What are people saying about Bulgaria

The tour was...
The tour was well-organised and informative. There was plenty of time to explore the open parts of the monestary, although not quite enough time to see all the museums. We were unable to enter the Boyana church due to small capacity, but the tour guide offered an excellent description with historical context. We got a surprise extra stop at the Kambanite Park. The tour guide was really friendly and supported us throughout the trip.

Wonderful service from...
Wonderful service from Dimo who picked me up from my hotel and gave us some interesting details about Sofia and Bulgaria during our drive. Our guide in skopje was very good and took us to all of the sites in the city and gave us a lot of interesting history about the country. The drive didn't feel that long and it was very comfortable. I didn't know a lot about Macedonia before I went so this was a great introduction to the country.

We had a lovely trip with...
We had a lovely trip with Iva. The tour was punctual and the bus to Plovdiv was comfortable. There was a bakery near the starting location which made it easy to grab something to eat before the trip started. There was a bathroom break around 10 minutes before we reached Plovdiv. We had a nice guided tour in Plovdiv, where Iva explained the history behind each of the attractions. After the guided tour, we had some time to explore the city on our own and grab lunch. Iva also gave us restaurant recommendations. The return trip also started on time. All in all, it was a great tour and Iva was a lovely guide. Plovdiv is an amazing city with a lot of interesting historical attractions, which can easily be explored for a day or two. Can totally recommend this tour for people who only have limited time to explore the city.

Highly recommended
Very reliable agency! Skopje is a city of contrasts that surprises us from the very first walk. On one side are the monumental statues and neoclassical facades in the center, and on the other is the old charm of the Old Bazaar. The stone bridge connects these two worlds. After lunch, we visited the exceptionally beautiful Matka Canyon—a boat trip through the canyon reveals rocks, rich flora and caves.

Our tour guide, Barbara...
Our tour guide, Barbara was very friendly, thorough, and engaging with the entire group. Her knowledge and passion for ancient history made it very easy to follow along. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is looking to explore the wonders of Ostia Antica. Great job Barbara!

It was a great tour....
It was a great tour. Alexander took us safe and comfortable. Filled us with a lot of history. Definitely a reliable option to go. I booked a tour on booking.com and they cancelled it last minute and I quickly booked this one on Viator. Unfortunately we could not hike upto the Rila lakes due to the bad weather and the snow storm. Will come back again next year, May or September to do the tour again with this company.

The tour was good - we...
The tour was good - we got the audioguide one and it was interesting enough. We didn't enter Boyana as it was similar to other we've seen before, but the Rila Monastery was good. I just think 3h in there is too much. It is really small and nothing to do. 2h would be good enough.

Great day trip to Serbia
Our day trip to Nis, Serbia was a wonderful experience! The two-hour journey was comfortable, and our tour guide was extremely informative and helpful throughout the trip. We visited several fascinating sites, including the Mediana archaeological site, the historical Skull Tower, and the Nis Fortress. Each location offered a deep insight into the city’s rich history and culture. After exploring the landmarks, we enjoyed some free time in the city center, which was lively and full of great restaurants and souvenir shops. Overall, it was an educational and enjoyable trip—highly recommended for anyone visiting Serbia!

Ostia Antica wow! Ali knows it all!
Ali was outstanding and clearly loved Rome and its history. Ostia antica wow! She answered everyone’s questions ( and there were alot) and took us to an additional place when people requested. She also provided us with her favorite food places in Rome. Thank you Ali! Fully recommend Ali and tour!

We loved this trip!...
We loved this trip! Alexander was so informative and interesting to talk to. He is clearly very smart and enjoys sharing his passion for history.
Plovdid is such an interesting place! The two hour tour was a good overview but I need to come back and spend a week next time. Rila monastery was beautiful but an hour was plenty of time there. If you have limited time like we did, this was a great way to see two of the best bulgarian sights.

A Great, Unique, Unexpected Experience!
We had a wonderful day with our guide Theodore, he was knowledgeable, attentive and great to get along with. Even though there were some surprises he made it a very memorable experience. Due to road construction (no one’s fault!) we could not see the fortress or monastery, which although disappointing, was a hidden blessing, as instead we visited Koprivshtitsa. Theodore provided an insightful view into the history of Bulgaria, and walking around the streets was memorable - we were actually glad the normal tour itinerary did not work out so that we could have this unique experience! Also, the theatre in Plovdiv was not accessible due to preparation for a concert that evening (again, no one’s fault) but we were still able to view it from the perimeter and that was good enough. Plovdiv overall was amazing, we are so glad we went. The tour was a full 11 hours and worth it, we thoroughly enjoyed it and really appreciated having Theodore as our guide.

Great trip, good as a small group
Guide was very informative and friendly (Dmitr), made us feel welcome and safe. This trip was made even better by it being a small group, there were 8 of us, though the guide has said he's done it for just 1 and 3 before. All the stops were worthwhile but were mostly historical, so if that's what you like, this trip would be perfect. Mediana and the Skull Tower were very interesting. The concentration camp was a worthwhile stop as it was a small one but very emotional and informative of what we don't all know.
The guide was very flexible with the breaks for toilets, and gave us pretty much however long we wanted at each stop, good freedom and choice, particularly when we came to Niš, we all decided on 2 hours there.
Niš is definitely worth visiting, not too touristy and hardly any chains which was nice for a change. Plenty of shops, and restaurants and areas to walk, of which are all opposite the fortress. You wouldn't need more than 2 hours here.
If you're in Sofia, this trip would definitely be worth doing if you have a spare day.
