Really great historical perspective for Jews and non-Jews
Ben gave a very informative history of Jewish life in Budapest and the Doheny St. synagogue. He was articulate , easy to be with and informative. The small group imitation to 12 people maximum is a plus. Ben shared stories of his family illustrating the prrsonal impact of history.

Great guide and private tour
Julia was a very informative guide. She reached out to me after booking to find out our areas of interest. We covered a lot of ground and learned a great deal about the history of Buda and Pest side of the city. We were blessed with seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom. It was very nice having a private tour so we could ask questions and keep up a good pace to see and learn more.

Emma’s food and wine tour
Emma’s tour was amazing, giving us a real taste of Budapest’s delicious food history! We had such a treat trying traditional dishes like goulash, langos, chimney roll, and meat crepe, among others. We loved them all, and the best part was the palinka shot. It was great that she shared her own stories about these dishes, making the experience feel so personal. Overall, it was a wonderful experiencer.

Great tour with Victoria
Our guide Victoria was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about her country’s history, which made the whole experience even more engaging. I would highly recommend taking this tour with her if you want to gain a deeper appreciation for this beautiful country.

A great afternoon in the Jewish Quarter
Milan was an enthusiastic and engaging guide who was so interesting and fun to listen to. We learned a great deal about the local Jewish history and the different synagogues. The Great Synagogue was absolutely stunning and I highly recommend this trip.

Insider Perspective on Budapest
Anita was delightful. She was so knowledgeable and took us to unexpected places we would never have found if we toured on our own. She also gave us phenomenal recommendations for restaurants, public transportation, and other sites to visit during the rest of our stay in Budapest. Anita was relaxed and so hospitable. We are still eating leftover strudel from our tour.

Book this one!!
I was torn between other food tours vs this one and I am so glad I went with this one! The tour guide was so nice and personable. He gave us recommendations for other restaurants/bars around the city. The food was amazing and we definitely left full!!!

Highly recommend it
Had a great tour guided by the lovely Dora! She was super knowledgeable, and showed the main points in Budapest - sharing a lot of tips and context. After having the tour with Dora in the Pest side, I’ve joined the tour with Gary in the next day, in the Buda side. It was equally fun and interesting. It’s amazing visiting a city and getting insights from a local. Really recommend it! Thanks Dora and Gary!

Best decision of the day
Claudia was absolutely brilliant! Her tour was so fun, funny, and informative. She covered so much ground and told us all about history, politics, modern day goings-on, and general fun facts. I know how to read horse statues now! Who knew leg placement meant something! Honestly I majored in history and I learned more about Budapest in this 2 hour tour than I did in a 4 year degree 😅 (maybe that's on me but I think Claudia deserves endless credit for how much info she is able to pack into such a short time). Honestly can't recommend it enough. 💯/10 A++ would do again without a single hesitation

This is the best walking...
This is the best walking tour I’ve been on. It exceeded all of my expectations for a free tour. Klaudia was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny! She helped us break the ice with our tour buddies and encouraged us to ask any questions we had. She expertly answered all of our questions and truly gave us an appreciation for the depth and complex history of the region. I left feeling like I had befriended a local that truly wanted to show me the best parts of her city. My only regret is that I didn’t take some of the other tours offered by Luna Walking Tours.

This tour IS essential for first time visitors.
Zoli , our fabulous guide, was great! Animated, full of knowledge and also had all those little facts and antidotes we all love. As we visited Buda and Pest, expect a fair amount of walking and we also used the metro and bus. For info, over 65s can travel for free, you just need to carry ID, I had bought a 3 day pass
Like many, we book a tour to both learn and help us decide on where we want to visit afterwards. You’ll be spoilt for choice, Budapest has a fascinating history and surprisingly tough rules for drivers!
Thank you to Zoli for a great afternoon

Excellent way to see the city
Brilliant, knowledgable guide. Mix of historical and comical information. Great pace for all in the group. Would recommend doing this on day 1 of your trip to help find your bearings and define what you want to see more of. Brilliant value for money (2.50 each)
