price thanks, in large part, to our guide, Jorge.
Jorge has obviously worked hard to become very knowledgeable about the facts and history of Uxmal and of the Mayan civilization and he clearly has a passion for sharing that knowledge in a way that is very relatable and enjoyable for the members of the tour. I especially appreciated that he made a deliberate effort to avoid questionable and unsupported folklore and focused, instead, on clear and well-documented information.
The cenotes were beautiful and Jorge allowed enough time for everyone to enjoy them.
The local food tour was a serving of three delicious items made and served in a local village taqueria with a clear explanation of the cultural significance of the food we were having.
I would recommend this tour without reservation to anyone interested in the history and culture of the Maya in Yucatan.

Jorge was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and a great guide, we learnt a lot! He even took pictures for everyone and was a very personable guide. Both cenotes were nice and relatively quiet.
Alex_Y, Mar 2026
Visiting Uxmal was incredible. The site is stunning and far less crowded than other major ruins, which made it even more enjoyable to explore. The two cenotes were absolutely beautiful and a perfect way to cool off in the Yucatán heat. A special thanks to our driver and guide Jorge, who is also a researcher. His knowledge about the region, its history, and Maya culture made the experience far more meaningful. Lunch was also very nice, with delicious local food that added another authentic touch to the whole experience. All in all, great tour!

This was our first trip to Uxmal, which I found to be every bit as impressive and Chichen Itza, but without the crowds and aggressive vendors. We then went to two rural cenotes (there are bathrooms and changing rooms); both were beautiful and refreshing and also not too crowded. Sergio is a great guide! Would definitely recommend.
mehebub_k, Mar 2026
Jorge is very knowledgeable about the archaeology and biology and history of Uxmal! He is also very entertaining!
janit_d, Mar 2026
Jorge was very knowledgeable about the sights, including the history, the environmental changes that occurred during the time and the impacts on the communities. He was very pleasant, funny, very inclusive made everybody feel comfortable, and he engaged participants. We enjoyed ourselves and would book with him again and would recommend doing him to others.
Alex_B, Feb 2026
Sergio was a great guide and safe driver, telling us stories when we had questions, letting us just look out the window when we didn’t. Our guide at Uxmal, Jesus, was informative and friendly. The best part was the open air cenote - we were basically the only 12 people there, and it was like a movie set, totally surreal and beautiful.
Vivian_R, Feb 2026
This entire tour from beginning to end was so well planned and executed! Uxmal was next level incredible, it literally took my breath away. I enjoyed learning about the history of the Mayas and the local culture from Rodrigo. He was super knowledgeable, eager to share and a very fun tour guide. I felt very taken care of, and loved the detail of free water too. The lunch was delicious (shout out the salbutes/panuches) and the cenotes were nothing short of magical. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a day trip from Merida!
Kent_W, Feb 2026
Highly, highly recommended. Uxmal was very interesting, and swimming in the Cenotes was just magical. The food was really good, too, and our guide Rodrigo was great! Overall maybe the best day trip I've done!
Melanie_D, Feb 2026
Rodrigo was an excellent guide! Very enthusiastic and so knowledgeable about Mayan culture. We learned a lot about the area. The whole experience was amazing, highly recommended!
Tim_P, Feb 2026
Fantastic day out at Uxmal and cenotes. Uxmal was our favorite archeological site that we visited in Mexico. The cenotes were a refreshing experience. It's also worth mentioning the fantastic local lunch provided on the trip. Equal to anything we've had in some more expensive establishments. Highly recommended.
Tyler_S, Feb 2026
Jorge was an incredibly engaging, informative, and fun tour guide - we learned a lot and enjoyed his presentation. The pacing of the tour was perfect, the food delicious, the cenotes beautiful. Cannot recommend enough!
Suzanne_K, Feb 2026
Sergio was a great guide. He took very good care of us. The official guide at Uxmal was very good. The lunch was excellent, with better food than we had in Merida. The cenotes were beautiful with wonderful swimming and surroundings. We highly recommend this tour.
Mark_R, Feb 2026
We had a wonderful day with Jorge as our driver and guide. He is very knowledgeable regarding Uxmal and the history of the Mayan community. The cenotes were beautiful and peaceful. Lunch in between the two activities was delicious and authentic. This tour offers a less crowded experience than some of the tours to other Mayan archaeological sites and cenotes.
Denise_H, Jan 2026
It was a great day with our guide Sergio. He’s a very safe driver, friendly and fluent in English. We got to the ruins right when they opened and had the place almost to ourselves. Then we went to 2 cenotes after lunch and swam which was a lot of fun. The day was well paced.
Ye_S, Jan 2026
Our guide, Jorge, was very helpful and accommodating. He’s a full-time researcher and very knowledgable with Mexican history. We had a great time!
Julie_O, Jan 2026
Great experience with lots of cool history about the ruins, an authentic lunch with dips in two cenotes.
Our guide Jorge was fantastic! So knowledgeable, but also super easy going. Great day!
Lisa_H, Jan 2026
Sergio was a wealth of information and really fun to travel with to Uxmal, an authentic lunch, and two amazing cenotes. Wonderful day in the Yucatan.
Elliot_L, Jan 2026
We had the most terrific time with Jorge! He was kind, funny, knew tons about Uxmal, took us to some hidden Cenotes which only locals knew, and was a pleasure to be with.
The tour was extremely well organised, moved swiftly but never in a rush, and does not include too much driving - which other tours regularly do.
Would highly recommend for a well priced and highly enjoyable day out !
Paula_B, Jan 2026
The tour guide Jorge was amazing. He was polite, efficient, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The tour of Uxmal was very informative and covered a lot of the site. The cenotes we visited were lovely to cool off. The days was well paced and good value. Would definitely recommend Jorge.
Aaron_S, Jan 2026
Jorge Eduardo is one of the best guides you could have. He was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about Uxmal and the cenotes. Excellent day
Allison_B, Jan 2026
Eric was an exceptional guide and we had the perfect day touring Uxmal and swimming in two cenotes. He made sure to accommodate everyone’s eating restrictions for lunch and was very knowledgeable and gracious at every turn. It was a day of perfection as far as tour go. I would do this tour again in a heart beat.
Howard_S, Jan 2026
Sergio was a safe driver and made sure everyone on the tour had a good time. He took are of all food allergies during the delicious lunch. The two cenotes were a lot of fun and the tour guide (Jesus) at Uxmal was fantastic. I would recommend this activity.
ANDRE_G, Dec 2025
The cenotes are worth the trip by themselves. Food was great! Uxmal is impressive, but the cenotes are more beautiful...
