Roberto, our guide, was funny and friendly, knowledgeable, and articulate. The best thing was how he encouraged us to get to know each other. I met wonderful people from many different places. The food , the drinks, and the conversation was great, and so was the history.

Easy walking. Pleasant harbour taxi ride. 2 stops for snacks and local drinks. The guide was knowledgeable and very friendly

It sounds like a successful afternoon in Victoria! We put a lot of thought into those snack stops and the water taxi route, so I’m glad you enjoyed the flow of the tour. Thanks for the kind words about our guide!

Value for Money Tour

Vanessa_O, Oct 2025
Book this tour - you will be glad you did. We had a wonderful tour guide - Fish. He went above and beyond, so knowledgeful, kind, funny and interesting. We thought the tour was also great value for money. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Victoria. Do it on your first day (unlike us!) and you will get lots of useful tips for other great things to do in Victoria.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It’s good to hear the tour felt like money well spent. Fish definitely puts a lot of energy into making the history interesting and funny, so I'll let him know you appreciated the effort.

Perfect tour!

It was nice and cover enough area as expected. Our guide "Fish" was very friendly and carering. The water taxi was a new experience.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Fish definitely knows how to make a group feel welcome. It’s a solid way to spend an afternoon, and I’m happy the water taxi was a fun new experience for you!

Perfect to experience food and history!

Roberto was a great tour guide! Very engaging and dynamic in his delivery of history facts and local culture. He was very thoughtful to capture some great photos of us. We had some delicious bites and also walked away with recommendations on what to do after.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Roberto is a natural behind the camera, so it’s great he caught some good shots for you. It sounds like his energy and those extra local tips really rounded out the afternoon.

Great Tour in Victoria!

Trina_C, Sep 2025
We loved walking around Victoria. It was beautiful and our guide, Rebecca, was knowledgeable, conversational, and very nice. The choices for drinks and snacks were spot on. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

The city really shows off on a walk like this, so I'm glad Rebecca could add some solid local history to the scenery. Good to hear the food and drink choices worked out for you.

Tour adds meaning and character to an already wonderful City.

Stephen_S, Sep 2025
Extremely informative and energetic tour with quick bites and drinks along with meaningful stories at every stop. Fish, our tour guide, was one of, if not the best guide we have ever had. Very proud of his city which added to his enthusiasm and passion.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Meaningful stories are exactly what we aim for at every stop. Fish is a pro at connecting the city's past with its current food and drink scene, so it's good to hear he lived up to the 'best guide' tag.

So fun!

Christina_K, Sep 2025
Roberto, our guide, was funny and friendly, knowledgeable, and articulate. The best thing was how he encouraged us to get to know each other. I met wonderful people from many different places. The food , the drinks, and the conversation was great, and so was the history.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

The social side of this tour is just as important as the history. Roberto definitely knows how to get the conversation moving between stops, so I'm glad you walked away with some good stories and new connections.

Excellent Tour

Laura_C, Sep 2025
Gary was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and very personable. We certainly learned that Victoria has a very interesting history. This tour offers a lot and is very good value. The food and drinks were great. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience Victoria.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Gary definitely knows his stuff when it comes to the city's backstory. Since we built this route to offer a bit of everything, it’s a win that the food, drinks, and Gary's personality hit the mark for you.

Delights in Victoria's 'Bites and Sights' Tour

maxlovestosing, Sep 2025
This was not our first time in Victoria and we wanted something a bit different. Our guide, Gary, met us at The Empress entrance as promised. He started with informative tidbits on the magnificent Empress Hotel, leading to a full agenda of stops and fascinating bits of history and interesting info about fabulous Victoria! Our group had 9 tourists, varied ages, relationships and nationalities. We also had various walking abilities; and Gary handled it flawlessly, never leaving anyone behind, yet keeping the faster walkers engaged in conversation, yet never leaving the slower out of the informative loop. Started with a short ferry boat ride around the Inner Harbour, to our next starting point, learning about the Capital and other buildings and their history and architecture around the waterfront, and visited many sites such as Chinatown, Bastion Square, Market Square, and a few local establishments for local "sips" and "bites" including a delicious treat from Rogers Chocolates. Our guide was full of knowledge, history, stories, amazing facts and info on Victoria's history, both about the city, its relation to Canada's history, and it's local stories and characters. It was a glorious day and we had several hours of a very enjoyable, informative tour. We had no idea how much we had missed on our prior visits, and had such an enjoyable day with our delightful, knowledgeable guide and the other lovely tourists in our group.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like a classic Victoria day, and I'm happy Gary was able to bridge the gap between the big architecture and the local character stories for you. We try to make sure every tour feels unique even if you've been here before, so hearing that the pace worked for everyone from the front to the back of the group is the best feedback we could get.

Fun, informative and tasty tour !

Chris_S, Sep 2025
Our guide, Julie, was very knowledgeable about Victoria's history. Information, anecdotes and a few jokes made for a worthwhile excursion. A bit more time for photos would have been nice. All in all we enjoyed the tour and would reccomend it to others. Two and a half hours went quickly ...easy walking surfaces. The ' bites ' were tasty and adequate ... loved the beer stop on such a hot day.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

That beer stop is a lifesaver on the hotter days, so I’m glad you enjoyed that part of the route. Julie is a wealth of information, but your point about having a bit more time for photos is well-taken. We want to make sure everyone gets the shots they want without feeling like they’re rushing to the next bite, thanks for that feedback.

Excellent tour

Geoff_L, Sep 2025
Excellent tour which lasted almost 3 hours. There were two beer and bites stops and one candy stop. Gary's knowledge of the city and it's history made the multiple historical stops quite informative. Overall an excellent experience.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Gary really knows how to pack a tour with information without losing the fun side of things. I'm glad the extra stops for beer and snacks kept the energy up while you were diving into all those historical spots. Thanks for the feedback!

Shafts in the afternoon

Sheryn_O, Sep 2025
We always like to begin a trip with a Foodie tour to get oriented in a new city. Rebecca was a great source of information and perfectly accessible. Booking this tour was easy and the price was right. Seriously, though - Poutine? We’re in Victoria, not Calgary.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like Rebecca did a solid job getting you oriented, but your point about the Poutine is well-taken. We want the food to feel as local as the history, so choosing a dish more tied to the prairies than the Island is a fair critique. Thanks for the honest heads-up on the menu choice.

Beautiful Victoria!

MaryPageau, Sep 2025
Beautiful Victoria! Michael was up on all Victoria's history. Really interesting. Wish we had a few more bites to sample, possibly in China Town.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like Michael’s deep dive into the history made for a beautiful day in the city. Your point about adding more bites in Chinatown is a good one; we’re always looking for ways to balance the storytelling with the food, so I appreciate the feedback on where you wanted to see more.

Great tour of Victoria ! Highly recommend!

Leanne_M, Sep 2025
This tour was fun and informative ! Our tour guide, Gary, was personable and knowledgeable and we tasted great local food & drink

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It’s always a win when our guests walk away feeling like they actually learned something while having a good time. Gary takes a lot of pride in his deep-dives into Victoria's backstory, so I’m happy his personality made the afternoon stand out for you.

A great walking tour of Victoria, including Chinatown and a “pickle boat” ride. Wonderful historical info from very knowledgeable Guide, Greg. Stopped off for nibbles and sips unique to Victoria. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you don’t have long to visit this beautiful island.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Glad Greg could show you the best of Victoria! That ferry ride and the Chinatown stops are some of our favorites too. Thanks for the high praise; we love helping people make the most of their time here.

John_M, Aug 2025
We participated in the tour on 8/21/25 as a group of 4. Our entire group was 9. Our guide was Michael. He was on time considerate and very mindful of the group. The tour was just as described including the small bites and sample drinks. The walk was easy and so was the pace. Michael was very knowledgeable of the city and its history. He eagerly answered all of our questions as well as those posed by the group. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk/tour as it was our first visit to Victoria and it allowed us to see downtown and familiarize ourselves.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like Michael was the perfect introduction to Victoria for your group. I’m glad his pace and the "small bites" matched exactly what you were expecting for your first visit—there’s no better way to get your bearings in a new city than a walk like that. I’ll be sure to let him know he nailed the Q&A!

Beautiful city with an incredible history and the BEST guide

Patricia_B, Aug 2025
Our guide Julie was AMAZING!!!! So friendly and passionate about the history of Victoria! Every story she shared with such enthusiasm. She knew so much and was so excited about sharing with us! And she LOVES the real Poutine at Garricks!! I could have listened to her for hours and hours. She made this so fun and memorable! The bites and beverages were so good, too!! Well chosen!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

I'm so glad Julie made your time in Victoria so fun. Her enthusiasm for the city (and the Poutine!) is exactly what we love to see, and it’s awesome that the food and drinks felt well-chosen to you. Thanks for such a high-energy review—I’ll make sure she sees this!

Short but fun tour!

Barbara_P, Aug 2025
So much fun! It was a simple tour, but Fish was both entertaining and informative. You have a real gem in that tour guide. As someone traveling alone, this was a great way to learn more about Victoria.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Fish is the perfect guide for solo travelers because he’s so naturally engaging and easy to talk to. It’s great to hear that his mix of entertainment and info helped you get a better feel for Victoria while you're out exploring on your own.

Walking for of Victoria with snacks.

Michael_M, Aug 2025
Excellent overview of the harbor area of Victoria BC. Michael was very knowledgeable, patient and numerous. He was also considerate of my slow pace.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It’s important to us that our tours feel relaxed, so I’m happy to hear Michael took such good care of you. Glad you enjoyed his stories and his "numerous" jokes along the way.

An Excursion Not to Miss!

Chris_H, Aug 2025
Request Gary! Professional, friendly, approachable and he definitely knows the history of Victoria. We recommend this excursion to anyone coming to Victoria - learn a very interesting history and get to know the lay of the land as well.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like Gary was the perfect guide for your visit. He takes a lot of pride in being both friendly and informative, so I’m happy to hear he made the history of Victoria so interesting for you!

Our walking tour guide...

Patricia_I, Aug 2025
Our walking tour guide was very knowledgable about Victoria and its history. She showed us a very customized tour which included Victoria's China Town complete with a fascinating historical overview, The Empress Hotel, Canadian Parliament, and several pubs and cafés. We were looking for some live music to hear that evening, and she recommended and took us to several establishments that had live musical entertainment in the evening. We tasted a drink called "Shaft", which was weirdly delicious. We sampled what we were told was the best Poutine she had ever tasted. (We're not a big fan of Poutine, but it was interesting, none the less). We traveled to China Town from Parliament in a water taxi, viewed the harbor from the water, and learned about their fabulous drawbridge and much of Victoria's history. All in all, it was a very comprehensive and enjoyable walking tour, well worth the money. [Full disclosure: this was supposed to be a group tour, but we were the only people to show up, so it was a particularly private and customized tour curated for our particular interests. It was fantastic!].

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like you hit the jackpot with an accidental private tour! I’m glad your guide was able to pivot and customize the route to include everything from the Parliament to those live music recommendations. It’s great that the "Shaft" and the harbor taxi ride made the experience feel so comprehensive and well worth it.

Fun and Informative Tour

Caroline_B, Jul 2025
We really enjoyed our tour. We learned a bit of the history of Victoria, tasted some small bites as well as two nice beverages. It was nice to do this tour on our first afternoon in Victoria to get a feel for the city. Roberto was a fantastic guide; entertaining and informative!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Roberto loves being the first point of contact for people visiting the city, so I’m happy he made your first afternoon so informative. Glad you enjoyed the "bites and beverages" while getting a feel for the local vibe!

Very informative and delicious!

Christine_T, Jul 2025
Roberto was a wonderful guide. We have been to Victoria numerous times and we learned so much about the city that we did not know. The bites and sips are great, the perfect amount of each.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It is the ultimate compliment when a Victoria regular learns something new! Roberto loves digging up those hidden stories that even locals might miss, so I’m thrilled he could surprise you.

Gary_N, Jul 2025
We did the tour the first day to get a layout of the town and then went back to see sites longer and restaurants and shops on the tour

Response from Host, Apr 2026

That’s the perfect way to do it — a little preview, then back for the favourites. Glad it worked out so well!

Don’t miss this tour. Great fun and informative

We thoroughly enjoyed our Bites and Sites tour of Victoria, B.C. So much so that my husband and I are already making plans to return to your beautiful city!
