Fantastic Addis Ababa Day Tour
Our Addis Ababa Tour with Teddy was the absolute highlight of our travels. It didn't feel like a standard sightseeing excursion; rather, it was a deeply personal journey through Addis that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. What made this experience so magical was our incredible guide, Teddy. His deep love for the local culture, history, and people truly shone through. Not only was he profoundly knowledgeable, but their warmth and flexibility made us feel like we were exploring the city alongside a lifelong friend. We were able to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see.
He took us to the Marcado on my request which was exciting. A bustling market with vendors of all kinds. He was able to negotiate fair prices for the items we purchased. We also visited the Tomoca Coffee House where we learned the history of Ethiopian Coffee making . We also visited the National Museum of Ethiopia to visit the archeological exhibits including the old fossil of Lucy. Teddy has such a wealth of knowledge around what we were seeing and visiting at the museum. It truly made the experience memorable and informative. We also visited the top of Mount Entoto for beautiful views of the entire city surrounded by eucalyptus trees.
For background I was traveling with my 82 year old father and Teddy was extremely attentive to his needs. Whether it was making sure he was safe, helping him cross the street, negotiating fair prices etc. I am truly impressed by his duty of care.
We had a fantastic lunch at a very nice restaurant and enjoyed the extra time with our guide.
Places visited:

Flexible tour during layover at Addis Ababa Airport
I had a great time. I had a 10 hour layover at Addis Ababa airport. After getting my free transit hotel from Ethiopian Airlines (which is a fantastic deal), I took the shuttle to the hotel, checked in, and grabbed a quick breakfast. Then Joe, my tour guide met me at the hotel. I revised the itinerary a bit since I’ve been to Addis before. That was very nice option with tour. Spent 5 hours seeing some sites in Addis, getting an authentic Ethiopian meal, and bought some Ethiopian coffee for friends. Then I still had some time to nap before taking the hotel shuttle back to the airport for my next flight. Joe was a wonderful tour guide. Very accommodating. I highly recommend the tour for anyone having 4-6 hours free in Addis Ababa.

A day at Addis Abeba
Addis Abeba is an amazing city and I couldn’t have a better tour guide as Desale and Kulen as a great driver. Desale was very knowledgeable and explained me a lot about the history and the culture of Ethiopia. He ensured that I enjoyed every moment and ensured that I didn’t missed all the important sights. He is very professional and was very flexible to adjust the program to my needs. I was astonished on his presentation & explanation at the museum and in all other places we visited

Fantastic tour of Debre...
Fantastic tour of Debre Libanos. Our tour guide Geru was wonderful and made sure everyone was having a good time and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend to take this tour to see the countryside of Ethiopia, the gelada monkeys, Debre Libanos, and the blue Nile gorge. Very enjoyable.

Excellent Full Day Introduction to Addis Ababa
We had an excellent full day tour of Addis Ababa with Teshome. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and engaging from start to finish. He explained the history, culture, and architecture in a way that was easy to understand but still very thorough and insightful.
The tour was well organized and efficient, and the hotel pickup and drop off made the day completely seamless. We covered the major highlights without ever feeling rushed. Teshome answered every question thoughtfully and added context that made each stop more meaningful.
If you’re looking for a comprehensive and well run introduction to Addis Ababa, this tour is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend, especially with Teshome as your guide.

Great guides, great trip
This was such a lovely trip! Abe and George were so fun to travel with. Super informative, knowledgeable, interesting, kind and helpful. And the trip itself was incredible to Debre Libanos, through amazing countryside, seeing Gelada monkeys and having lunch in one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been. Would strongly recommend the trip, and would go anywhere with Abe and George!

Addis+ tour
Biruk, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and really provided good options to see in the time constraint that we had. The driver was also extremely good. They picked us up from where I was staying, which was not a conventional hotel, without any problem. We went to the National Museum, Mt Entoto where we saw a great view of the city and had a traditional coffee ceremony with food. We drove by the market and went to Holy Trinity Cathedral. It was the Muskel celebration day, so he also gave us perspective there-was a great experience before having to fly out that night.

Interesting sight seeing
Joseph was a fine guide with knowledge about his country. He was a gentle guide from the pickup at the airport until the drop off at the hotel. The city tour is a must if ever someone is visiting Eddis .The palace, the national museum and the view of the city from the mountain plus major roads that shows how this city is .I recommend this excursion.

Do your research...
My husband and I were unable to do this tour. I'm giving a 5 star review because it is in no way the fault of the tour operator. The city looked very interesting from the airplane window, so we were super disappointed that we weren't able to explore it. I'm leaving a review as a heads up to others who want to explore Addis Ababa. Customs WILL NOT let you take binoculars out of the airport. Zoom lenses on cameras are ok though. Go figure! There is an option to store valuables at the airport, but it was a complicated process and we were not comfortable with it. (I would need to lock my binoculars in a storage cage then use a different exit separate from my husband. We envisioned not being able to find one another on the other side!) Our plane was a bit late and by the time we sorted through the issue, we were 2 hours late for the tour anyway. I had connectivity issues with my phone so I was not able to contact the tour operator to let them know not to expect us, and it was another reason why I didn't want to separate from my husband. The worst part was not being able to get back to the departures area and through security until 3 hours before our flight, so we sat around baggage claim for 5 hours. When it was time, we had to be escorted by customs to the departures area since I had binoculars in my carry on. We are seasoned travelers and I'm usually very good at researching foreign country requirements but never came across any info from customs about binoculars. Also, heads up that if you are a US citizen, be sure to get a tourist visa to exit the airport. There is a "visa on arrival" counter, or you can purchase one on-line in advance. In general, bring your patience and be prepared for a chaotic **** show at the airport.
