What are people saying about Edinburgh

Edinburgh, a place for history lovers
Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in Scotland. The history and architecture of the city can’t be matched. The people are devoted to maintaining the history and tradition of Scottish life. Traffic is very congested with buses, walking can be tiresome with all the hills, but I highly recommend using the hop-on, hop-off buses. You will see a lot more of the city.

One of the Best Tours and Tour Guides
First, “Big G” (Graeme) was so personable and incredibly knowledgeable. The history as we explored Old Town was made both fascinating and entertaining! Edinburgh is a city full of history, mystery and architectural delights. And we learned about all of this with one of the best tour guides we ever had.
Thank you Big G!

10/10 tour!
Ben was an amazing tour guide! He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile tour so enjoyable. I learned a lot and had a great time. Definitely recommend this tour and Ben as your guide. And one important tip: bring an umbrella… Edinburgh weather likes to join the tour too! ☔😂

A fantastic tour!
My wife and I did this tour with Allison, a historian. We had Allison all to ourselves as a couple of others had cancelled. Allison was PHENOMENAL! She was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and went out of her way to ensure that we had a wonderful time. Do this tour with Allison - she is one of the best guides we have ever had!

Stories amidst the masses.
We had a great tour guide in Nicola. Superb story telling. We were unfortunate to be there in the day of the festival with 1,000,000 other tourists. This made it very difficult to traverse the route, but Nicola tried very hard to keep us going . I was very tired at the end from dodging huge crowds and trying to listen to the history. I could have done better with a bit fewer stories and a bit shorter tour due to the fatigue factor. This was not Nicola’s issue- she was delightful. She did the best she could with the situation. I did get a good feeling for Edinburgh’s sordid history!!!

Fantastic experience!
Kaffe was a truly excellent guide. His passion for history shines through in his wonderful storytelling skills. We got a guided tour because the regular tickets for the castle were sold out, but now I'm so glad we did it that way. I don't think we would have had nearly the depth of experience that we did without Kaffe. I also thought it was super sweet that one of the little kids came up to him afterwards and said how much he wished Kaffe would be his history teacher at school. <3

Lafayette was a fantastic guide.
A very unique tour. Edinburgh was jam packed with people because of the August festival season. Our guide Lafayette did a very nice job of managing the group and navigating through the crowd. The content was fantastic. Be warned though that the underground part in the end could be claustrophobic for some people and challenging for kids. Choose a family friendly tour (6:45pm for us) that is a bit more PG.

Castle with Sonia
Dress warmly. Windy and chilly even in August and the wind is unbelievable. A good raincoat a must. The castle is stunning and awe inspiring . Don’t miss the was chapel. The windows are amazing. Sonia was a fantastic guide and made sure we had all the information we needed to see everything.

Excellent Harry Potter Tour
This is a great tour for any Harry Potter fan. Leo did an excellent job highlighting the history and background for where the it all started and the influences behind characters and themes within the novels. Leo was very engaging and made the tour fun, he was also great with kids. I highly recommend this tour during your stay in Edinburgh.

All the Scottish highlights
Absolutely loved our food tour with Tamara. She was fun, friendly, and full of information on the food we were sampling and the city of Edinburgh. We had 4 stops, although I understand they can vary. Ours definitely hit Scottish highlights:
Stop 1: Haggis, neeps and tatties. To drink, Irn Bru
Stop 2: Scotch Egg
Stop 3: White fish and wine
Stop 4: Sticky Toffee Pudding. To drink, whiskey or beer
We all left full, but not too full. We have done a lot of food tours in a lot of different countries and this ranks amongst the best.

Definitely book!
Stuart was our guide on a rainy day and it was totally worth it! He’s a wealth of knowledge and helped us find areas we would not have found on our own. He also provided us with insight into many of the buildings we had passed by and made it a more meaningful experience!

Great Edinburgh Tour!
This was a great tour. Our guide (French) was very knowledgeable and gave us quite a bit of history and context starting below ground and throughout royal mile. I highly recommend if you are visiting the city. BTW, To meet with the group, look for the little white kiosk outside of Starbucks!
