Unfortunately there was no guide available for the tour. However, I did receive my tickets and was able to see the parlance, gardens, and hamlet. Mini train was a great way to get around.

The travel guide never showed up. We were waiting in freezing weather with children and they never showed. No one answered the live chat, no one answered the phone. We had to get entry tickets from information desk, but didn't have access until hours later. I paid lots of money to get nothing at all. Very unsatisfied.

The tour was great! We got lots of stories about the families and the country. Saw lots of rooms in the chateau, hit the gardens, and walked around the property at the Trianon. Highly recommend!! Myriam was enthusiastic and a joy to spend the day with!

totally a waste, the guide is poor in English, I can only understand 30% what she says and the rest I have to guess. Both my husband and I pay almost 900 Euro for this and expect and informative one but totally disappointed. On the other hand, my friends go as a group with 20 people and the guide is so good in English and the tour is so informative. Each person only pays 200 Euro including transportation. I will never do this again.

They didn’t tell us that they are canceling our tour because of the Olympic ceremony. I had to email them and ask if they are showing up in Versaille coz we’re already in Versaille. Lina emailed asked and said they are not coming and if they can do the tour the next day. I told her to call me she didn’t call me. So unprofessional!

Our tour guide was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable . Our driver and guide picked us up and drove us to the Versailles gardens. The tour gyuide Ms. Mariam was wonderful. I would take any tour with her.

The company cancelled the tour the evening before we were supposed to go. At that late date most of the other tours were filled for the next day and that was our last day in Paris. If they are so unreliable, why would I ever book another tour with them?! I was very angry.

We booked a german Tour and Last Minute we got the Info that it is in englisch - i did Not have the feeling Viator care about us and do ecerything to find another german Guide but do the rasiest way - eben very less Communication from Viator - and the tour was not cheap!!! Disappointing the way Viator react
The Guide Inself was great but regarding the Language issues it was not Perfect for the group

Myriam was an excellent tour guide and we had an amazing time! She showed my wife and I around Versailles as well as the Petite Trianon. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and was able to explain a lot of the history behind Versailles. The Chateau itself is spectacular, but the guided tour definitely elevated the experience. Myriam also gave us some excellent tips for other things to do around Paris and made sure we had a great time. I would highly recommend it.

Myriam is an absolute legend. The tour was educational, fast paced, and FUN! We really went there to learn about the history and lore of the French monarchy so this tour was a great choice for us.

Our guide, Dimitri , was very well informed about French History, Greek Mythology and architecture. He was a great teacher. His knowledge brought good meaning to the context of what we were seeing. He stopped us several times and took some great photos of us. He was friendly and conscientious of our time and how we were feeling. The tour was 5 hours and well worth the time and cost to have such a very private tour.

This trip is an absolute ripoff and should be avoided. There is no guided tour of the palace; the guide waits outside, and the guide did not even know which line to use, which wasted 30mins of valuable time while the crowds built up. The transport to Marie Antionette's house was a small train which you had to line up and purchase your own ticket. the tour advertises transport but this is a lie. This was a total waste of time and money, and a total misrepresentation. Viator should be ashamed of their screening and should refund monies immediately.

We had an amazing experience at Versailles thanks to Habib. There was some confusion in the beginning of our tour. I’m only guessing but I think our original guide that was assigned to us called out sick and they reassigned us with Habib. We started a 1/2 later than expected but all was well. He gave us an amazing tour. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was the highlight of our trip.

If you think you will be getting a lot more on a personalized, private tour, I am begging you to hold on to your wallet because there is ZERO return on this investment. Just take the larger group tour! That way, if it doesn't meet your expectations, at lease you are not out hundreds (or in our case, over one thousand) dollars. Our family of 5 (2 adults, a young adult, and 2 teens) LOVE tours and museums. We were SO excited about Versailles and splurged to the tune of $1,100 on a private tour hoping that it would be worth it... it wasn't. We woke up at 6am and travelled by train from Paris to get there almost 30 minutes early for our 9am tour. Our guide didn't arrive until 9:25 saying he was told the tour began at 9:30 although all of our information said 9am. At 9:15 when we still didn't see him, we tried desperately to get in touch with the tour company but their phones are disconnected and no one ended up answering our emails, even days later. We were relieved when our guide finally arrived at 9:25. He was then confused about what tour we were taking and said the company didn't give him the right tickets. After we had been waiting nearly an hour, he had us stand by a map for another 20 minutes with a rather boring, uninspired beginning of a tour. He never even introduced himself by name, or asked us anything about ourselves (where we were from, what we might most be interested in hearing and learning) which was totally different from any other tour we took where the guide will spend a few minutes introducing him/herself. With a private tour, you would think he'd be interested in asking us where we were from? What we were interesting in seeing/hearing? But no... he had a canned version of a tour he wanted to give, and that's what he did. So, after waiting for him to show, spending 20 minutes listening to nothing of interested, we then stood outside of the gates for an additional 20 minutes while he sorted out the tickets. By the time we actually walked INTO Versailles and saw our first room, it was 1 hour and 15 minutes after the tour was supposed to officially start. We had signed up for this tour, which stated in writing: 2 hours in the palace, 1 hour in the gardens, and 2 hours at Marie Antoinette's Trianon. Our ENTIRE tour was only 3 hours and 45 minutes, NOT 5 hours that we paid for. While the guide was nice enough, it was unfortunate that he wasn't quite our cup of tea, but we acknowledge that is mostly subjective. The real issue we had was paying for 5 hours and getting 3hrs. 45 mins., and the unresponsiveness of the local tour company (not viator). This is, in my opinion, a RIP OFF that takes advantage of eager tourists who want to see Versailles. We spent a lot of hard earned money, went into it with an open mind and eager heart, and did not want to be critical. It was literally just THAT BAD. :(

This tour is over booked and not organized well at all. I got a text from someone who poorly identified himself at 10:20 pm to tell me the tour time was changed from 1:30 pm to 10:30 am. We were at a concert and had to adapt to thw plans. When we got there the tour was way oversold and so many people in front of us that we could not hear or see anything. This is not what I wxoected for a private tour we paid over $700 for two people and this feels like a scam. I do not trust Viator one bit. Had to pay separately for the train to the Trianon - should have been included for this price. There were hardly any furnishings in the space and much of the building is undergoing rennovation. I do not feel any closer to knowing about Marie Antoinette - I want my money back. Please someone from Viator contact me to make this right.

We scheduled a private tour on a Saturday. The day before the scheduled tour we received notification that the tour was rescheduled to Sunday, which we were unable to make, because we were traveling to London that day. I responded to the notification, explaining that we could not attend and requested a refund. Instead, they offered to meet us at the gate on Saturday to allow us to enter Versailles, but that it would be a self guided tour. We spent almost $800 for a private tour, only to be told that we would have to do a self guided tour. Again, we asked for a refund and have not received any response back from this company. I do not recommend this tour company. It is a shame because we have used Viatour for many other tours in the states. This was extremely disappointing and we never got to see Versailles.

The Palace was amazing, our guide had no personality and even less knowledge about French history than I did!!
We paid for a private tour and we’re stuck with this guy for 5 hours!! He showed up late, kept telling us he needed to pick his daughter up, knew nothing about the battle of Yorktown & the role the French played in the American Revolution, didn’t know where or when Marie Antoinette was executed.
Went past rooms saying “there’s nothing to see in there”, explained nothing of the architecture of the buildings.
Viator is a 3rd party vendor & the vendor they connected us to was awful!!!
DO MORE RESEARCH, because this was a total scam!!!

Had a wonderful day with Melville. He really did a great job of showing us around Versailles. He knowledge of French history and working it into the tour was very special. His English was very good as well. We would definitely request his service again.

Horrible experience, we booked a private tour for two people and ended up being put in a random group as our tour guide, supposedly called "Nils" never arrived. Had to wait for over an hour and a half to wait to get tickets and wait in line even though the tour was supposed to be "skip the queue". Do not book this tour it is a scam!

A record number of tourists In Paris is overwhelming the local workers and tourist facilities. Our tour operator rescheduled the private tour multiple times because of no staff. In the end our tour guide never showed up so we had to see Versailles on our own. Over a year of planning for my family was lost. Because of all the schedule changes the special day was lost too. Viatour was not the issue. It was the local tour company that did not perform.

This private tour was amazing. Our guide Anna spoke perfect English and was a ball of energy. Her knowledge of Versailles was beyond compare and we saw places and details of the grounds we did not know existed beyond the palace. A surprise around every corner. Having the fountains working at the time made it even better. 4 hours flew by.

it's was extremely terrible experience, the tour guide is drunk and very unprofessional, the tour agency cancelled the tour last minute and find the replacement tour guide which is totally unprofessional and not knowing anything! just doesn't want to refund our £800 The tour agency is not giving us any information of the tour guide even contact number

We drew a short straw with our Versailles guide. He was quick to complain, and made it clear to us that he was in no condition (physically or psychologically) to give the tour. He barely talked to us, raced from room to room with his back to us, and complained to anyone who would listen - even Versailles staff - about whatever grievance he had at the moment. We tried to just ignore him as much as possible and couldn't wait for our time with him to end. We had other private guides throughout the trip, and he was by far the worst. He had no empathy and failed to even "try" to make things fun or entertaining. The #1 rule of guiding: your clients are there on vacation and want to relax and have fun. He was abysmal on all counts. And this was a private and expensive tour! I have never had an experience like this, and hope to never repeat it!

We were fortunate in that we had our great tour guide Nils all to ourselves. Nils really knew the detail behind the place, the relationships of the kings and their queens, their children. Highly recommended.
