Fun Tour!

Paula was a great tour guide. We really enjoyed Laguardia and the beautiful scenery. We found a reasonable lunch at a nice little restaurant touted as Irish, but not exclusively Irish food. The wine tasting was for two different red wines and did not include any food whatsoever, not even small crackers, which made the wine tasting a bit harder as it can be helpful to pair red wine with a savory item. We paid 2.50 euro for a third tasting. There was no free time at our second stop, Vitoria-Gasreiz, but our tour guide gave us a walking tour. Bring your own bottle of water and comfortable shoes for comfort.

We had a wonderful day with tour guide Borja! We visited Laguardia, a beautiful little town inthe heart of Basque country and the Basque capital Victoria-Gasteix. The tour included a short stop at a Winery. Borja was very knowledgeable and passionate about Basque/Spanish history and culture

This an absolutely wonderful day. Our guides were so knowledgeable about the region, especially about the history and basque culture. It was so great to learn about the wine but Paola shared lots of additional information that gave us a much better understanding of the wine country’s history—absolutely invaluable! The drive was scenic, informative, and well laid out with rest moments too.

Josu was a good knowledgeable guide. I found the mix of Spanish and English hard but understood the need to use both and he did well. The trip seems badly timed though as there was a lot of free time in LaGuardia and then Vitoria was really rushed and there was so much more to see. It would be better to do the trip in reverse. But a good day out and good value .

Excellent day trip from Bilbao! Josu was an amazing guide, knowledgeable and funny! We visited Laguardia, went to a wine cellar and had a presentation and a tasting afterwards. We also had free time which was good as we could have proper lunch. Headed afterwards to Vitoria, had a quick tour of the city before heading back to Bilbao. I would have liked maybe more time in Vitoria, at least an hour of free time would have been great. But it’s true that it was almost 7pm when we got back to Bilbao, so I don’t know where we could squeeze 1 more hour. All in all, it was a great choice and we felt lucky to have Josu as our guide. :)

The drive through Rioja country was good but we didn't see any of the special architecture even from a distance. LaGuardia was lovely and enjoyable. The winery experience was not. We didn't get the third glass of wine which was humiliating - because of your meanness - and the presentation wasn't very professional.

During the panoramic part through Rioja wine region you are able to see some interesting buildings on the way like Marques de Riscal hotel and winery or Baigorri winery etc...... In all the wineries in Rioja you can have a lot of different options of tastings and in this ones you had 2 wines included in the visit which is the usual amount of wines included. We are sorry that you felt humiliated, that was not our purpose but it is something quite common to have different options of tastings and everyone in rioja is used to it. This winery is a local family business with quality wines and an interesting cave under the village, quite charming, we are sorry that you did not enjoy it. This winery is a family bussines, quite authentic and something quite the opposite to the big famous industrial wineries that are more common in the region. We take note of your comments in order to keep improving. thanks a lot.

Hi Felix, We are really sorry that the content of the explanations were not of your liking and that the historical part was boring for you. The tour explains the history of the region, we visit Vitoria which is the capital city of Euskadi, Laguardia, etc so it is a combination of several different cultural and historical locations. Related to the specific wine explanations, they were provided during the guided visit and tasting to the winery that you visited including the traditional process of elaboration. Moreover, the guide is always eager to explain more details in case you want to ask specific questions. Maybe this was not the right tour for your family since there are other options in private more specialized just into wine and wineries for wine lovers or specialists. Regarding the price of 70€ per person and 35€ for both of your children, it is quite an economic price if you compare it with all the other possible regular tours that you have from Bilbao to Rioja. And our tour includes as well a tasting of gourmet chocolates, wine tastings into traditional winery caves etc apart from the expert guide & quality bus transport. We hope at least that you enjoyed the locations, the charming streets of Laguardia, the traditional fine Rioja cuisine etc Our goal is that our clients have a nice time, learn and discover some charming corners of your land and we really get sorry when this does not happen. Nice tour, but guide’s English not so good.

Very comfortable bus trip. Winery tour was excellent. We visited two beautiful towns. However, the tour guide’s English was not too good and his accent was very thick so he was difficult to understand. Also the tour was in both Spanish and English so he was constantly switching back and forth. I understand some Spanish so I could sort of follow along but my spouse was not so lucky. He was very kind so I hate to say anything bad, but I feel I need to be completely honest.

Bus, Guide und Fahrer waren fantastisch. Einen Punkt Abzug geben wir, da es leider kein Wasser gab, das wäre an so einem heissen Tag (über 40 Grad) wünschenswert gewesen, ansonsten alles super und eine klare Empfehlung!
