Dan was an excellent guide and gave us some other food recommendations for our trip. I’m not a history guy at all but it felt like being in Boston I should get a bit of a history lesson. I love food so I decided to do a food tour to make the history lesson bearable. Dan kept the history interesting and the food delicious. Highly recommend this tour!

This was surely THE best way to explore Boston's Freedom Trail. You get an infomative narrative, loaded with history and facts about the places around you, piped directly into your ear, and at the pace that suits you best. Want to stop off for a coffee or a beer? The GPS knows that you've stopped, and the narrative picks up again when you're ready to go. It's the ultimte in flexibility, and you're not struggling to stay close to a real guide to hear what he or she is trying to explain. What's not to like! And it's also tremendous value for money. This was the second of two self-guided audio tours we've done, and we've been hugely impressed. We'll definitely look out for more in other places we plan to visit in the future. If you haven't tried them, I'd recommend Action Tours.

Its a tour that combines traditional seafood stops but with so much more historical and informative facts due to Nabil's love of the city, fishing Industry and people. Great tour during a layover in Boston.

I had a six hour layover in Boston and decided to take this walking tour to get a quick overview of the landmarks and history. So glad I did! Very informative and easy way to get the lay of the land, learn about the historical sites and their significance. Getting to the tour was really easy using the free silver line bus from the airport to South Station. I didn’t realize it at the time, that I could have taken the red line train to downtown. Instead, I walked the 10-15 minutes—but didn’t mind since the weather was nice and I was able to see other parts of the city.

This turned out being a private tour for us which was a bonus. Allen answered all of our questions and took his time . The Freedom Trail component was informative and thorough. It was nice to include Beacon Hill to see the homes and learn who lived there. Boston Common and Public Gardens were included as well. History of Back Bay was remarkable.

Excellent tour

Brian was a fantastic guide! He is a local and was even a guide at the Massachusetts State House before joining this company. I really enjoyed learning about the Freedom Trail and the history of the pubs we visited. The only thing I would have loved was more variety in the ciders, but that's more on the pubs than the tour.

Very enjoyable yummy tour!

We had the pleasure of taking the Boston Food & History Tour with Nabil, and it was such a wonderful experience! Nabil was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable about Boston’s history and food culture. We had a little trouble locating the starting point because the street sign had a different name than what appeared on my map. However, if you find the Registry of Motor Vehicles, you’re in the right place! We started at a very interesting bread company, where we got to try some delicious breads and learn about the history of this unique bakery and its bread-making traditions. From there, we stopped at a local grocery & deli, Salumeria, for a sandwich. We made our way to a pizza shop, Galleria Umberto, for a slice of cheese pizza. The pizza was delicious and had such a nostalgic, old-fashioned feel to it. The day we went was extremely hot, but Nabil was very thoughtful and made sure to bring us to shaded areas whenever possible, which we really appreciated. Our last stop was at a wonderful coffee house and pastry shop, Lavazza, where we enjoyed a cappuccino and a cannoli. Both were very good and were the perfect way to finish the tour. Along the way, we visited many historical sites and learned so much about Boston’s history. Nabil did a great job bringing everything to life while making the tour fun and enjoyable. Five hours may seem like a really long tour, the time flies & it does not seem too long. It is perfect! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great combination of delicious food, fascinating history, and a knowledgeable guide. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend Nabil and this tour!

I like the fact that the company has their tour guide represent a person in our colonial history and then, speak about the character's history. Elaina, a.k.a., Mother Goose, was early to greet the tour guests and readily showed enthusiasm for the job and tour. We valued the fact that Elaina was truly a Boston native and enjoyed listening to her personal story as it tied into the tour. The history that she provided at the various stops was not only informative but fascinating. Clearly, her experiences and former jobs in the theater arts lends itself well to being a tour guide that needs to present a lot of historical information and background to the tour guests. We had a great time on the Freedom Trail Pizza Tour! The three pizza slices were all delicious and offered a fun variety, and the tour itself was a perfect mix of Boston history and great food. Cozy and FUN Hot Cocoa Cruise

What a delight. The ambiance was perfect. Decorated with wreathes and garlands and light. A LOVELY jazz band played tasteful holiday tunes throughout the ride. The hot chocolate was DELICIOUS and unlimited! And they had a cool whipped cream dispenser for exceptionally yummy and fresh whipped cream. Coffee was also available for free, so we made a coffee-hot chocolate. So yummy. They also offer “spiked” hot chocolate from the bar. You can purchase special liquor combinations in fancy cups to then add to your hot chocolate as well. We got baileys and peppermint schnapps to add to ours which was also very good. Overall, it was a relaxing, cozy and fun boat cruise for this time of year. Here are some tips: 1)We went on the 3pm ride which I’d highly recommended. It’s an hour and a half and so we finished promptly at 4:30. The sun set at 4:22 so the lighting over the harbor was so perfect even with some haze in the sky. Plus once you exit, it’s perfect timing to head to your favorite spot for a dinner reservation. 2) Bring some small games! You’ll get an assigned table spot which I thought helped make it stress free. Our group brought small travel-sized versions of Bananagrams and Qwirkle to play on the ride. It was perfect! The games plus the music, hot chocolate, jazz music, and the peaceful ride in the harbor made such a perfect combination for a memorable afternoon.

The stories were fascinating, and just the right amount of spooky yet funny and interesting – a perfect mix of history and intrigue that kept everyone interested. Walking through the charming streets of Beacon Hill at night made it all feel so immersive and fun.Our guide Andrew was outstanding – knowledgeable and an incredible storyteller. What really stood out was how well the tour worked for our family group: we had our 12- and 14-year-old kids plus my 80-year-old in-laws, and everyone loved it equally.
