This was a great night, it is only a short experience, not a tour but a brilliant experience all the same. We had a wonderful host that wowed us with her knowledge and talent with wine and food. This consisted of some cheese and cured meats. It was not quantity here but quality, they were selected with 5 wines, 3 white and two red, all from the local area. The disappointing part was that there wasn’t enough people to witness how good this was. The wine were of high quality and we went through a journey which tested our senses, sight, taste and smell, we all gained knowledge of what made the wines so well balanced and structured. The other couple who came were equally pleased with the evening. All this took place in a private room at the back of the restaurant/bar so after we went into the bar and sat at a table, I ordered more wine accompanied with croquettes and a hummus dip that was so smooth and delicious. They had layered the top with various spices. It was a brilliant night and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

A wonderful insight into Rioja
The perfect introduction to the beautiful wine area of Rioja. The more traditional Marques de Riscal with an amazing premium hotel on site. The new pretenders of Javier San Pedro Otega, and the truly magnificent building that is Ysios.
A simple Basque lunch of more fabulous wine and pinxtos, and you have the most perfect day in warm sunshine.
I’m sure you’re all looking and thinking that this is expensive - just do it if you are a true lover of wine and you’ll not be disappointed!

Excellent Bilbao Food Tour Experience
Usoa, our most knowledgeable and friendly guide, conducted a delightful, interesting and “fulfilling” Basque-themed culinary tour through beautiful Bilbao. In the course of visiting several cafes for food and drink, we had a walking tour of the vibrant Bilbao city center and Old Town, while Usoa spoke of the local history, culture and language of Bilbao and the Basque people. This was a rewarding experience.
