This trip was a fantastic experience! I booked this for my partner on his birthday and am so happy that I did. The day turned out lovely for it. Our instructor Joe was very informative and with me being absolutely afraid of heights guided me through with ease ! I would recommend this trip for anyone! Novice to professional as you are taught everything you need to know.

We did the paddleboarding tour across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and it was without doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Wales.
Our guide, Jason, was fantastic. His introduction was clear, professional and very thorough, making sure we understood all the important safety points – but at the same time he was wonderfully relaxed and humorous, which immediately made everyone feel comfortable.
And then the tour itself: simply incredible! Paddling across the aqueduct, high above the valley, is an experience that is difficult to put into words. The views, the atmosphere and the sheer uniqueness of crossing this amazing structure on a paddleboard made it truly unforgettable.
We enjoyed every minute of it and would absolutely do it again. A fantastic experience, a great guide and something we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

What a fun experience. Larry our guide was thorough with safety protocols and equipment assisting those who had never paddled before. The leisurely paddle down the canal, admiring the beautiful scenery and other boats was lovely. Once we hit the entrance to the aqueduct we slowly paddled across it having time to take lots of pictures and to enjoy the moment. While we were waiting our groups turn to cross the canal Larry had great suggestions where to eat and great pubs in the area. He always made us feel comfortable in and out of the canoes. Would definitely recommend Bearded adventures to anyone.
Was a bit reluctant about doing this experience solo, but Joe from the Bearded Men made it ever so easy and enjoyable. Even with his yapping. Loved the information he gave. The instructor was thorough in explaining how to paddle effectively and safely without falling into the canal.

Back at starting location by 7pm.
Our guide Carl was upbeat and full of enthusiasm, he explained how to control the canoes very well and kept us all safe and under his instruction throughout.

We had the best morning with Harry and BMA! He was so patient with everyone and had a great sense of humor. The view over the aqueduct and the experience of going over it was fantastic, but the journey there and back is every bit as enjoyable. Even though the canal is pretty narrow in spots and there are plenty of boats and other canoes going up and down, it never felt scary or intimidating. Absolutely recommend for a fun family memory!

Looks good as I saw lots of other people doing the activity but we arrived and Viator had sent us incorrect arrival location and had miss-booked us. We had 122 mile round trip for nothing. My advice is do not trust Viator and call the provider directly to confirm your booking. I had repeated confirmation emails including on the morning of my trip that were completely false! Horrid experience.

We were given an outdated meeting point from the booking site, meaning we missed the activity. The provider confirmed the details were wrong but we’ve been stuck in refund ping-pong, and it’s now been rejected. Very disappointing for what was meant to be a special occasion.

Relaxing trip doable for everyone who dates to step in a canoe. Even with little fear of heights you will have no problems.

Beautiful trip along the canal and great views going over the aquaduct, even had a little stop to head down to the river. Ella our guide was very informative and helpful, especially for jump starting our car afterwards for us. Thank you to the whole team for helping us get home!

This was a really fun day out, the sun was shining, there were lots of baby ducks on the canal, and generally a lovely atmosphere. Our guide Harry was great for keeping up the banter and we overall had a great time.

We booked through Viator ,the start point of the activity given to us was incorrect which therefore meant we were unable to take part as it was a timed activity .When speaking to the provider they explained that they had notified Viator of a change in starting point. I have raised this as an issue with Viator who have yet to let me know the outcome . In hind sight I should have booked directly with the provider ,it would have been cheaper and we’d have been able to take part in our planned for activity . You live and learn !

Fantastic trip from start to finish. Met our guide Harry near the canal and he organised everything, getting the canoes in the water and giving a full safety brief. Then a quick lesson on paddling before a chance to practice in the water before setting off. He helped us get in safely and managed not to fall in! It was a small group, just me and my partner and 2 other plus Harry. He stopped off at points to tell us about the canal, aquaduct etc and after going over it and back we had some free time at the aquaduct where we went under to see it from the land and the visitors centre with time for a toilet break before heading back. Absolutely loved every minute of it and canoeing over the aquaduct was an amazing experience. Would completely recommend to all and definitely recommend Bearded Men Adventures. A huge thank you to Harry for a perfect afternoon canoeing!

Mike was our guide. We had a fantastic time. Mike was just brilliant. Personally I’d never done anything like this before. He was a brilliant tutor and we had a great time
