We had an incredible day touring San Sebastián and Getaria with Asier. This was easily the best guided tour we’ve ever taken. Although it was scheduled as a small group tour, it ended up being just the two of us, likely because the morning started out rainy. That made the experience even more personal. We’re in our 50s and had already spent weeks walking all over Spain, so we really appreciated traveling comfortably by van with only short walks at each stop. Asier was outstanding. His knowledge of Basque history, culture, traditions, and everyday life was amazing, and he happily answered every question we had. His English is nearly perfect, he’s incredibly well traveled, and he’s the kind of guide who makes every stop more meaningful. Even with the rain, he adjusted the day so everything worked out perfectly, and by the afternoon the sun was shining. He also took us to an excellent restaurant where he ordered a wonderful variety of pintxos for us to try, showed us a fantastic souvenir shop, and even taught us how to play jai alai. If you’re visiting the Basque Country, don’t hesitate to book this tour, and if you have the chance to tour with Asier, take it. He is knowledgeable, personable, flexible, and truly passionate about sharing his beautiful region. We couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Great tour to hike Gaztelugatxe and visit Port Bermeo. Irene was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the Basque Country history and culture. She kept our kids entertained and was easy to talk with. She is probably the best tour guide we have ever had!

Lovely mix of dramatic coastline, pretty seaside towns, and deeply moving history. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is amazing (even if you haven't seen GoT!). It's worth the walk! The coastal towns were very charming and relaxing. Visiting Guernica was unexpectedly moving, and the Tree is very special. We're so glad that we got to see such a wonderful part of the world. Jose is an excellent guide, we took two tours with him and both were fantastic. We can't recommend him highly enough!

This private tour was everything it was advertised to be. Zack picked us up right at our hotel in a beautiful luxury sedan and drove us from Bilbao to a morning walking Tour of San Sebastian. We saw the beaches, the kayak surfers, the bay, the marina, the fresh market. All before it became too crowded. Then we set out for the fishing town of Getaria for some walking and touring before he brought us to a waterside outdoor restaurant for grilled fish, which we simply loved!! You can practically watch the chef cook your fish at the outdoor grill situated just at the front of the restaurant. After lunch we were brought to a geological park along the Atlantic coast that shows rock formations that are millions of years old. This region was featured in the last season of the Game of Thrones saga. In summary, this was a private tour and was exactly what we wanted. No large groups with a guide wearing a headset and you listening to their distorted voice coming thru cheap earbuds; the flexibility to stop for a restroom whenever we needed it; the luxury to have a wonderful and relaxing outdoor lunch and to be able to text Zack whenever we were ready to be picked up; and to have his ear when we had questions, not having to share him with many other tourists and not having to fear monopolizing his time when others also want some attention. If this is the type of experience you are seeking, look no further than this tour option!!

This was our second tour with Stefan. He has a deep and broad knowledge that brings not only the places to life but the journey in between (and a quirky sense of humour to boot!). Loyolla is fascinating, if compact, being the beginnings of the Jesuit order. Getaria is a nice break in the journey to San Sebastian. San Sebastian is incredible and probably deserves at least a whole day to itself, if not a stay in its own right.

It was the absolutely great trip! Weather was particularly nasty, poring rain and wind. I was 5 minutes late , which it highly unusual for me, BUT ... I had the most wonderful( and forgiving) travel team and the most important -the great, great guide/driver Stefan! He was very knowledgeable, great driving skills, great story teller and just a fantastic guide. Trip was very enjoyable, informative and just a lot of fun. I would highly recommend Stefan as a tourguide, he is a great person and a very good guide. Thank you for such enojable time in Bilbao!!!
