Amazing day in Kyoto!!

Katsu was absolutely amazing and made our day in Kyoto so seamless and fun. He’s a Kyoto local and took us around to all of the main attractions while sharing so much interesting history and local knowledge that we definitely would have missed on our own. He also took tons of photos for us throughout the day, which we really appreciated. Beyond being a great guide, Katsu was just so normal, kind, and easy to spend the day with — which honestly makes such a difference on a full-day tour. His car was very clean and comfortable, and he was incredibly accommodating, stopping anytime we needed water or a bathroom break. He really catered the entire day to what we wanted to do, including lunch. We mentioned we wanted sushi, and he took us to an amazing local spot that we never would have found ourselves. It felt like spending the day with a knowledgeable local friend and told him to visit us in San Diego! I was nervous since this tour was not as big but was soooooo impressed! Highly recommend Katsu if you’re visiting Kyoto!

Khan is the man with the plan! We had a wonderful outing from Kyoto. Khan was polite and so accommodating to all of our wishes. He walked us to the sites, gave us some tourist information and was always sure to pick us up right where he said he would be. He suggested stops we may not have considered but was quick to assure us that they were only suggestions. They were great suggestions though! He's an excellent driver and knows the area well. Our tour in Kyoto was amazing! Kyoto is a magical city especially during Sakura blooming! Our guide Takuma managed to show us Kyoto’s most iconic sights as well as the city’s hidden gem and treasures. Takuma was super knowledgeable and passionate about Japan’s culture and history, he was also very friendly and flexible with great command of English language. Great way to see several shrines and the Gion district

Yui was super communicative and very warm and friendly! She took us all around the Gion district and nearby shrines. She explained to us how to navigate the shrines (the customs around entry, offering, and prayer) as well as the purpose each one served, and she gave us ample opportunities along the way to take photos or participate if we wanted to. She was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the area and culture that we took with us on our future days in Kyoto. Overall, I really enjoyed this tour, and it felt thorough and well worth the time and money! Thanks again to Yui; she really was great! She even helped with some questions I had after-the-fact and recommended a good shopping area and some good restaurants.

Fantastic tour worth every penny. Kyoto has a lot to see and having a private car with driver in ADDITION to tour guide is a huge benefit. You can get dropped off by entrance of each destination and then picked up by the exit. Very convenient! Our tour guide Ken Yokosuka was FANTASTIC. Professional, friendly. Nobu san made our day! ...

Nobu san made our day! Easy meet up location and comfortable van with AC and phone chargers. I gave him a list of places we wanted to see and he helped map out the best route. He spoke English well and added history and interesting facts to each of our locations even though he’s technically not supposed to be our tour guide…but that’s exactly what he was. We wanted to get away from the crowds for lunch and he took us to his favorite neighborhood ramen place and explained to us how their broth is so unique and a traditional Kyoto style broth (pork bone with a little chicken broth that lightens it! So good!). Toward the end of the day we hit Fushimi Inari which I told him felt like a tourist instagram traps and we could wait to get out of there. He suggested a place of the beaten path and we’re so glad we went. It was a Buddhist temple high in a hilltop with views of all of Kyoto, and it was practically empty (probably because you’d need a car to get there). It ended up being our favorite place and had the best pictures. Oh and at every stop he knew the best spots for pictures which my daughter appreciated. She’d even ask him where would make the best picture! And he graciously took pictures for us when asked. For a day trip from Tokyo, I highly recommend booking a car and driver and 5 stars for Nobu San!

Our family had a great time. Going in the morning is definitely the way to go as Arashiyama can definitely get busy quick. We went in the spring so it was a bit cold during the beginning part of the ride, but gloves are provided. Don, our guide, was very knowledgeable of the area and Japanese culture. A highlight of our trip. I unexpectedly found myself in a wheelchair unable to walk lots so this was a way to see the city still and it turned out to be one of our best Japanese experiences. Josh is excellent! He made sure to optimize our schedule according to major tourism times so that we could avoid overcrowding as much as possible during our 7 hour tour. He had great recommendations for shopping areas and lunch. Our tour was incredibly informative and he was so nice. I highly recommend.
