Our tour of Cinque Terre was wonderful from start to finish. The ride was comfortable and the scenery was simply breathtaking, but what truly made our trip special was our guide, Deanna. Deanna was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. She shared so much history and insight about the areas we drove through and the villages we visited. What stood out most was that her knowledge went beyond the textbook. She shared stories and details she'd picked up from locals over the years, which gave us a real feel for the region and its people. Honestly, the trip would have been nice on its own, but Deanna turned it into a truly great experience. If you have the chance to book a tour with her, don't hesitate. Highly recommended!

Fantastic day trip from Florence to Cinque Terra. The trip was an easy van ride to Cinque Terra where we got to walk around three of the 5 towns, including taking a ferry and train between the towns. There was ample time to enjoy these towns...and even stick your feet in the water! Our guides were knowledgeable and fun to be with. They were precise in our schedule and meeting points, and gave good advice on how to spend the time in each city. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy.

65th Birthday Sunset Cruise

My first sunset cruise on my 65th birthday could not have been more perfect. The Italian coastline of Cinque Terre is an ideal spot to enjoy the beautiful sunset in one direction and the petits five villages on display as the mounted from their private coves up the hillside in pastel colors or yellow, pink and orange. It was hard to know where to look! My husband and I were retracing our steps of thirty years ago and some people say you can never go back without being disappointed with progress, etc. However, with some slight change ups in location and the perspective of the sunset cruise, we did it right. The key to the adventure was our host, Matteo. The Italian apéritifs were excellent with various veggies, spinach and cheese on focaccia along with the free-flowing wine, unlike some cruises that promise one glass. Matteo was the perfect Italian skipper to explain the lay of the land and of the sea. With his excellent English, he told us about the spectacular Ligurian wine and pointed out the vineyards cascading down the hillsides. He explained the amazing textured landscape, made up of turbidites, a mixture of sandstone and shale formed by underwater avalanches going back 30 million years. I have to say it made me feel a lot younger faced with this incredible march of time. As the boat cruised towards the shimmering sun, lowering slowly through clouds into the horizon, I thought 65 isn’t so bad after all.

Cinque Terre Delight

Our guide Lizabetta was amazing! Despite the group being 50ish people, she had us feeling connected and communicated in a manner that many other tour guides could benefit from observing. We were well informed throughout the entire day regarding toilettes, expected arrival, departure, location to meet etc. The bus was comfortable, air conditioned, and safe. The day is a long timeline. Suggest to bring water and essentials for comfort. You can leave items on the bus which would have been nice to know ahead of time. The only improvement to offer is that pulling into Pisa late in the day, did not allow us to see the basilica because it is a timed ticket. Viator/City Wonders should consider coordinating tickets (if permitted). The Pisa museums require entrance fee other than the basilica, so not being able to access the site was disappointing. Great experience and change of pace from city art and exploring to see the coastline and take in different scenery.

Premium Experience

This has been my favorite tour in Italy so far. The boat is beautiful and very comfortable. The captain was great and the guide/hostess was absolutely lovely. We were never empty handed…always a beverage and/or food provided. We had two opportunities to swim, and of course the best views of the five villages. Lots of opportunities for stunning pictures. It was a perfect day and I think it is well worth the price for a premium experience.

Pesto Esperienza Magnifico !!!!!!!

Beautiful setting, Jenny was vibrant, detailed in her explanation and demonstration. We cannot say enough about her!! Beautiful typical old Italian room with stone walls and lovely table settings. We had the most wonderful, aromatic basil plant each. Wine glasses, and we were ready to go!! I can go on and on but overall, Wonderful experience!!

Superb Visit to Cinque Terre with awesome tour guide!

Superb tour of this lovely slice of Italy visiting Manarola, Riomaggiore, and Monterosso by boat having been collected at La Spezia. Very well organized and orchestrated tour using public transportation to inclue the train from La Spezia to then be shown and described the unique characteristics of each town. Unhurried and able to enjoy at a well timed pace. Inclement weather near the end and tour guide remained engaged, helpful and responsive to ensure we made it back to La Spezia! A must do and great experience.

Visiting Cinque Terre was truly a wonderful experience. Besides all the lovely towns we got to visit we had the nicest and caring tour guide with Veronica. It became a private tour for the 4 of us since the other people canceled. She gave us options on what our preferences were on train versus ferry or both? My husband had some issues in walking a lot and it was hot. She always made sure we could find comfortable places in the shade to rest up. Veronica was also very knowledgeable on all the places we visited. I highly recommend Viator as a tour company and especially recommend Veronica to add to thexperience.

The perfect low stress getaway

We had a fantastic time, cruising with Mateo and Frederica. The communication was excellent, which really helped calm our nerves. The tour was great. We enjoyed the beverages, the nice snack they provided and a good commentary about the area. Taking two swims in the sea on a really hot day was the icing on the cake. I would highly highly highly recommend this excursion.

An unforgettable sunset cruise

Everything about this experience was great. The initial communication, the personalized email message, and the meet-and-greet were all excellent. The information shared by our captain (I'm terrible with names, but I'm pretty sure it was Franco) made the trip even more enjoyable. He even dropped us off in Monterosso, where we were staying, which saved us a train ride back. The drinks were flowing throughout the cruise, and although it was a small group of only eight people, everyone was friendly, having a great time, and enjoying getting to know one another. I highly recommend this company and this experience. In my opinion, if you don't do a sunset cruise, you miss so much of what makes this beautiful part of the world so special. Thanks to everyone involved—we had a blast and took some amazing photos that will last a lifetime!

Best Way to Spend the Evening in 5terre!

Incredible views you can only see from the water. It was a long tour, but no surprises and it was worth the money. The boat wasn’t overcrowded, there was a nice selection of beverages, and pro tip: when you get the option to go swimming in the gorgeous turquoise water… say yes!
