It was super fun, very good cardio. Loved learning about the differences in clothing depending where you are in Bulgaria. Was a good history lesson too, made my time in Sofia worth it. The dances are great and easy, will hopefully use these skills at Balkan weddings! Instructor was lovely! Wearing the clothes was also fun, made it easy to dance in.

Five friends & I were in Sofia, for 4 days and I booked this as a birthday treat for one of them. They were reluctant at first, but we all threw ourselves into it and had lots of fun. Our hostess was warm, welcoming and passionate about Bulgaria's folk dancing history. Dressing up in traditional costumes added to the fun and at the end of the hour we felt we could have stayed longer. Our hostess communicated directions to the venue and what was involved before we arrived. Viator had mentioned that you watch folk dancing, but she had let me know beforehand that this wasn't the case and we could cancel if we wanted to. So glad we didn't!! Go ahead and book it.

The friendly lady give us insight in 3 dances and the stories told via the songs we danced to. Due to the small group it was not the perfect experience, but it was fun to try on the clothes while dancing in them and getting a real feeling of the Bulgarian culture that still lives today. I recommend this initiation, because afterwards we were able to dance with the locals in one of the parks in Sofia, which was an experience I can recommend to everyone!

We attended the lesson as a small group of two people, but really enjoyed the experience! Throughout the hour, we learned four Bulgarian dancing steps, starting with the most useful at all events - Pravo Horo (Право Хоро). Then we moved to other common dances, pushing our comfort zone a bit and finding the limits of our leg speed. Finally, we finished with trying on traditional clothes, took some pictures, and videos to show family and friends. Overall an entertaining, most importantly useful lesson!

The teacher is super nice and passionate about the Bulgarian traditional culture. It was a great pleasure to chat with her and learned about the traditional dances. My boyfriend was super nervous before the class but he was happy about the experience afterwards!

We had a nice dance class. The teacher was very nice, explained a bit about Bulgarian culture and taught us different dances. We also got to dress up in the traditional clothes.
We were just a bit confused because originally in the description it said that we will watch a live folk dance performance and also get some snacks. However, both didn't happen. Nevertheless, we still had a good time and would recommend this experience if you want to wear the traditional clothes and learn a little bit of dance.

For us is important to know where did you make your booking (which platform you used), because there is a misunderstanding of explanation of our activity - we never describe it like "watching a live folk dance performance". It was a fun activity in Sofia. Desi our instructor is very friendly and very patience with us in teaching the dance lesson. The wine is very good. It was a good experience. This was such a fun class. There were only 3 of us. Myself and another couple. The instructor was fantastic and very likeable. He taught us 3 different stepS / dances. And gave us some nice history on where they came from and how related they are to the other Balkan countries. Highly reccomend taking this class when ur in bulgaria

We had a lot of fun learning 3 distinct bulgarian folklore dances! We started off slow, then it got quick fast! At the end we dressed up and the instructor took videos of us dancing which was awesome. However, in the description of the event it is stated that we will get some sort of bulgarian food to try and this did not happen.

Recommend if you are 2 + people for 1 h at 16:00 (they do it only on those hours but it’s definitely worth it)

I travelled to Sofia recently on a solo trip and whilst looking for things to do I came across this dance experience, and I thought why not! I’m so glad I did - Dessy was so welcoming and we had a very fun dance lesson together, she couldn’t have been more kind. Also do not worry if you are not a natural dancer, I am awful at dancing but this was really easy to follow and a lot of fun. I would recommend this for solo guests and also groups of friends if you want to do something a bit different whilst in Bulgaria. Thanks Dessy so much again for a great lesson and for all of your kindness!

The experience is not outside (as in the picture), but inside in a poor room.
This experience costs TOO MUCH. The correct price for it is 10 euro per person (20 euros is stealing). The only nice thing was to wear typical clothes, the dance lesson was quite basic and nothing special.
L'esperienza non si svolge fuori (come in foto), ma in una stanza semplice in un edificio malmesso. L'esperienza è troppo costosa, non vale la spesa. Il prezzo ideale sarebbe di max. 10 euro a testa. L'unica cosa divertente è stato indossare i vestiti tipici, per il resto, la lezione di ballo è abbastanza basic e nulla di ché. Si imparano i passi guardando anche un video su youtube

È stata un'esperienza bellissima. Dessy (l'istruttrice) è stata gentilissima.
Abbiamo provato 3 balli tipici bulgari e ci siamo vestiti con i loro abiti tradizionali.
