What are people saying about Luxor

Abu Simbel Tour
We were a group of 8 on a Viking RiverCruise. The excursion to Abu Simbel did not have enough plane seats available for all of us so we booked the day through Viator. We were connected with Omar, our tour guide from Black Dragon Tours. He did a fabulous job. Excellent historical knowledge and a joy to travel with. We had a private 8 person tour in a comfortable van that drove us 3 hrs to the temples. Yes a plane ride is much quicker but would have had to sit in the airport waiting for 2 hrs to leave so we arrived at the site at least 45 min before them. It was quite interesting driving thru the Sahara dessert and learned quite a bit about it. We arrived safely about 10:00 AM and had the entire place to ourselves!! Not a single person in the temples with us. As we were finishing up the groups from out boat that flew were just arriving. The point is we saved $400 per person on the same excursion, had the best experience at the temples and arrived back only 30 min after everyone else. This is a great alternative. Request Omar he’s wonderful!!

An Unforgettable Day in Luxor
My friend and I booked this full-day Luxor tour and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. Over the course of one remarkable day, we visited the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor Temple, and Karnak Temple — an ambitious itinerary that was pulled off seamlessly thanks to two exceptional people. Our driver, Mahmood Salek, was outstanding from start to finish. He navigated a packed schedule with impressive efficiency, getting us to every site safely and on time without a single moment of stress. Beyond logistics, Mahmood added real warmth to the day — sharing his knowledge of the local area and giving us a genuine window into life in Egypt. That personal connection made the experience feel so much richer than a standard tour. Our Egyptologist guide, Alaa Korany, was simply in a class of his own. His depth of knowledge across every single site was extraordinary, and what set him apart was his ability to tailor the experience to our interests and keep up with every question we threw at him. His passion for Egyptology is completely authentic — you can feel it — and it made each monument come alive in a way that no guidebook ever could. We cannot praise him highly enough. We had a little extra time before our flight, and both Mahmood and Alaa went out of their way to make sure we used it well and left with smiles on our faces. That level of care and hospitality speaks volumes. If you're visiting Luxor, do not hesitate to book this tour. Ask for Mahmood and Alaa by name — you won't regret it.

The optimal choice!
I had one of the best tours of my life! I traveled solo, and the car was clean, modern, and equipped with A/C. Reem provided great historical context before we dove into each site, creating a truly well-articulated narrative. The team was incredibly flexible with time and adapted to my pace, whether I needed more time for questions and exploration or wanted to move a bit faster. They were also wonderfully transparent about the local culture, offering helpful advice on tipping, food, and anything else I needed.

A tour for those who want depth
I travel a lot and and I love history. In my first time in Egypt I needed tours that would allowed me to learn as much as possible in a digestible way. This is exactly what I got in this tour. Amira gave me the depth I wanted while exploring the West side of Luxor. She was able to give me enough details about the temples and tombs to make me feel knowledgeable about ancient Egypt afterlife traditions. Amira is very experienced with more than 26 years as a guide and she is able to dispense her expertise at the right amount. The tour took about seven hours, including lunch. We covered multiple temples, the valley of the kings, the valley of the queens and the city of the artisans, with a brief stop by the Colossi. The pace was comfortable and conducive to a lot of Q&A interactions. This is a tour for people who want to go beyond the highlights and I highly recommend it.

Egypt’s ancient wonders come alive in Luxor. There’s so much history here that you’ll want to book a tour (or three) to make the most of your visit. Options include private excursions for a more personalized experience, multi-day Nile River cruises, hot-air balloon flights over the valley, and plenty of opportunities for visiting world-famous sites such as the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
